‘My Wife Is a Hero’: Georgia Mother Shoots Home Intruder Five Times After Being Cornered in Attic

A Georgia mother and her two young children are unharmed after a man broke into their house with a crowbar on Friday, cornering them in an attic crawlspace.

According to WSB-TV, the woman was at home with her nine-year-old twins when the doorbell rang. When they didn’t answer, the man reportedly went back to his car and returned with a crowbar.

The mother said she could see the suspect– now identified as Paul Slater– trying to enter the house with the crowbar from her office window. Without hesitation, she grabbed her children, her phone, her gun, and ran upstairs.

One can only imagine the breathless moments after the man broke down the door and began searching the house.

But the man eventually found the family.

“The perpetrator opens that door. Of course, at that time he’s staring at her, her two children and a .38 revolver,” [Walton County Sheriff Joe Chapman] told Channel 2’s Kerry Kavanaugh.

The woman then shot him five times, but he survived, Chapman said. He said the woman ran out of bullets but threatened to shoot the intruder if he moved.

“She’s standing over him, and she realizes she’s fired all six rounds. And the guy’s telling her to quit shooting,” Chapman said.

The woman ran to a neighbor’s home with her children. The intruder attempted to flee in his car but crashed into a wooded area and collapsed in a nearby driveway, Chapman said. [Emphasis added]

Slater– who was taken to the hospital with punctured lungs, a punctured liver, and a punctured stomach– has reportedly been arrested six times since 2008.

WSB-TV continues:

“My wife is a hero. She protected her kids. She did what she was supposed to do as a responsible, prepared gun owner,” [the woman's husband] Donnie Herman said.

He said he’s thankful for his family’s safety.

“Her life is saved, and her kids’ life is saved, and that’s all I’d like to say,” Herman said.

Commenters have overwhelmingly agreed with the husband thus far– one Savannah Morning News reader even posting a similar story illustrating the importance of the woman’s firearm.

In the other report, after an unarmed woman’s home was robbed, she was the one who ended up in the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.

Couple lessons to be learned here:

1) Black crime rates are out of control.

2) Our legal system is a complete joke. It keeps releasing these dangerous mongoloids back into society.

3) Guns are absolutely needed for self-defense. Especially for females. That ******** want to ban them, and that tons of females support gun control, shows how evil and moronic most ******** and females are…

With the Liberal process being what it is, this woman will probably be charged with attempted murder. In the Liberal mind, this is just another reason to rant against gun violence.
Their thinking no doubt, will lead them too say she should have answered the door bell, that would not have led him too think no one was in the home. His actions are all her fault. She was just looking for an excuse too shoot someone, especially a black person. As too her children, she used them as an excuse too use the gun. Does all this sound ridiculous ? Not to Liberal gun haters, to them, it sounds perfectly rational.

She NEEDS to go to shooting school to learn how to aim for the heart or the head. He should have NEVER walked out of there and lived. He would have taken their lives, so it should have been him first. But, I’m still happy she did what she did. He’s actually lucky she doesn’t know how to aim yet, cause he’d be burning in hell at this point. Typical….coon.

  But aim for body mass, less chance of missing. Also, clip/magazine semi auto allows one to have more shots quickly. But I’m sure, if he survives, he’ll feel it for a long time. Think they’ll let him out again ?

  Have you ever been in a fire fight? She was undoubtedly using a J Frame Smith type revolver that holds five rounds. She hit him five times with five shots in a high stress situation. She could probably give you some shooting lessons. Well done very well done.

Smith & Wesson in the hand of a home owner offers a much quicker response time than dialing 9-1-1 and waiting for help to arrive.
I’m betting the liberals will completely ignore the fact that this woman and her children are alive while the other homeowner, who had no gun, is now in a hospital herself.
It just doesn’t fit their agenda of fear and propaganda.
Responsible media outlets need to give more reports of this nature, proving beyond the shadow of a doubt that the individual is responsible for and can defend themselves.
Drooling gun control believers will still say she had no right to defend herself and should have instead called the police. Useless liberal morons.

The mother is a hero, but this is far from rare. As any reader of NRA’s “First Freedom” can attest to, guns are used to protect citizens with great regularity. Moreover, as (former liberal professor) Gary Kleck’s classic and still relevant 1988 article “Crime Control Through the Private Use of Armed Force” (Social Problems, Vol 35, No 1 for those wishing to look it up) this illustrates why burglary is less frequent in the US than in “gun free” countries like the UK and more specifically, why burglars avoid breaking and entering when people are in their homes in the US to a far, far greater degree than in the UK, where there is no threat of immediate punishment.

My guess is the perp, Paul Slater, will run for office as a Democrat who favors the reworked and amended Feinstein bill limiting all firearms to a magazine or wheel capacity of two rounds.

With the ubiquitous help of Al “the rev” Sharpton and Maximus Waters, Slater will win in a landslide, but unfortunately his acceptance speech and career will be cut short by some brothers he pssed off over a dime bag, thus finishing the work the heroic Georgia mother began back in 2013.
