Alex Jones Goes Ballistic Debating Gun Control With Piers Morgan: ’1776 Will Commence Again If You Try to Take Our Firearms!’

The White House petition to “deport” CNN host Piers Morgan from the United States has acquired more than 100,000 signatures. For his own reasons, Morgan invited the man behind the petition, Infowars’ Alex Jones, to discuss the reason for the petition and gun control on his show Monday night.
At many times throughout the segment, Jones got heated and began hollering about the seriousness of the threat to the Second Amendment. He said he created the petition to bring attention to the fact that we have “all these foreigners” arguing for gun control while the government stockpiles guns.
“When they get our guns they can have their world tyranny, while the government buys 1.6 billion bullets, armored vehicles, tanks, helicopters, predator drones,” he added. “The Second Amendment isn’t there for duck hunting, it’s there to protect us from tyrannical government and street thugs.”
Getting himself worked up, Jones quickly lost his cool.
“Britain took the guns…Hitler took the guns, Stalin took the guns, Mao took the guns, Fidel Castro took the guns, Hugo Chavez took the guns,” he said, raising his voice and pointing a finger at the CNN host. “And I’m here to tell you. 1776 will commence again if you try to take our firearms! It doesn’t matter how many lemmings you have out there on the street begging for them to have their guns taken. We will not relinquish them. Do you understand?”

After Jones accused the U.S. government of giving citizens “suicide mass murder pills,” Morgan asked him how many gun murders there were in the U.S. last year.
Jones quickly replied, “11,458 and about 74 percent of those were gang-related.” However, he quickly mocked the CNN host with his own question: “How many great white sharks kill people every year but are afraid to swim?”
Jones continually interrupted Morgan, making it difficult for a serious debate to occur. “You are a hatchet man of the new world order,” Jones spat at Morgan.
Once he found an opening, Morgan explained that Britain had just 35 gun-related murders last year compared to America’s 11,458. Jones argued it isn’t the “gun” that is killing people, it’s the criminals. In other words, a criminal will find a way to kill with a knife or a metal rod if guns aren’t available. He cited Britain’s high overall violent crime rate to make his point.

On Monday, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney responded to the petition to deport Morgan.
“The White House responds to all petitions that cross the threshold and we will respond to this one. In the meantime, it is worth remembering that the freedom of expression is a bedrock principle in our democracy,” Carney said.

Posted on January 7, 2013 at 10:47pmJones spoke a bit strongly, however his side of the argument is the only valid solution. Gun control doesn’t work, and never has. Piers attempted to counteract Alex’s statistics with his own, however, I feel that this was a smoke screen. The fact that knives are used as murder weapons more often than guns is a much more valid fact than saying that the UK had 35 firearms murders.
Without meaning to Piers helped Jones’ cause by giving this statistic, proving that when humans do not have access to firearms then they will use other weapons.
(In England, due to restrictions, the overall violent crime rate was raised due to firearms restrictions, despite their intended purpose)

Posted on January 7, 2013 at 11:29pmEngland has always had a lower homicide rate than the U.S. irrespective of gun laws. Other than a spike in around 1990, the rate has been pretty flat. So the gun laws do nothing to save life except take rights from law abiding citizens.

So the U.S. has historically had higher rates than England for crime in general not just for homicide.
We are not as homogeneous Britain. that is a big part of the answer.

He didn’t want to be interviewed by Piers, he just wanted to gete his facts out before he got kicked off the show. Unfortunately it may have came across as some madman yelling. I get his tactic. He wanted to introduce himself to Piers audience by getting a ton of facts out. It was just a CNN soapbox for about 12 minutes for Alex.

I myself would’ve preferred to tar and feather that smug british face on live television, then turn to the camara and say, “Anyone else want to try to diminish my Constitutional rights?”

If more conservative guests did this, there would be less gotcha moments, but they let the host control the conversation when they were invited on to give their opinion. That’s the problem with progressive talk shows. No matter who gets invited in, the host controls the conversation and you only hear their view, unless the guest happens to agree, then they let him talk as much as they want. Keep up the good work, Alex, and good job for not letting this progressive foreigner lead you into his trap.

He lost because you could see the fear in him, and rightly so, I thought Alex was about to beat the crap out of him.
Remember, the gun debate is not about facts, it is about emotion, and as you could see Alex was DEFINITELY in charge of the emotions on that set. One last thing, alex won because he made me use google, I googled up the stats on British violence and USA violence. HE WAS RIGHT. Violence is low in America and sky high in England. The left believes that more guns means more violence, but they are dead wrong. Imagine if a Liberal went and looked it up, they might actually change their minds on some of this. That’s why Alex won.

You make great points about how Conservative guests should start treating the liberal media types, and I happen to agree with you. However, I don’t want people like Jones being the one doing the talking for me because he has that nutcase aura about him and he turns-off way too many people. I’m not a fan of Mr Jones because he wanders from fact to supported assumption to unsupported assumption far too easily. I have learned to be very wary of things that I learn from his website and always look for corroboration.
I can say that most of what Mr Jones said (I did have to struggle to keep up) was factual. His non-factual points were perfectly valid.
And then Mr Morgan went for Mr Jones’ weak spot – the 9/11 inside job theory.
Up until that point, I felt that Mr Jones was scoring heavily. He was passionate, he had his statistics at his fingertips, and refused to allow Mr Morgan any chance to take the initiative.
Mr Morgan then drew attention to Mr Jones’ pet conspiracy theory and landed a couple of telling blows. Mr Jones had previously pointed to Mr Morgan’s own dirty laundry but that less effect.
I think that Mr Jones won, but on points. I think that his performance was such that many more people than those who watch CNN are going to see that interview – as they both intended, probably.

You can’t gloss over the truth just because it makes people uncomfortable. Those “good hard working people” that you mentioned are usually the first ones that are willing to hand over their freedoms to the government. Don’t you remember all of the “salt of the earth” folks who, in the wake of 9/11, said “if you aint got nothing to hide, then you aint got nothing to worry about”.
I believe that we can wake these people up. Honestly, i think that they are already waking up, but we’re not going to wake anyone up to government tyranny if we “pretty up” things so as to make it more palatable to the “good hard working people”.
The threat is real and it is here. We have to treat it as such.

He has a real talent for burying progressive memes in a dignified manner. However, he has his own personal issues that make him someone I personally get really annoyed with & am sure there’s others that feel the same. Maybe because he’s a hypocrite with so many things (like cheating on his own wife while going after Clinton for the same thing)..
The problem with that is the progressives use Alinsky tactics to stomp out conservatives message & he’s the perfect kind of target for those.. It’s sad. We have guys like Romney who is a saint in his personal life but the left is able to paint as an evil overlord because he & others like him don’t know how to communicate well. Those who can communicate well come off like hypocrites like Gingrich…That GOP power vacuum is what’s being filled with loudmouths like Jones.
While his points were spot on it’s in the delivery that counted here. Now can we ever get some folks that know how to communicate & are armed with the facts? I mean we DO have the facts on our side so what’s so damn difficult about delivering them to the masses? And why does the GOP continue to pick establishment RINO’s to represent the conservative cause? Those guys aren’t even conservatives. (sigh)
I suppose that dilemma is why Rand Paul is growing in popularity. He seems to be armed with the facts & have the ability to deliver them.

I can guarantee you this; CNN would be scrambling to get you off the air, when you start slinging facts about how blacks make up 12% of the population, but are ding 50% of the nation’s murders. If we can lower black murder rates to the same rate as whites, we would drop the nation’s murder rate by just about 40%.
These libs in the MSM would not let you openly talk about the murder rates in Chicago, Detroit, Philly…. The cities with the highest murder rates, are all the cities with the strictest gun control laws.
More people are killed each year in the US with knives, than with rifles
America owns 88 guns per 100 people, but 25 nations have higher murder rates than us. Honduras owns 6.6 guns per 100 people and lead the world in murder per capita.
The Swiss have a military rifle and ammunition in every house, and has one of the lowest murder rates in the world (This has nothing to do with their socialist healthcare, Swiss cheese, or snow covered mountains…)

If the facts of the total amount of guns in the U.S. compared to amount used in deaths were used, it would have been better. Or the amount of planes compared to the amount of plane related deaths. Or the amount of automobile deaths compared to the amount of automobiles. I’m sure someone could kill just as many people with a car, as with a gun. Yet we aren’t trying to regulate people’s ability to get behind the wheel. In fact, I think we are doing quite the opposite.

I don’t have the answers. But being passive while they assail us daily is clearly not working. Alex, I think, was quite rational even when he was completely agitated. Maybe we need to do more of getting right into their effing faces and screaming it out! Because really they are just bullies. I mean they are just a bunch of weakling pansies in reality, who are afraid of EVERYTHING. Bullies always back down when you confront them forcefully. Maybe I interpret your posts incorrectly but the more I read from you, the more and more I think you have specific problems with African Americans. You posts never point to any of the external problems that the black community faces, that lead to the statistics you post, which leads me to believe that you think that they are born this way because of the color of their skin.

“illegally harms and defames a member of the news media” can you cite the statute that lists this as an infraction or crime, when such a claim has not been validated by proper judicial jurisprudence?
In other words, This would not be considered a crime. The Damaged Party would have to make a claim against the defendant, for defamation and legal redress.
This is still contingent upon the EVIDENCE to such an infraction.

I couldn’t agree more. I have been listening to Alex’s channel on Sirius and I know he his is extremely passionate about what he says. Like I would in a similar situation, maybe not so effectively, Alex was getting in all his talking points and not taking Pier’s questions which would have been engineered so as to illicit a response that served the Liberals agenda. He had to weigh the benefits here and obviously opted for shock and rudeness factors in order to get his message out there. He also knows that this video would go viral and bring even more people curious to see what has been there for so long. Be warned though, your going down the rabbit hole when you start looking at the stuff that gets swept under the rug.

Once published, those faked photos put the lives of British troops in real danger as they became a recruiting tool for al Qaeda.

If you look at the LOW number of Swiss murders, and know that their citizens are ALL armed, then you have to ask the question, how can this possibly be? Well, its demographics! Just like the Scandanavians, they are majority white.

But when confronted with a liberal who challenges your views, I’d advise you to just talk to him/her, and not go ballistic as Jones did here. It just needs to stop. Where will it stop? Certainly not with them. I don’t think we need to get to the point that we allow the despicable nature of liberals become us, we’re better than that. We are a tolerant and decent people, and we should, no matter what, behave as such. That’s what I think. I always tell my friends, when you get in a heated argument, let them throw the first punch, then you are completely justified with beating them to a pulp.

You have NO right to call anyone a violent, irrational gun nut when your side was caught, red-handed, running guns to the Mexican drug cartels.
