FreedomWorks Head Matt Kibbe Addresses GOP Division and Dick Armey’s Recent Split on ‘Real News’

It’s no secret that many Americans are frustrated with our lawmakers in Washington and their inability to get anything done without drawn-out, petty clashes that leave no one satisfied. Over the last four years we’ve gone from one showdown to another, from Cap-n-trade to health care reform to the debt crisis to fights over the Farm Bill to the Fiscal Cliff, and now a new debt ceiling showdown to start 2013.

The chaos, for better or worse, has weakened our political parties and their ability to bring members to a consensus, as well as given way to indulgences into the politically absurd. This week some are really debating whether minting a $1 trillion coin could be the answer to our problems.

On “Real News” Monday, the panel discussed this new era of “do-or-die politics,” and if these constant last minute showdowns on Capitol Hill are producing any positive results. The panel was also joined by Matt Kibbe of FreedomWorks to discuss the clash between new guard and old guard in the GOP, as well as the recent power struggles amongst Tea Party and conservative grassroots organizations, including the much publicized departure of Dick Armey from Kibbe’s own organization.

In CONTROL, Glenn Beck presents a passionate, fact-based case for guns that reveals why gun control isn’t really about controlling guns at all; it’s about controlling us. Find out more HERE.

Na… not even worth a click-to-play. Freedomworks is FAKE-TEA GOP. Their SOLE PURPOSE is to PRESERVE LEFTIST GOVERNMENT (as long as it’s republican) and CRUSH ANY attempt to strengthen third parties. They supported LEFTIST Romney and LEFTIST Ryan and REJECTED AND IGNORED CONSTITUTIONALIST Ron Paul. That’s why FAKE-TEA REPUBLICAN Glenn Beck is such a PERFECT fit. By their deeds, you will know them.

But, funny… how can a “grassroots” “tea party”… be involved in a power struggle? Is it just me…who sees a contradiction?

@soybomb315_II You are falling you are being used by the left and getting this completely wrong. Beck spoke multiple times about freedomworks wanting and paying for advertising with him(aka paying him money). It never was presented as anything different.

This not some surprise or evil trick or even new information. Freedomworks was one of there top three advertisers and Beck never tried to hide that. Now I never trusted or donated a penny because I knew that it was run by rino Dick Army.

I do find to seem Kibbe legit listening to him speak and give his opinion multiple times but I do question him for working for Armey in the first place.

If you’d have watched his show or maybe not a easily confused and tricked dummy/lemming (not that you are) like some you would know the difference.

This is just a misleading smear tactic by the left. There was never any confusion if you listen or watched the show and your brain is functioning.

    You’re being used.

So, this is where all the trolls are hanging out. I read a lot of dis-informed & outright nuts doing nothing but gripe & villify. Badmouth the Tea Party, villify Beck, yet I hear no input, no thoughts on what needs changed, where to start. At least the Tea Party, American Citizens, one & all, are working on something real & tangible. Just because you hear people like Pelosi & the media spout lies about the Tea Party, you take their word on the subject? Did you check into it, see what’s true? Yes. I AM a Tea Party Patriot. Damn proud of it!

Cut the BS and smell some roses or weeds or something beyond the same old flowers. Republicans and the non-existent TEA Party have been successfully portrayed as defenders of the rich. When Republicans and the TEA Party speak of broadening the base of tax payers, they mean to have the poor pay taxes (or that is the implication). Factually, many of the working poor do not pay Federal Income taxes because of modifications to the tax code made by the Bushes. Quit feeling sorry for the rich. The rich will always do fine no matter what. The rich are the ones who can afford to pay additional taxes without any modification of life style or investment. Also, it would not hurt for the exalted TEA Party to come up with some specific goals to cut government spending; they should name specific bureaucracies and by how much. Then come up with a plan on how to do it.

The GOP will never work for constitutional freedoms. They are working for themselves and their power. We need Freedom Works and other constitutional organizations to empower a real party of constitutionalists. Not another penny to the GOP.

This so-called “split” or partisan divide, is nothing more than an attempt by one group of Representatives to keep ANOTHER group of representatives from subverting our laws and Constitution into something our Founders would have gone to war about.

Compromising with evil only begets evil.

To me it seems the old guard repugnants use left wing tactics against conservatives and never against the leftists. It will be a long hard fight to get rid of the likes of Armey, Bonehead, McCain, McConnell, and others that are only concerned in remaining in DC. Deny money to the republican party, they try to defeat fiscal constitutional conservatives every chance they get. Here in Florida they poured money into the Crist campaign against Rubio, Crist lost and is now a dem. I believe McCain and McConnell also would make good dems.

you can tell whether something is a genuine movement by whether it is led by a person or by ideas….. When it is led by a person, it will fail. But when it is led by ideas, the movement grows and has a purpose.

Are they going to talk about the revelation that glenn beck took money from freedomworks? So does glenn like freedomworks because of their mission or because they give him money? Would any of you accept bribes from a charity? If freedomworks pays glenn beck to advertise for them in hopes of getting more donations, is that sort of like a ponzi scheme? According to this article, they paid glenn much more than they raised from it – shouldnt glenn be upset that he ended up hurting his own cause?

So advertising is now a ponzi scheme? Do other charities not advertise? I see the save a dog commercial all the time so your comments are not factually honest.

Freedomworks has a goal to get there message out and Glenn Beck agrees with that message, so he accepts there advertising dollars. And from what I understand, they have also partnered on other venures as well, because the believe they have similar goals. One company that has a goal and wants to invest in that goal, and another company that believe in the goal accepts the investment dollars to further that goal, and both companies benefit from the partnership. That’s not a ponzi scheme its called capitalism!

@Jeremya76, Glenn Beck took $1 million from Freedom Works and then worked his endorsement into his broadcasts without ever revealing he was a paid endorser. Raised $1.3 million for Freedom Works from amongst his fans. In other words, Freedom Works paid Beck to get a $300, 000 return, it cost them three times what it made them. Armey also resented the fact that his name and likeness were used at the Restoring Love thing in August and he was outraged that Beck charged folks like you over $900 to attend Freedom Works events. Armey also says Matt Kibbe used Freedom Works funds and personnel to write a book for which he took sole credit and all the profits.

@DesertRose1960 I went to Restoring Love and paid $10 for that event, and $25 for the FreedomWorks event that Dick Armey even spoke at, There were some more exclusive event to help pay for the event so I could get in for $10. If he was so outraged, why did he go ahead and share the stage with Beck at Freedomworks event? And he waits till after the election to go public with this. Would he had left if Romney won? The timing was pretty suspicious for something that suposedly happened over the summer.
