President Obama and Afghan leader Hamid Karzai met at the White House Friday to discuss aid packages and announce that the U.S. military will end its combat mission in Afghanistan this spring, and shift instead to a supporting role. This timeline features an earlier exit than expected by several months.

Joined by Malou Innocent of the Cato Institute, the ‘Real News’ panel discussed the White House announcement Friday, the American objective in Afghanistan, and what’s next for the country itself now that the U.S. is beginning its exit.

U.S. out of afghanistan now.
Blood is on the hands of the press of this country for giving Obama a free pass on a non-existant foreign policy. We have a state sponsored press.

Very simple really, we depart, Talaban & Al Queida return. Then, when both ‘presidential’ cretens are out of office, we get to return and do it all over again.

The USSR failed in Afghanistan. We failed in Afghanistan. Gee – no one could see that coming…

Idiots! Time to recall all US military from around the world. We can’t afford it, we are wasting American lives for nothing, and we need them to protect our borders (they reason they exist).
