Fresh off his crazy interview with Alex Jones, CNN’s Piers Morgan hosted former U.S. Marine Joshua Boston on Tuesday to continue the debate over whether America needs stricter gun laws to address violent crime. Boston’s scathing letter to Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) regarding her strict gun control proposals, titled “No Ma’am,” went viral last week.
Boston said more gun laws is not what the country needs — It needs more firearms in the hands responsible gun owners.
“Where does that lead America to, other than utter Wild West hell,” Morgan later asked.
Boston calmly replied, “They said this was going to happen whenever Texas instituted its concealed handgun laws, and it hasn’t happened.” The former marine went on to say that there were concealed carry permit holders at several shootings, including the Tucson, Ariz. shooting that injured Rep. Gabby Giffords, but they did not draw and start firing their guns wildly.
“The American people aren’t as gun happy and as trigger happy as they are being made out to be by the media,” he said. “They are smarter than that. They know when to hold their fire, they know when to fire. And we can increase the chances of success for these people who get caught in these situations, for their survival, by education. We’ve got to stop making this a taboo subject to everyone because its scary.”
“We can’t give up our rights because we’re afraid,” Boston said.
To that, Morgan replied, “I believe the rights of a 6 or 7-year-old child to go to school without the fear of being murdered” are more important than other rights.
Boston then noted that the previous assault weapons ban didn’t stop Columbine from happening. Congress will never be able to legislate bad people from doing bad things, he explained.

Jan. 9, 2013 at 12:56amWhy is it no one mentions the difference between the military 223 round and the 223 you can buy over the counter. Have you hunted deer with a over the counter 223. better be close to the target. A military 223 is counter balanced so it flips when it hits the target. that is what makes it a man killer. it hits you in the shoulder and gives you a heart attack. the bullet is made to do maximum damage in close combat. that is why they gave them to us in Vietnam to replace the M14 7.62.

Jan. 9, 2013 at 3:07pmM193 are available including the new penetrator rounds. I’ve got a few thousand of them. The M193s are exactly the same thing I was issued in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. The 7.62 NATO is exactly the same thing we were issued for the M14 and later the AR10 for are recon unit. The 3.08 WIN packs a bigger punch. I’ve a got few thousand rounds of Nato and a few 7.62LRs. I’m starting to run into problems getting the 7.62s.

Jan. 9, 2013 at 12:48amThis guy has a TV show and seems to know nothing about weapons except what the media says. AR-15s do not fire 100 rounds a minute. Yes, they may be changed to fire automatically, but that is illegal. Law abiding gun owners do not do such things. As for movie theaters, malls, and churches becoming like the wild west. I remind Mr. Morgan that in the old west they didn’t shoot children. Why was that? Because children were seen as a blessing. Today children are seen as a curse that are to be gotten rid of as soon as possible with an abortion. I would ask Mr. Morgan just how many of these mass murders were members of the NRA? How many of them took a fire arms course with the NRA? In todays culture we clearly need armed guards of so kind in our schools. President Obama sends his daughters to a school that has 11 armed guards not counting the Secret Service people that are with the girls. Once again it is ok for our government leaders, but not ok for the common American.

Jan. 9, 2013 at 12:23amFeinstein says these weapons are designed to kill large number of people in close combat. What a total lie. Real assault weapons, fully auto AK-47′s and M-16′s don’t kill a large number of people in close combat or we’d be hearing about all these massacres of soldiers constantly.

Think about it we have people who get their free Obummer phone, free food stamps, free housing, and free cash which they believe is their right and are entitled to. Meanwhile we have a constitutional right the leftist don’t support so they should provide training, bullets, and guns.

I wonder if Piers had seen this first hand? I wonder if its why the politicians fear it so? if so,its the best reason for Americans to keep it legal to own. The second amendment is meant to keep government in check, and the AR15 is the perfect tool for the American patriot.

Jan. 8, 2013 at 11:51pmThe problems that liberals have with the AR-15 can be boiled down to (i) it looks similar to, and shares many parts with, the military’s fully-automatic M16 rifle; and (ii) its model name “AR” reminds them of “Assault Rifle”, which they’ve been indoctrinated to fear. Nevermind that the AR stands for “ArmaLite”, the rifle’s original designer and manufacturer. Basically, it looks scary, and that’s enough to merit a ban. Absolutely unreal.

Jan. 8, 2013 at 11:36pmIt is immoral—much less unconstitutional—for people in power, whose families are protected by armed guards, to take away guns from law abiding citizens when they know full well that we are on the verge of an economic collapse that gang bangers are salivating for so they can engage in a looting and robbery spree.
How dare people like Piers Morgan and particularly people in power like Governor Cuomo seek to leave law abiding citizens defenseless when they themselves employ armed guards for themselves and their families.

Jan. 9, 2013 at 1:33amWhat they fail to realize is many ex military buy the ar15 because they are familiar with shooting it, cleaning it and maintaining it. As far as it being the best anti human machine is silly and i take difference to gen. Mc Crystal; it is a rifle with a small grined projecticle not much different from at .22 cal. The round was designed to injur taking more enemies off the battle field through rendering first aid. A typical .223 or nato .556 is not even considered in huntinging anything besides woodchucks. It is not considered in military terms a close combat weapon. The gun grabbers can’t be honest on this. It is very accurate up to about 300 yds and dos shoot about 3000 feet a scond. at close range a .223 will more times then not go right through you when a deer hunting round like a 30/06 will take your arm or leg with it. It all makes sense to me when Obama’s hsl declared veterans and tea party members as future terrorists because these people are skilled and trained in the m16/ ar15. I believe this is why they are targeting the ar 15; the want those with the ability to resist made illegal to resist.

As editor if the Daily Mirror in 2004, he was fired when his newspaper published photos that purported to show British troops abusing al Qaeda terrorists. The photos turned out to be obvious fakes. Once published, those faked photos put the lives of British troops in real danger as they became a recruiting tool for al Qaeda.

So much for the FDA keeping us safe,

That is correct so what that shows is that mental illness is not being treated properly in this country. The pills are used to keep them under control but once they go off the pills, look out those screwed up minds are loose. Perhaps starting the medication leads to the condition being even worse after they fail to take it. Mental Illness is the problem here pure and simple. If it was anything else then we would all be running around shooting each other. And the only places I know where people are being shot up on a daily basis are those places with the strictest gun control. IE Chicago.

Jan. 9, 2013 at 7:45amMorgan, democrats, and the MSM do not care about making America safe, lowering murder rates, or preserving the lives of children (check their stance on abortion).
If thy wanted to talk murder, and lowering it, then they would put the facts on the table, but they hate facts, and in reality they just want to grab guns.
Facts take away their blood thirst for wanting out rifles.
When you lay out that in 2011, there (according to the FBI) were more murders committed with clubs, knife, and by hand than all rifles combined, they squirm and get uncomfortable.
If you want to really see a lib squirm, then tell them that blacks make up 12% of the population, but do half of the nation’s murders per year. If we could lower black murder rates to the same as white murder rates, then we would drop the nation’s murder rate by almost 40%, and save a whole lot of black lives. Libs hate fact like this.
Let a lib know that close to 70% of our gun violence is related to gang activity, then ask if we should not worry less about rifles, and more about gangs, and they will shut up.
Ask a lib if they realize our violent crime is intrinsically tied to our welfare population, and they will really get miffed.
In a short while, libs will do what a lib always does when presented with cold hard facts and statistics, they will start reverting to the rules of political correctness, and calling you names such as racist, sexist, homophobe, or islamaphobe.

Jan. 9, 2013 at 8:00amAustralian Gun Law Update
Here’s a thought to warm some of your hearts….
From: Ed Chenel, A police officer in Australia
the real
figures from Down Under.
It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by a new law to
surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by our own
government, a program costing Australia taxpayers
more than $500 million dollars.
The first year results are now in:
Australia-wide, homicides are up 6.2 percent,
Australia-wide, assaults are up 9.6 percent;
Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!
In the state of Victoria
lone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent.(Note that
while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not
and criminals still possess their guns!)
While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady
decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically
upward in the past 12 months, since the criminals now are guaranteed
that their prey is unarmed.
There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and
assaults of the elderly, while the resident is at home.
Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public
safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was
expended in ‘successfully ridding Australian society of guns….’ You
won’t see this on the American evening news or hear your governor or
members of the State Assembly disseminating this information.

Medication side effects should be looked at, but also bringing back mental institutions. When the body is ill, we go to hospitals. When the mind is ill, there should be a hospitals for the mentally ill too. I don’t think that mental illness is the taboo subject it used to be anymore.
One bad apple doesn’t mean that all other apples will spoil too, but unfortunately this regulation frenzy is what usually happens with the left. They need to have a sense that they did something about it, without looking at the real consequences of their new laws and regulations.
