A massive crowd of brawling teenagers sparked a stampede at a Louisiana mall this weekend, leading police to evacuate the shopping center and shut it down early, the Advocate reports.

More than 200 teens were in the Mall of Louisiana’s food court when a fight broke out just before 6 p.m. on Saturday, although it wasn’t clear how many people were actually fighting.

16-year-old Jerry Johnson was at the mall when the riot began, and at one point he and his friend even thought there had been a shooting.

“This is about the craziest thing I ever seen,” he reportedly said.

The Advocate continues:

Shane Ash, 30, of Central, said he was with his wife, daughter and parents in the Build-A-Bear when they heard “a stampede of people above us.”

As that was happening Ash said, the cashier closed the gate to the front of the store and brought everyone to the very rear of the store for about 15 minutes.

He said he walked to the gate out of curiosity.

“For about 10 minutes, there were still people running everywhere,” Ash said, adding half of the people in the crowd were “screaming in terror and half were giggling and running like it was a joke.”

Thankfully, no injuries were reported. However, the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s office says it plans to charge a number of people.

Witnesses say the trouble began after Instagram users posted an invitation to their followers on social media, telling them to come and meet in person at the mall.

It supposedly wasn’t intended to be unruly, just an opportunity to meet with online acquaintances.

Police corralled unaccompanied youths until frantic parents arrived to pick them up.

“Never been that scared in my life,” witness Juston D’Nea Millet wrote on Facebook after the incident. “People were running everywhere. It was like a movie, but you were in it.”

Sadly as welfare checks, drugs and massive school dropouts, etc. continue, so will the black mob robberies, gang fighting, thefts, and the general reduction of our entire society. Since the election of Obama these mob groups have gotten bolder and bolder with their pathetic behavior and challenge of all authority. If welfare, free rent, free phones , etc, etc. stops, all holy hell is coming to your local neighborhood! Do not see how this trend can continue with out a total civil war in our immediate future or it worsens When your on the very bottom, why would a little riot or looting bother you, it’s expected.

  The civil war has been raging since 1968, you don’t realize it because it is a “low intensity conflict”, but the annual body count is REAL. Historians will call this period a period of racial strife in which whites were ethnically cleansed. Hated everywhere, welcomed nowhere.

Thank you Progressives (Communists), for giving us this “great society.” ACORN, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Barack Obama, Cloward-Piven and ALL of the race-baiters have each contributed their special little talents to ruining so many of the youth of Louisiana.

And I can only imagine that for every 10 teens in the brawl, there were 6 out in the stores shoplifting in a planned scheme.

  I remember going to OshKosh, Wisconsin in the late 1990s for vacation. I remember leaving a restaurant & seeing a young white man in his late teens & early twenties with a woman the same age. She was pushing stroller. I could just tell they were on welfare. This is cultural & not racial.   How do you know the white teen couple weren’t babysitting one of there siblings. You are assuming the baby was theirs. And assuming they had no means of supporting the child if it was theirs. You have no proof they were on any kind of government assistance. You dont!!!!!!!!!!!!! But even if I am not wearing my glasses I can see what group of people were involved in the riot, black. I’m sure this was only an isolated incident. We all know the great value our black youth place on human life. Just look at Chicago. These behaviors are in no way related to gansta rap, movies, video games, poor parenting, substandard public education or any other negative external stimuli. I am sure that this was just a simple misunderstanding.

  @M14GUY, I used to work in the inner city there, and I can attest to what you said. Almost everyone on a given street are siblings or cousins, and you never know where to find them from one day to the next. People sleep in different houses every night, and they often “party” all night.

You don’t suppose these brawlers were if that group 98% of whom supported The Messiah do you? That group of whom a large majority lives to some degree off the efforts of working, tax paying Americans to what I refer. Such a state of dependence diminishes respect for self as well as for fellow citizens and their property. No matter how these rioters act the checks will arrive in the mail box the first of the month. What me worry? The catch: Democrats must hold power if the party is to continue.

  Well, Florida Republican Gov. Rick Scott signed a bill that requires benefit recipients to undergo drug testing. I am hearing rumblings in Ohio to do the same. Every state in the union needs to do this. This alone would probably lower the debt considerably.
