Reports: Obama Expected to Nominate Chuck Hagel as Defense Secretary Next Week

It looks like President Barack Obama will nominate former Republican Sen. Chuck Hagel as the next defense secretary sometime next week, according to reports by Fox News, NBC News and Foreign Policy.

Despite catching heat from both Republicans and Democrats over past statements, one Democratic source told Fox News that “Hagel is it.” The announcement could come as soon as Monday.

Pro-Israel lobbyists expressed concern about a comment Hagel made in 2008 about not being intimated by the “Jewish lobby” unlike others in the Senate. Obama administration officials have denied that Hagel is in any way anti-Isreal.

Additionally, Hagel made an anti-gay comment about a ambassadorial nominee during the Clinton administration, saying he was “openly, aggressively gay” and may hinder his ability to do his job effectively. He has since apologized profusely for his controversial remarks.

“I’ve served with Chuck Hagel, I know him. He’s a patriot, he’s somebody that’s done extraordinary work both in the United States Senate — he’s served this country with valor in Vietnam — and somebody who’s currently serving on my intelligence advisory board and doing an outstanding job,” Obama said of Hagel during an appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

Did you know that chuckie was into voting machines in a big way?? Maybe its payback time……..Check it out on Wikipeda….1992, as President of investment group McCarthy & Co., Hagel assumed ownership and became Chairman of American Information Services (AIS), later known as Election Systems & Software, a manufacturer of computerized voting machines.[14] On March 15, 1995, Hagel resigned from the board of AIS as he intended to run for office.[17] Michael McCarthy, the parent company’s founder, was Hagel’s campaign treasurer.[18] Until at least 2003, he retained between $1 million and $5 million in stock in Election Systems & Software’s parent company, the McCarthy Group.[19]

Americans will support Israel as long as they are perceived as being reasonable. You might call that “PR” or a result their lobbing efforts. I call it “Smart”. Senator Hagel is a good man and an unsung hero who faithfully and humbly worked to benefit veterans of the Vietnam War when it was less popular than John Boehner is today, and he is working now to ensure that the deserving veterans of Afghanistan and Iraq are never ever disrespected or ignored and deserted by civilian our population. He is a budget conservative who does not suffer neo-con fools who continue to mindlessly pour money into chicken hawk expeditions and pay to support bloated allies.

The democrats voted down God three times in their convention platform. Of course Obama is willing to put someone like Hagel in. Just as he told the Russian rep that once he was elected he could really make changes, now you will see so with other “issues”. Obama does not have to hold back any longer. Promises such as jobs, the economy and deficit have already fallen away to more vacation time, reckless spending and the priority now of gun control and elimination of our rights to be now government given.

No one paid attention to his works over the past four years and were smitten by his words. Now be prepared to for the direction his works take us and our allies. Obama is a selfish single minded egotist looking only to fulfill his ideological needs, not represent Americans or their own best interest. Americans do get what they deserve when the examples of the past are pushed away with soundbites over such actions. The elect will be deceived.

And, it is a historical fact that Hitler’s Nazis, through Eichmann, partnered with your Zionist friends. So, Hitler did not hate Israel, even though there was no Israel in Hitler’s time. But, like you, he did like the Zionists who would later go on to form Israel.

To this day, Arabs and Islamist in the middle east who sided with Hitler have wanted to destroy Israel.
      ====================

For that matter, there are thousands of Jews who want to destroy Israel as well:

      ———-
“The Orthodox inhabitants actively objected to being subject to the authority of the secularists. They appealed their cause to the League of Nations, who consequently granted them a “Right of exclusion” to the subjugation to the Vaad Haleumi, which rights provided that any Jew wishing not to be incorporated into the Vaad Haleumi, may remain lawfully independent if he so stated his wish in writing. Thousands of Jews did so.

Such was the case until November 1948, when the United Nations finally sanctioned the establishment of a Zionist State. We do not doubt that their success in finally realizing their goal was due in great measure to their having misled the world into viewing the Zionist cause as the Jewish cause. The formation of the Zionist state resulted in the automatic deprivation of the autonomy heretofore possessed by the Orthodox inhabitants of the Holy Land.”

Hagel seems to finally understand that everything america does around the world has consequences. He seems to understand that war should only be considered as a last resort

That’s all fine and dandy – but you don’t honestly think Obama is going to care what Hagel’s opinion is on anything, do you?

But, whatever. I stand by my assessment. You are free to disagree. We’ll see who is right.

so Hagel is anti-Semite… He is against our friends and agrees with our enemies…
Guess that makes sense for our current administration to nominate him for secretary of OUR defense.
    destroy the economy
    destroy our defenses
    destroy America

maybe, I am making too much of the facts that are in front of me.

Is Hagal the one who is anti-Israel to such a degree he would cut off all military support to that nation if he has an opportunity?

Maybe you’ve missed it, or maybe it’s just a state of constant ignorance, but America is broke, bankrupt, in debt. We should not be supporting anyone or anything that is not American. We can not afford it. Any patriotic “American” understands that logic.

“Excessive partiality for one foreign nation and excessive dislike of another cause those whom they actuate to see danger only on one side, and serve to veil and even second the arts of influence on the other. Real patriots who may resist the intrigues of the favorite are liable to become suspected and odious, while its tools and dupes usurp the applause and confidence of the people, to surrender their interests.”

Gregb, your lack of historical knowledge is incredible. After Bush II, the debt was around $9.6 trillion. Obama’s just accelerated the rate of our demise. The demise goes to both parties. Don’t forget, under Bush ll, Republicans had the House, Senate, and the White House for 2 years.

      Absolutely.

With Mr Hagel Obama seeks to abandon Israel, which is no surprise as he has armed their enemies by arms smuggling and direct support of the Muslim Brotherhood. His hatred for Israel knows no bounds, and I will not be surprised if the time comes he orders an invasion in the name of ‘liberating the people of Palestine.”
