(TheBlaze/AP) — Guards thought there was something a little suspicious about a stray white cat slipping through a prison gate in northeastern Brazil.
And a prison official says that when they caught and detained the animal, they found a cellphone, drills, small saws and other contraband taped to its body.

Alagoas state prisons spokeswoman Cinthya Moreno says the cat was caught New Year’s Eve at the medium-security prison in the city of Arapiraca, but that the photos have just been released.
The O Estado de S. Paulo newspaper reported Saturday that all of the prison’s 263 inmates are suspects in the smuggling attempt, though it says a prison spokesman said “It will be hard to discover who is responsible since the cat does not speak.”

Jan. 6, 2013 at 1:13pmI’m not sure I agree, either. Just search YouTube for Mishka, the talking Husky. She’s so smart, she has her own career. They didn’t make up the phrase “like herding cats” for nothing. It’s darn near impossible!

Jan. 5, 2013 at 10:45pmNo Drill in the picture! Drill Bits but not a drill! These minor mistakes reflect on the ignorance of people and lack of attention to detail. Its not much different than the recent local news report of a guy falling through the ice into 22 degree water. The water would be frozen if it was that temp in a lake, thus he would not have fallen through! Or the reports about assault weapons being evil or capable of automatic fire.
Get you facts right, PLEASE! Its important!

Jan. 6, 2013 at 2:27pmActually, the lake would not be completely frozen even if it was at 22 degrees. Water only freezes at the surface of bodies of water. If bodies of water froze over from the bottom up, marine life would cease to exist. Although there are exceptions and lakes that are completely frozen over do exist, but they are definitely under a much lower degree than 22 degrees fahrenheit.

Thank you for applying for the job of detective. Unfortunately, it seems you are not qualified, as your scores for “critical thinking” are too low. We will keep your application on file. Good day.

Jan. 5, 2013 at 7:44pmwe need to take action now and call for more cat control laws. what can we do to stop this from happening again? are certain breeds more likely to break people out of prisons than others. Maybe stricter calico laws need to be implemented. whatever the case cats are now a danger to society and action must be taken, write to your senators and congressmen demanding that this dangerous feline menace be regulated, controlled, or all out banned.
