Ticketmaster Goofs and Accidentally Sells Out of Obama Inauguration Ball Tickets Before They Were Set to Go on Sale

Many hoping to partake in some of the presidential inauguration festivities are now out of luck after Ticketmaster experienced a glitch Sunday night.

The Washington Post reported that those who had signed up for email announcements regarding ticket sales for the Inaugural Ball Jan. 21 at the Washington Convention Center were told in a message Sunday that sales would occur on Monday. Instead though, the email that should have been sent Monday went out only a few hours after the first — still on Sunday.

That resulted in all the $60 tickets to the ball, one of two for President Barack Obama, selling out earlier than expected. Those perhaps not checking email again until Monday were out of luck.

Here are the thoughts of some once hopeful attendees who weren’t able to get a ticket (via the 2013 Presidential Inauguration Committee’s Facebook page):

The Washington Post reported that Ticketmaster apologized in an email to those who were signed up for announcements.

  Julius Genachowski, FCC Chairman, sat on board of directors of Ticketmaster before his appointment.
  
  The highly controversial monopolistic merger between Ticketmaster and LiveNation, denied before under the Bush Admin., was surprise surprise, allowed under the Obama Admin.

Congress should not confirm Barack Obama as President, For he is not an Article II “Natural Born Citizen”, by Atty Mario Apuzzo

At the joint session objections to his confirmation should be made by at least one Senator and one Representative in order to LAUNCH AN INVESTIGATION.

Ah yes look at that photo of me and my beard but mostly gaze upon me your magnificent ruler. They told me I had to marry a beard to make it look like I was normal so I reluctantly agreed so I could attain the highest office in the land. If I decide to step down some day I can ‘shave’ my beard and find a young strong man.

  That would be me. I will be a guest of Senator Rob Portman at the Inauguration. It will be my fourth. (84, 88, 96) Who, given the chance, would not attend one of the greatest celebrations of democracy in the world? Certainly no patriot would disparage the inauguration of the American President. The rest of the world looks on with envy and reactionaries here at the Blaze sound like petulant children. Not to worry, I’ll give a full report soon as I get back.
