Wife of Hamas Politician Says Woman’s Role Is to Instill Love of Jihad and Martyrdom in Her Children

A Palestinian woman named Umm Osama, the wife of Hamas Member of Parliament Khalil Al-Hayya, says in a television interview that a woman’s role is to instill a love of jihad and martyrdom in her children.

In an interview that was originally broadcast last month, which the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) has now translated, Umm Osama said:

Women in Palestine play a great role in raising their children and in encouraging them to wage Jihad for the sake of Allah. This is absolutely the most glorious thing a woman can do. Women play their role and are not inferior to men. When a man goes to wage Jihad, his wife does not say “Don’t go” or try to stop him. She encourages and supports him. She is the one who prepares his equipment, bids him farewell, and welcomes [his Jihad].

She instills in her children the love of Jihad and martyrdom for the sake of Allah. If every mother were to prevent her son from waging Jihad for the sake of Allah, who would wage Jihad? Who would support Palestine? Palestine is dear to us, and its price is paid with our body remains and our lifeblood.

Is not Allah’s reward precious? Allah’s reward is Paradise. Paradise requires from us our blood, our body remains, and our efforts for its sake.[...]

Sister, Jihad is ordained for us. It is our duty to wage Jihad, because either we wage Jihad or…

Interviewer: We want to die as martyrs.

Umm Osama: Indeed we do. I am constantly praying: “Allah, make the end of our days be in martyrdom.” I pray for this even for my husband and my children. None of us want to die in our beds. We pray that Allah will grant us Paradise.

The interview originally aired on Al-Aqsa TV, the official Hamas television station that is based in Gaza.

In November, two Al-Aqsa TV cameramen were killed in an Israeli air raid on Gaza during the escalation in violence in which Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists rained more than 1,500 rockets and missiles at Israeli towns.

Forget for a moment how evil are her words, how utterly bankrupt her bloody religion.

Instead think about what she is saying in American terms, and how attractive it is to a teenage boy or young man.

(1) Die with your boots on, not in a bed.
(2) Die fighting the enemies of god, and all that is right; instead of living a meaningless and unremarkable life.
(3) A righteous woman will love you and adore you if you go to battle against the enemies of god.
(4) Better to die with honor than live like vermin.
(5) When you die, god himself will usher you into paradise where you will eternally eat, drink, and have sex with beautiful women.
(6) You will be honored in death by your friends, family; and die a hero, remembered forever.

These are damned powerful incentives, even if they are nebulous fantasy.

When I read her words I got a chill, because I remember the teenager I was, wishing to do somthing heroic, and remarkable. To live an adventure etc… As evil and unjustified are her words, what young man who is living a hopeless life in Palestine would not find at least a part of him hearkening to her sirens call?

This is dangerous stuff.

  now that I think of what you said, you are absolutely right. They make it sound like it’s something good but when you take a step back you see what they are really fighting for; Kill everything that you don’t like or agree with. If you want something, take it, even if you have to do it forcibly. Intolerance is their creed and to die while killing others is their drive.

  Note: When this warning was given for the new year, 1988, the U.S. was funding Bin Laden and training the army he gathered. Later that year Bin Laden formed Al Qaeda. But history notes that Bin Laden and Yasser Arafat were both radical militants associated with the Muslim Brotherhood (which sponsors Hamas, the present Palestinian leadership). We may not have seen the ties then. But God’s spiritual messengers tried to warn us. Still, we could listen, and change the course of our world.

We talk about peer pressure. We talk about kids learning from kids. Yet our experts in the state run public education system say only experts can teach our children. Really?

Yet in Islam, where educating women is against the law, women are able to teach their children to kill, to give up their life to kill.

What is wrong with the Department of Education’s expert’s statement? Slums are growing, rural communities shrinking, and U.S. educational standing in the world falling. Why are we still listening to these experts?

no news here… the poor woman is PROPERTY. to say other than what she said would invite a beating or worse. faced with her own life or the life of her children, presumably a son, who is the miniature of his father, she might welcome his pursuit of martyrdom in a twisted displacement of her suppressed rage at being a slave to religion.

and that, my friends, is exactly what you are looking at, a SLAVE in modern times, with no rights, no property, and no free will.

Strange that ‘liberated’ women are willing to stand silently as this woman’s husband and those like him trample innocents and try to spread their radical version of islam everywhere, destroying any that oppose them… if left unchecked, ultimately these ‘liberated’ women will see their daughters or granddaughters become this woman, property of a man, numbly parroting the only thing she has been allowed to learn… what a man deems relevant and ‘true.’

To ensure that they are protected at all times. To keep them from harm and danger whenever and wherever possible. To tend to them when they are sick. To provide a loving home for them. I had no idea that her true role was to turn them into mindless killers and to praise them for it. Silly me… But what do I know? I’m only married to a wonderful man and we have 3 children, none of whom I would ever encourage to become a murdering freak. Must be that whole infidel thing I got going on… ;)
