Rot in Hell, Holmes!: Fathers Angry Outburst After Aurora Suspect James Holmes Arraignment Postponed

The father of a woman shot to death in the Aurora movie theater massacre shouted “Rot in hell, Holmes!” during a court hearing Friday.

The man, identified as Steven Hernandez, the father of 32-year-old victim Rebecca Wingo, made the outburst after Colorado District Judge William Sylvester delayed James Holmes’ arraignment until March.

Sylvester ruled Thursday that there was enough evidence for Holmes to stand trial on charges that he killed 12 people and injured 70 others last summer, but on Friday granted a defense request to postpone arraignment so they could have more time to prepare. Arraignment is where Holmes will enter either a guilty or not guilty plea. Prosecutors opposed the delay.

The postponement angered many family members of the massacre victims, and that’s when Hernandez stood up and shouted, “Rot in hell, Holmes!”

The judge had a talk with Hernandez, who apologized and promised there would be no more outbursts. Sylvester was sympathetic.

“I am terribly sorry for your loss and I can only begin to imagine the emotions that are raging,” Sylvester told him.

Most of these judges make me sick – no there is no way anyone can understand what a family member goes through with something like this. I understand he should not have done it but no that judge has no flippin idea.

And unless the father learns to forgive. He will be right next to him in hell. Look at all the anger he has now. He need to forgive this person and move on. If not, it will be an open sore and will fester and over time will consume him. Please forgive.

If the judge truly understood what the victims parent was going through then the judge would turn the suspect over to Hernandez and justice would be done! Case closed!

I firmly believe that NO information should be printed or posted about anything regarding the Holmes case. Only privately to family members and those involved. It’s why these freaks go on a rampage is for the attention. Holmes needs to slip into oblivion and his name left OUT of the news!

Is it crazy to think this trial is being broadcast each day, each hour to influence the 2nd amendment?This crime screams that this man had an obsession with visiting a gun free zone,thus a coward.What ever happened to the electric chair ,Oh yeah, the electricity prices are suppose to necessarily sky rocket, but why not stamp out a trillion dollar coin for that………….Bullies will self distruct !

The 6th Ammendment,(speedy trial) should also apply to the victims of the crime.
The prosecution may not excessively delay the trial, for it’s own advantage.
Well, how about the ‘defense-team’, he’s been in jail for 6 months
and still ‘they’ need more time, to make a plea.
Judge, for the ‘lives’ of the victims’ families; Lets get this trial ‘on the road’.

  I’d like to know where an unemployed,medical school drop out has the $ to afford all the firepower &u body armour he supposedly used. I’d also like to replay witnesses testimonies on how gas cans were being thrown from another direction away from the suspect. Games over people. Turn the TV off. And start praying to which ever God you choose. Because all of these shootings are baby steps. Well timed,and well planned baby steps. Toward……..

  For one of the first times i fully agree with you on this. Speed this up already. Everyone knows this psycho is guilty. If this is over a psych evaluation to determine whether he was sane when it happened, it is a no brainer. You cant do that much planning ahead of time to be “insane.” But alas, it seems that this is far from over.

We know the drill with these cases he’ll die of old age in prison when he should be executed immediately upon conviction. This isn’t a who done it,for those of you who voted for Barry and want to ban guns that means we know he’s the killer.
