Radio Host Alex Jones Gets in Spat With TSA at Texas Airport — See the Photos
Controversial radio host Alex Jones is grabbing headlines today after he was stopped by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport for refusing to remove his shoes while attempting to travel from Texas to New York City en route to an appearance on CNN.

Jones’ website InfoWars reported that he saw other passengers around him going through without removing their shoes and that’s when the trouble started.
Here’s how it went down reportedly today according to InfoWars:
As soon as he approached security, Jones was addressed by a TSA screener who said, “Hello Mr. Jones,” indicating that she knew who he was, and immediately ordered him to remove his shoes.
When Jones refused, citing the fact that innumerable other people had not removed their shows, the TSA screener claimed that only under 12′s and over 75′s were not mandated to remove footwear under TSA policy.
When Jones contested the point, arguing that numerous travelers in their 40′s had not removed their shoes, other TSA agents ordered him to take off his shoes, before Jones was approached by a police officer who immediately got in his face and started threatening him with arrest.

InfoWars stated that Jones’ objected to removing his shoes due to an incident with athletes foot he had contracted from an airport floor a few years prior.

Eventually, Jones did remove his shoes and go through the metal detector. Allegedly as he passed through though, a “beep” went off and the TSA agents nearby began laughing. Jones’s site claims that the screeners purposefully set off the detector in order to delay him further.
Jones is now considering a lawsuit for what he considers was a violation of his civil liberties and for allegedly being targeted because he has been critical of the TSA.
It should be noted that the travelers in their 40s that Jones saw not removing shoes could have been enrolled in TSA’s PreCheck program, which allows some pre-screened, frequent travelers to pass through TSA without removing their footwear to expedite the process.
Jones has long been a controversial figure and has been maligned by both the Left and the Right. He’s supported both 9/11 “trutherism” and Barack Obama “birtherism.”
InfoWars reports that Jones was on his way to New York City to appear on CNN’s “Piers Morgan Tonight.”

Not requiring designated segments of the population to conform to the rules that are designed for safety of all while flying is something akin to a “gun free zone” which allows a known avenue of non-resistence to those embarking on a mission of wrongdoing. A child’s shoe? An elder’s shoe? The shoe of one who has been prescreened?

Of course they knew who he was and thats kinda scary but he knows they are ready for him with the grand welcome treatment. The best thing is for him to do was not to make a spectacle where he has no control nor authority. Your gonna lose and he in fact lost the battle of wills. He complied and spent time in the hot seat for it so they could continue to play their games. Why even give them the satisfaction. He does a great job of fighting from the outside, but you can’t fight the machine from within….stay on course Alex.

I am with you on that and been saying it myself for a long time. I stopped flying once the x ray machines were put into use. I just wish others would stop too. There is absolutely no reason to fly but people keep on lining up. It just shows you how many people will blindly go where the government leads.

My family was going to a shooting school. We properly declared our weapons and got them through ok. But during the carry-on screening one of the TSA idiots declared that we had “gun parts!!”. My husband, and LEO, had a carry on which contained our glasses, ear protectors, flashlights, holsters, and OMG – empty clips. She was told that clips are not “part of a gun”. But that didn’t matter. You know what happens when you give ignoramouses power. The Austin PD had to “escort” his fellow LEO to check the bag, noting along the way that the TSA doesn’t know what they are doing.

When I am required to remove cash and medication from my pockets and I am not allowed to watch where it goes. I had narcotics missing from the basket when I passed through the TSA shakedown when I PROTESTED THE PRESCRIPTION WAS SUDDENLY FOUND. I am lucky I was not arrested and framed. I travel less and use ground transportation. Of course I now have to be vigilant for corrupt cops who will shake me down while on the road.

Posted on January 7, 2013 at 4:06pmYou’re complaining about TSA overreach (no pun intended), just imagine the actions they would take in the aftermath of an assault on a TSA officer. TSA is unionized now, and they would go into overdrive to “protect” TSA officers. They’d have screeners carrying tasers at checkpoints and any kind of perceived aggressive speech or action would become a federal offense.
It is therapeutic to vent, but keep in mind that all actions have consequences and this administration never wastes a crisis. All travelers would be punished for the actions of one.

WILL TSA GET A CLUE. I am surprised they didn’t make us strip down to our underwear with the underwear bomber. Apparently, that is where they drew the line.
I was told to remove a sweater otherwise be subject to a pat down. It was a sweater folks. They also made me show them my watch was real. What the F was that all about? This was going through Greensboro, NC airport security. TSA just likes to F with people because they know they can get away with it and we are powerless. Also the screening program is a crock. Tell me how they ensure the person who applies for the waiver really has the waiver? Could I not get the waiver and then turn around and make my shoes blow up? NO COMMON SENSE.

Although these are more like the guys who loaded them into cattle cars or stamped the forms condemning people to go to X Y or Z. Most of them are gleeful at the power they have been handed. Fascism and Totalitarian Tyranny rarely seem to happen fast at the time. Only after do people wail and gawk in confusion and query, “Why didn’t someone DO something?” “Why.. I would have stood up to the fascist regime had I been there at the time.” Would they? I doubt it. I used to say the only thing worse than a TSA agent was a Union member, now that they are both they are the worst. Pedophiles and rapists are better than TSA agents, they violate fewer numbers of people on a daily basis.

Considering all of these glamour shots of the situation, the cynic in me thinks Jones set up this confrontation and ignored the rules on purpose just so it could be photographed and he could talk about it later.

I have been to infowars. It is not a site I have linked. I do not want to visit there & go down the rabbit hole. I am sure Alex finds plenty, since just about everything is corrupt. But I can find my news & analysis at better places such as The American Spectator, Reason, American Thinker, Frontpage, etc. I would have to say TSA is wrong in this case.

and while he may have slowed that portion of the line down, consider how many people went through with a more cursory wave while he was occupying the TSA’s attention… and as he noted, when others have been passed through without removing their shoes, there is a bias at work… unless a computer does it, there is nothing ‘random’ about the TSA gate agents selection of who removes their shoes and who does not. It is a ridiculous game to heighten anxiety, cow the public into being quiet sheeple, and to justify the huge expenditures, a portion of which is just lost in the shuffle, going God knows where.

Do you not remove your keys when walking thru a metal detector at a county building?? Would not Mr Jones cry foul again?? How many things do you find distaseful that do not violate your rights??
