Why Does Harvard Law Prof. Say It’s ‘Racist and Bigoted’ to Call Guns ‘Quintessentially American’?

Adding to the long line of things that have been deemed “racist” by those on the left (think: peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, or almost anything Chris Matthews sees), Harvard professor Alan Dershowitz appeared on CNN with Piers Morgan Monday to discuss the gun control debate currently gripping the United States.

Appearing soon after Infowars’ Alex Jones went ballistic defending the 2nd Amendment– shouting, hollering, and even threatening that “1776″ would “commence again” if the administration came after people’s firearms– the two spent several minutes discussing how important it is that rational, reasonable CNN-viewers see Jones’ hysteria.

After Morgan lamented the amount of influence wielded by organizations like the NRA, Dershowitz launched into a spiel of his own, where he eventually argued that it is “racist” to say that guns are “quintessentially American”:

I don’t think it’s the NRA power [that's the problem]. I think it’s people like us, not the two of us, but Americans who care about guns [who] aren’t doing enough to make our case to the public.

…We’ve given that issue over to them because they have lobbyists they pay money. But in the end, the people determine the outcome.  And it’s wrong, and it’s racist and it’s bigoted to say that guns are quintessentially American.  They may represent a part of America, but my grandparents, who came over from Poland and live in Brooklyn, New York, are just as much Americans –people who came over from Ireland, people who came over from Italy — we’re just as much Americans.  We live on the coast and we have a right to define the America we want to live in and we have the obligation to win politically, to vote for people to put gun control as a high priority.  [Emphasis added]

Presumably, though, when people say that guns are part of the American culture, they are not referring to whether people’s ancestors possessed a firearm, but to the Bill of Rights.

Did his parents come to America to try and change it? If so why? Anyone from one from Poland should know what Government is capable of because of what the NAZIS (National Socialist) did to their country. There is nothing wrong with being peaceful and most hope for it but there comes times when you have to deal with NAZIS and their likes. Sad many do not learn their lessons from History or maybe their ideas are rooted in bigotry them self rather than logic?

To divide a society, by any means. Guns, gender, religion, race… it matters little. What matters is, that a minority keeps the majority divided amongst itself. The division multiplies that minorities power, a force multiplier.

“Why Does Harvard Law Prof. Say It’s ‘Racist and Bigoted’ to Call Guns ‘Quintessentially American’?”

Because he says everything is racist and bigotted. It’s his way of demonizing everything without having to present any kind of argument for or against.

But he really has no right to give an opinion on anything, because he’s a traitorous POS that lives here, but gives his loyalty and dedication to Israel.

He should be in jail with Jonathan Pollard the other traitor who sold the US out in order to gfive our secrets to Israel. Abe Foxman is another.

All three of them should be hanged in public for treason.

Alex was lying about the FBI statistics?

Alex was lying about the claim that more guns = less crime?

Allen DUHshowitz was “playing Stupid” (very well done. It must come natural to him) about the “Criminal elements within our banks”, “the Bloombergs”, “the National Banks”.

DUHshowitz knows EXACTLY what Alex was talking in reference to.

A Majority of our Founding Fathers were Lawyers, as is today’s politicians (more than 75%).

The “National Banks” is one of their little secrets, that they like to play dumb about.

      Debunk these quotes, Harvard clowns:

“The real truth of the matter is that a financial element in the large centers has owned the government since the days of Andrew Jackson.”
      – FDR

“When the Federal Reserve Act was passed, the people of these United States did not perceive that a world banking system was being set up here. A super-state controlled by international bankers and international industrialists acting together to enslave the world for their own pleasure. Every effort has been made by the Fed (Reserve) to conceal its powers but the truth is — the Fed has usurped the government!”
Congressman Louis McFadden, Chairman of House Comm. on Banking and Currency from 1920 to 1931

“History records that the money changers have used every form of abuse, intrigue, deceit, and violent means possible to maintain their control over governments by controlling money and it’s issuance“

Quotes you will never see at Harvard:

“The Federal Reserve is one of the most corrupt institutions the world has ever seen. There is not a man within the sound of my voice who does not know that this Nation is run by the international bankers.”
      – Congressman Louis T. McFadden, Chairman of the House Banking and Currency Committee, June 20, 1932
      (subsequently poisoned to death)

“Behind the ostensible government sits enthroned an INVCISIBLE GOVERNMENT owing no allegiance and acknowledging no responsibility to the people. To destroy this INVISIBLE GOVERNMENT, to befoul the unholy alliance between corrupt business and corrupt politics is the first task of the statesmanship of today.”
      – Theodore Roosevelt

“This [Federal Reserve Act] establishes the most gigantic TRUST on earth. When the President Wilson signs this bill, the INVISIBLE GOVERNMENT of the monetary power will be legalized….the worst legislative crime of the ages is perpetrated by this banking and currency bill. From now on, depressions will be scientifically created.”
      – Charles A. Lindbergh, Sr., 1913

“I am afraid that the ordinary citizen will not like to be told that the banks can and do CREATE money, and they who control the credit of the nation direct the policies of governments and hold in their hands the destiny of the people.”

So, Morgan gets his azz handed to him one more time by Jones (see Jesse Ventura, Ted Nugent, and Joshua Boston)–and, then, he brings on Dershowitz to engage in a mutual admiration society, passive-aggressive attacks on Alex Jones. It’s all a set-up. Jones was expecting a three-way debate with both Morgan and Dershowitz. That would’ve been an awesome encounter. Jones would’ve killed two birds with one stone.

Either Piers made the decision to eliminate Jones from the third segment, or Dershowitz didn’t have the ****** to face Jones directly.

Some Harvard professors are blatantly blind to the facts, seeing only the exceptions to the rule, as though every single statement of fact, must have no exceptions. That does not , in any way, preclude the FACT that guns are quintessentially American.

But, it’s not unusual for Harvard professors to be unable to see facts, clearly. Today, it was announced that one of them said that this country does not have a spending problem. You can address your reply to : The Harvard Professor, 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., Washington, DC.

However, if people outside the cities want to arm themselves to the teeth because that is what they believe in, then let it be so. I choose the latter. Personally, as I am a minority, I can only remember one time that I was exposed to true and unadulterated racism. My boss overheard it, and fired the guy, on the spot. I would hardly qualify that as on par with what my ancestors had to endure. Nobody owes me a damn thing. If I can earn it, I will have what I need.

Alex makes Dershowitz look almost like a reasonable man. As I said yesterday, that part of the show was funny. I agree with some, and I repeat “some” of the things that Jones says. But, this is the culpable part of that particular episode. Jones merely played an expected part to make both Piers and Dershowitz appear to be decent, thoughtful men. So, really, this bozos job is just regurgitate what we already know or can look up on our own. So, how do you get ahead or get noticed in this field of “study”? That he fought hard and long as part of OJ Simpsons defense team shows me he cares about “theory” and nothing whatsoever about justice…therefore, I could care less what his opinion is on anything…he is just a mouth spewing words with both hands out for his cut.

Its really time to segregate our society. Not by color or race but by conservatism, patriots and responsible Americans and on the other side of the coin would be the treasonous, lazy, cowardly , socialists liberals and democrats.

Missdagnytaggart, I state points of fact. Cause and effect are natural phenomena. Probability plays a role. And, some facts defy chance.

Is jerk not going to comment on anything Jewish, Israeli, Zionist, or Hebrew? What kind of question is that? Drooling and biting at the bit ring any bells? But I cite wiki crap and factual aryan blather that fits my nazi agenda and mixes in some history with the rabid hate and you can’t refute that and I am an officer and a gentlemen and blah blah blah lalalalalalalalalalalalala. He also aligns with Hamas, Hezbos, Islamic Jihad, and Al Gorezeera, the Iranian Republican Guard and skinheads, but that doesn’t matter.

    Alan Dershowitz,

you are purportedly an “educated” man… haven’t you read Guns, Germs & Steel? http://www.amazon.com/Guns-Germs-Steel-Fates-Societies/dp/0393317552

One third of the title is the reason why Europe colonized the Americas. So, yes – GUNS ARE quintessentially American. That’s a proven historical fact.
