Hobby Lobby Finds a Way to Delay Contraception Mandate Requirement

Hobby Lobby Finds a Way to Delay Contraception Mandate Requirement for Months

FILE – In this Sept. 12, 2012 file photo, a woman walks from a Hobby Lobby Inc., store in Little Rock, Ark. Christian pastors plan to deliver petitions to Hobby Lobby officials in protest of the Oklahoma-based company s lawsuit challenging health care guidelines that require the coverage of the morning-after pill. OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — An attorney for Oklahoma City-based Hobby Lobby says the company has found a way to delay providing insurance coverage for emergency contraceptives as required under the federal health care law.

Peter Dobelbower said in a statement Thursday that the company will shift the plan year for employee health insurance that will delay by several months the Jan. 1 effective date of the requirement.

Hobby Lobby did not return phone calls seeking further comment.

Hobby Lobby sued to overturn the mandate on grounds that it violates the religious beliefs of founder and CEO David Green and his family. The Greens say requiring insurance for what is known as “morning-after” and “week-after” pills forces them to either violate their religious beliefs or face hefty fines.

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor denied the companies’ request for an injunction while the lawsuit is pending.

Hobby Lobby has become my favorite store to shop.

I own a small business and because of all these new taxes and mandates, I’m afraid i will need to lay off 2 workers by the end of the month. Well just so happens that I know for sure that 2 out of my 10 employees voted for obama, guess whos getting canned?

The best way to ensure the demise of the Democratic Future is to have more abortions. Democrats have 4 of every 5 abortions (actually it’s 83%) but who’s counting? It’s a Democrat.

Freedom of Religion, the most important freedom. A persons’ deepest beliefs. Freedom of thought practiced. Depending on your beliefs, it took thousands or millions of years to get the Bill of Rights. Freedom of Religion is the first line in the first Amendment. Obama took it away with a cool stroke of a pen. That’s Progress.

what many people FAIL to understand/comprehend is that it is not the job or duty of an employer to provide healthcare insurance to their employees. The only things an employer has to give the employee is wages for the work the employee performs for the employer. Everything else such as vacation, medical/dental/life/accident insurance, retirement pensions/plans, days off, etc. is BENIFITS – NOT RIGHTS OR ENTITLEMENTS. And an employer does not have to give an employee anything else other than wages for the work they perform for the employer.

OBAMACARE IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL AND ILLEGAL !!!

As a business owner and employer, I give my employees a 40 hour work week, 2 days a week off (Saturday and Sunday), two weeks unpaid vacation, no healthcare/life/accident insurance, 5 holiday days w/ no pay, no retirement pension/plan, no education benefits, no stock options or anything else. I pay them for the work they perform and that’s it.

I keep it sweet and simple.

Most people don’t realize that money to give people a paid holiday has to come from somewhere, and it always comes from paying the employees less on the other days. It either comes from the last raise you didn’t get or the next raise that you don’t get.

Goes deeper — bear in mind that under statutory authority, the mother corp runs the commerce –. Obammy knows this (he studied law — it ain’t that tough — just APPEARS convoluted and complex). He knows exactly what he’s doing and what businesses he’s going to allow to prosper, and which ones are ‘targeted’ for dismantling…. regulate them out of existence.

Yeah, people are entitled to health benefits. It’s part of their pay. The company buys them insurance in order to make up for not paying them enough to buy their own. This benefits everybody, since the employer can get a better price buying dozens of policies than the employees could buying them one at a time. Since it is part of their pay, the employer has no more business trying to dictate what kind of medical services employees can use it to pay for than they would trying to tell them what they can or cannot spend their cash on.

Sotamayor is a radical she should have never been confirmed, her history is one of extreme racism towards non Hispanics and she is willing to fulfill any agenda regardless of the letter of the law or the constitution. If anyone shouldn’t have a right to stop an injunction this radical shouldn’t, congress didn’t do their homework and totally dropped the ball, but the media sure gave her a pass!

Yes, I guess you are right, but why give in to tyranny? Fight it.
What you are suggesting is to punish your employees by not offering them a health care plan. Then Hobby Lobby looks bad and Obama can blame them for all sorts of things that happen to their employees. That is the Obama tactic: make everyone else look bad, so he can get away with being the worst guy in the room.

It is their business, It should be their choice to offer whatever insurance they want, or none at all. Soon you will be told what you can drive, eat, where you can live and whom you can associate with. Live with your lips attached to obama’s backside and you will continue to see only his backside, not the liberties slipping away. One more BIG reason to protect 2nd Amendment rights…

Her great-grandfather was the first African-American to graduate from MIT. Her grandfather was the first African American to head the Chicago Housing Authority and her father, Dr. James Bowman, a specialist in hematology and pathology, became the first black resident at Chicago’s St. Luke’s Hospital.
