‘Fighting and Throwing Chairs’: Riot Explodes as Thousands Seek Housing Vouchers in Mich.

Thousands Riot for Section 8 Housing Vouchers in Taylor, Michigan

Applicants for Section 8 housing vouchers in Taylor, Michigan went wild Saturday after authorities asked thousands to return another time, CBS Detroit relates.

Apparently, somewhere between 3,000 and 5,000 turned out– some waiting in line all night– but only 1,000 vouchers were available.

CBS Detroit explains:

When it came time for the vouchers to be distributed, police said there was a mad rush for the door, with people jockeying for position to be the first inside the building. Officers tried to control the crowd, but couldn’t. Fearing the situation was more than they could handle, event organizers shut the entire thing down and turned off the lights inside the building. Witnesses say that’s when things really got ugly.

Star Lee, of Romulus, described the scene as complete chaos.

“People just don’t have order to themselves, you know what I mean? People were fighting and throwing chairs, and that’s just not necessary…”

Candice Wacasey, of Taylor, said she was frightened.

“When the lights went out, it went horrible. People started trampling over people, there was a disabled lady that was in a wheelchair, and they was trying to knock her over to get in front of her. I mean, just crazy,” she said.  [Emphasis added]

And those who were willing to knock over a disabled woman for a crack at government subsidized housing certainly weren’t going to let a few kids get in the way, according to witnesses.

“There was people who was physically putting their hands on people’s childs (sic) and moving them. It was unbelievable,” Lenny Syer said.

But many were more troubled by the fact that thousands may have to forgo government assistance a bit longer.

“There was elderly, disabled people, pregnant single women. They were here for help, to get their Section 8 vouchers.  It just shows you what a desperate need [there is]… some were here since yesterday,” Rhianna Rodriguez told ABC 7.

Authorities say they will examine what went wrong on Saturday to determine how to best reschedule the event.

ABC 7 has more, including interviews with a number of the attendees:

Obama is a fan of Frances Fox Piven. She is a co-author of the Cloward-Piven Strategy, along with her deceased radical spouse. It expouses overburdening the federal government with entitlements until it collapses, whereupon capitalism will be supplanted with socialism (Marxism). Obama seems to be doing just that: 46 milllion on food stamps, 8.3 million on SSDI disability, 47% paying no income tax, 60% of families receiving some form of non-retirement benefit, expanding unemployment benefits for the longest term ever, and a true unemplyment rate of about 18%. Congratulations on achieving your goal Mr Obama.

Virtually every single mom occupied Section 8 house has a freeloading man living in it. If people were married our poverty and social pathologies would be a fraction of what they are today.

I believe this is what one faces after reelecting a man who saw those living in poverty as a voting block and his ticket to being reelected.

The entitlement society has really come to be since we elected our socialist President. He will continue those policies as long as he rules this office. His next step is to increase the national debt ceiling without the help of Congress. He is truly Imperial.

Do away with Section 8 and replace it with tent complexes. Only the truly needy would line up for that.

This happened a few weeks ago in another MI town w/a lot of Muslim women trying to get “Freebie Housing”. Anybody interested in buying a home in MI? We live too close to Benton Harbor, unless they burn down the bridges, this will be coming to my side of the river!

Do you ever wonder why certain people are never out of poverty? Who would want to hire people who demonstrate such a lack of basic values and concience and can’t control themselves? Who would want to build a business near them? Rotten and selfish behavior, including the trash left behind.

I saw coats worth hundreds of dollars, I-Phones, smoking, gold teeth, SUVs, fancy leather shoulder bags, (in one case a woman with two) and a bunch of low (to no) information obama voters who want me to subsidise their living accomodations so they can afford more of the same and freely propagate!

Vunnables rioting to get put on the reservation. Sad. This is what generational welfare has done – make slaves to the state begging for amenities they want but don’t want to pay for.

How stupid is it to handle any event like this with a “mob rule” policy.

The states know how to run a lottery, they don’t announce a prize then let the mobs come to fight over the available tickets.

A sign-up period on-line or at govt locations or both, let the people sign up, then use a random selection of those that signed up, and announce the winning numbers.

No need for mobs or fights. Of course it would help if fraud wasn’t the deciding factor, but when dealing with any govt plan, fraud is usually at it’s core.

Did you notice the way the anchor referred to the people as a “crowd”.? Clearly this is a racist word…referring to Black people. It should be banned from further use. Along with “teens” and “youths”. Anyone who uses the term “crowd”…should be labeled a racist…and fired.

This is exactly why we the people, need “Assault” type weapons and high cap magazines. In a crisis, be it real or perceived, you can’t beat back a mob who is hell bent on taking what is yours with a pistol, shotgun or bolt action.

I have a novel idea – lower taxes, the rents would be lower and people could afford to pay their rent. Where I live property taxes are so high, which leads to higher rents – it is one big circle jerk. Why are taxes so high, to pay for all those government pensions, and government employees to hand out all those government vouchers. Hurricane Sandy was the best thing to hit NY and NJ (sad but true) in a long time – the money from Hurricane Irene was spent in 6 weeks and none of the damage was repaired. NY and NJ are in deep pension debt.
