Biden: Obama May Use ‘Executive Orders’ to Crack Down on Guns

Earlier today, Vice President Joe Biden addressed the ongoing discussion and debate surrounding gun control. Rather than relying strictly upon the legislative process, he said that Obama “is going to act” — and potentially without Congress’ blessing.
Before meeting with gun safety and victims’ groups, the vice president told reporters that “executive orders” may be an avenue that the administration will use to take swift action on firearms.
“There are executives orders, there’s executive action that can be taken,” he said. “We haven’t decided what that is yet. But we’re compiling it all with the help of the attorney general and the rest of the cabinet members as well as legislative action that we believe is required.”
As the Weekly Standard notes, Biden stressed the importance, in his view, of taking action to curb gun violence. He also said that he is convinced that the government “can affect the well-being of millions of Americans and take thousands of people out of harm’s way” — pending officials “act responsibly.”
Even if Obama attempts to take unilateral action, Biden indicated that legislation is still “required.”

Posted on January 9, 2013 at 2:15pmI just wrote my governor telling her and the governor elect to write the president and tell him to stop terrorizing us. I asked that it include that the military and LE of our state will not participate or support any action regarding the 2 Amendment.
Yes, i stuck my head up. But, I didn’t mention the fact that all of the guns that I have seen go through my household were burned in an accidental boating accident at a gun show.
I don’t do militia things, except that I am an American man. Starting to war game what and how the gun grab may go down. Hard to be realistic about it, though.

The only way our country isn’t going to end up with socialism/communism is if gun owners/conservatives stood up, said enough, and took back over. That won’t happen until they say, “We’re on our way to confiscate your guns”.
If they say we’re not letting you buy magazines of this size, or whatever we decide an “assault rifle” this time, gun owners/cons will buy up whatever is left, bury/secure where the guns are they already have and sit on them… They won’t go to war over a smaller violation of the 2A (as there have been plenty already so far that havent led to CWII), just an outright abolition of it. They’d be stupid to actually confiscate, that would set it off. They know it. They will have a few call for confiscation/extreme measure then say “See look, we compromised at a Registration”
They need decades of MORE indoctrination against guns through the media/schools to try to take the guns peacefully. But how many keyboard commandos are going to jump up and arm themselves about a gov’t that requires us to register our guns? What if it’s only some? What if it’s all of them?

Civil wars and uprisings are never pretty and there is no such thing as non-combatants in a civil war. They are bloody, vile, and dirty. Leftists who think that a civil war would be just a bunch of hicks hiding in the woods while the special forces hunt them down in the wilds of Alabama are sorely mistaken. It’ll be just outside your suburban homes, rifle shots flying from just down the street, political offices bombed and burned, houses burned, concentration camps for dissidents.. all the horrible dystopian fascist images from literature and movies brought to reality. Being ready for something like this should create a sick feeling in the pit of your stomach, but this is where the Fascists have lead society. Is anyone really ready for a real physical confrontation with the Fascists? All it takes is 1 in 10 or even 1 in 20 gun owners to horribly outnumber all the cops, and US military combined. 4-8 million snipers and partisans.

It would be a monumental task to even confescate military style firearms (I refuse to call them asault weapons). They would literaly need the Military to do it and that’s only to find the legally owned firearms because they were purchased through a licenced dealer. All they can do is ban the sell of large capacity clips, tax the daylights out of ammo, make it so difficult to purchase a firearm most will just not bother and make it a Federal Crime if caught with any at one time legally owned semi-automatic firearm. This would doom any gun ranges, retail firearm stores etc. and put thousands out of work. I don’t think they are thinking this through and that the POTUS thinks just by flexing his executive muscles we will all bow in obedience.

He will most likely do something like he is doing now with the banks, the Chicago way. The banks are being pressured by the administration to cease doing business with manufacturers of guns and gun products. He will do the same here, most likely with insurance companies, pressuring them into requiring expensive million dollar liability policies for anyone owning what the left calls an “assault rifle”. It may not be exactly that approach, but it will be something like that, thought up by Cass Sunnstein.

It was written to prevent people like you from enslaving them. I have a feeling that the American people will use their “privilidges” granted them in the constitution to take swift action against any leader and government that attempts to usurp their authority as our founding fathers so wisely recognized that they would eventually try and do. People also swore that obamacare would never pass. It did.
People swore that the supreme court would not uphold obamacare. They did.
People swore that obama would not get re-elected.He did.
This country has slid a long way in the last four years, almost to the point of surrealism.
In defense of the second amendment It is one thing to throw out the macho line, “from my cold, dead fingers”, and actually have to face down that decision in the face of many loaded weapons pointed at you. Before you respond, stop and think about what that REALLY means. Many may have that decision to make.
The fact is that this administration has no fear of the populace. The media is complicit in shouting down and vilifying any dissenting voices. This potential move is that last act. This is the action to which all else they have done is pointing. DO NOT underestimate them! The prologue will be a dictatorship.
Is what they are doing foolish? Yes.
Is it unconstitutional? Definitely.
Do they care? No.
Can they pull it off? Look at what else they have done in four years and answer for yourself.
Good or bad, history is about to be made. How it turns out depends on how many people are actually willing to cash the checks with their lives that they are writing with their mouths. Where do you really stand?

People talk about revolution, as if it’s 1776, but I don’t see anyone actually do anything.
Something tells me this will be no different.
Because the bottom line is that a lone person isn’t going to do anything but get themselves killed.
And if any of you tried to organized, you’d just draw attention and get yourselves arrested.
Obama knows this, which is why he will do it and get away with it.
And if he does it and some of you try to do anything, he’ll just declare martial law, and suspend the Constitution, which is probably what he wants anyway.

Executive Orders will follow stopping ammo sales as well and then gun manufacturing, only US companies of course. All US military purchases will be done through Chinese arms manufacturers until further notice.
Then the Media will “praise the savior of us all” from the right wing hate mongers that kill for no reason and save the children from crazy Tea Party and Prepper people.
As it works to the SCOTUS, all gun makers will go bankrupt, but Obama will never outlaw guns.. come on now, that is just crazy talk….(sarcasm overload)

George Washington issued several Presidential Proclamations, which are similar to EO’s (Proclamations are still issued today). Historically, they have had broader effect, such as the Emancipation Proclamation. A typical EO might instruct the government to do no business with a country we are at war with. It seems to me like it would be a good strategy for militias to start organizing across the country, then to start putting traitors (e.g., federal judges, IRS agents, etc.) on trial using citizen formed court proceedings. If we had 20,000 militia members from each state, that would be an army of 1,000,000 men. Surely we can find 20,000 men in each state who are ready to bring 536 traitors in DC and a few hundred traitors on federal benches to justice.

If people step up en masse, then all the people you claim of talking big, will step forward. A good percentage of them, will die & know that stepping forward but they will gladly do it, if they know it is a mass movement.

Justice Antonin Scalia, writing for the majority, applied New York v. United States to show that the law violated the Tenth Amendment. Since the act “forced participation of the State’s executive in the actual administration of a federal program”, it was unconstitutional.
We would ike to hear from the Govenors of States who will not comply with this unconstitutional executive order –
“Through 2010, resolutions have been introduced in the legislatures of 27 states that would nullify federal authority over such local firearms. The legislation passed in Montana and Tennessee in 2009 and in Alaska, Arizona, Idaho, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming the following year. South Carolina has taken the issue one step further: in 2010 a bill was introduced which would effectively nullify all gun registration laws within the state.Texas has prefiled and West Virginia has filed similar legislation for the current 2011 legislative session.”

Aye. Though to be honest, sitting in a house waiting for them to show up is not an optimal strategy. Mobility is key, as well as being able to take it to a hypothetical force that is against you, on your terms and in a way that they do not expect. We have a lot on our side, if you get down to studying classical and modern strategies and tactics, which I *HIGHLY* recommend everybody do, post haste.

The three classes H.R. 11654 provides for are the organized militia, henceforth known as the National Guard of the State, Territory and District of Columbia, the unorganized militia and the regular army. The militia encompasses every able-bodied male between the ages of 18 and 45. All members of the unorganized militia have the absolute personal right and 2nd Amendment right to keep and bear arms of any type, and as many as they can afford to buy.
The Dick Act of 1902 cannot be repealed; to do so would violate bills of attainder and ex post facto laws which would be yet another gross violation of the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The President of the United States has zero authority without violating the Constitution to call the National Guard to serve outside of their State borders.
