NRA President: No Way an Assault Weapons Ban Will Pass…Unless Obama Uses ‘All the Power of His Office’

NRA President: No Way an Assault Weapons Ban Will Pass Congress Unless Obama Uses All the Power of His Office

National Rifle Association President David Keene said Sunday he doesn’t think there’s enough support to get a new assault weapons ban passed in Congress, unless President Barack Obama uses “all the power of his office” and changes the game.

Keene said on CNN’s “State of the Union” that there’s not enough legislative support for another ban “right now,” but that might not necessarily hold.

“When a president takes all the power of his office and he’s willing to expend political capital, you don’t want to make predictions — you don’t want to, you don’t want to bet your house on the outcome,” Keene said. “I would say that the likelihood is that they’re not going to be able to get an assault weapons ban through this Congress.”

Keene said he doesn’t think regulations on high-capacity ammunition clips are likely either, saying they would be difficult to regulate because they’re so widespread.

“Even David Gregory could find one,” he said, after the NBC host was investigated by Washington, D.C. police for holding a magazine up on television last month.

Vice President Joe Biden is set to deliver his recommendations to Obama on dealing with gun violence following the elementary school massacre in Newtown, Conn. Recommendations could include universal background checks and restrictions on the types of weapons and magazines people are allowed to own.

“The fact is that we live in a society where first of all, we have constitutional rights, and secondly, there are millions upon millions of Americans who value the rights that they have under the Second Amendment…and we think they’re going to be heard,” Keene said.

Didn’t the commie in chief tell someone that he would be doing things “under the radar” to get gun controls in place. I thought he also said his administration would be the most transparent in history. I wonder what he’s doing under the radar?

I think he was referring to Fast and Furious, which was under the radar until some ATF whistleblowers exposed what was going on. I wouldnt be surprised if Eric Holder also put the Sandy Hook operation together as well. Under the radar,of course.

Eric Holder was the guy that said Americans needed to be brainwashed to detest guns. What better way to mass brainwash the public against guns,by using guns to murder their children? I think Obama and Eric Holder are evil, and would stop at nothing to force their will and vision of America on an unsuspecting public, who are naive enough to believe they have our best interests in mind.

The first known ancestor of multi-shot weapons was created by James Puckle, a London lawyer, who patented what he called “The Puckle Gun” on May 15, 1718. It was a design for a 1 in. (25.4 mm) caliber, flintlock revolver cannon able to fire 9 rounds before reloading, intended for use on ships.[5] According to Puckle, it was able to fire round bullets at Christians and square bullets at Turks.[5] While ahead of its time, foreshadowing the designs of revolvers, it was not adopted or produced.
In 1777, Philadelphia gunsmith Joseph Belton offered the Continental Congress a “new improved gun”, which was capable of firing up to twenty shots in five seconds, automatically, and was capable of being loaded by a cartridge. Congress requested that Belton modify 100 flintlock muskets to fire eight shots in this manner, but rescinded the order when Belton’s price proved too high

@keatonc33. Assuming that you are part of the liberal base that doesn’t agree with conservatives or constitutionalists, the question is:
What do you want for the U.S.A.?…
    Politically?
    Socially?
    Economically?
    Personally?

The NRA is not about gun owners, its for gun makers. The NRA cares little about the tiny caskets, instead the NRA fills their puppet Beckerheads/Tea Baggers with lies and conspiracy theories to enlarge the merchants of death’s bank accounts.

The NRA has well over four million members and your telling us that the gun and munition manufactures are the ones who keep them in business? What in the world has tiny caskets to do with your 2nd amendment rights as a citizen? You don’t make sense at all. Are you suggesting that only tea baggers (whatever that is) and beckerheads (whatever that means) are the only people that own a weapon in this country? Are you saying that no democrat owns a weapon? Would it shock you to know that this guy who murdered these kids had a mother who was a democrat? I’m not stating that as a fact but only asking you a question.

By the way– Are all of our armed forces only beckerheads and tea baggers? I didn’t realize that we had a Republican Marine Corps. Always thought it was United States Marine Corps. Man you are really out there. You must be a recreational weed eater. Now Mr. weed eater would you be so generous as to share your great knowledge and list these lies and conspiracies.

Another deficiency of the many those on the left have, grammar. Commas deliniate thought. 1st thought, a well regulated militia, 2nd, being necessary to the security of a Free State (notice Free State in caps) meaning, a means to protect oneself w/in a free state, and to keep that Free State free from tyrannically minded “people”. 3rd, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, 4th, shall not be infringed. All independent, separate, non-blendable thoughts, put to paper, voted on, legislated, and then put into law. Except, for lawless bolsheviks, and their slavish drones and trolls to misinterpret and prevaricate upon 2+ centuries later, to make the whole “enemies w/in” easier to come to fruition.

It seems to me the entire media, including FOX news, are doing their best to push the narrative that ALL Americans want more gun control. I dispute this by pointing to the records being set for FBI background checks for new gun purchases. The media seems to be pulling out all the stops to push the gun control agenda,as if the world stopped moving, and nothing else is going on. The media is really showing their anti American leanings and disdain for Constitutional rights and the American citizen.

Barrys media will work closely with him to infringe on our right to bear arms and I think they’re doing the slow death of the 2nd. They’ll keep passing unconstitutional laws violating the 2nd and over time people will become conditioned to believe we no longer have that right. Eventually some future regime will try confiscation, only if they think the number of legal gun owners is small enough to pull it off.

the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”
Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution

When a collectivist reads that they see the word ‘regulated’ and they go orgasmic with all the possibilities they can think of to infrige on our right to bear arms. A constitutionalist like myself sees the words ‘shall not be infringed’ and it’s crystal clear, congress can’t make a law infringing on our right to bear arms because it would violate the 2nd amendment. Every ‘gun law’ passed since the second amendment is unconstitutional and I don’t care how many collectivists ie communist heathen howl and scream to the contrary they’re wrong.

Keaton: Further comments in re: “Well Regulated”
The Random House College Dictionary (1980) gives four definitions for the word “regulate,” which were all in use during the Colonial period and one more definition dating from 1690 (Oxford English Dictionary, 2nd Edition, 1989). They are:
    1) To control or direct by a rule, principle, method, etc.
2)To adjust to some standard or requirement as for amount, degree, etc.
    3) To adjust so as to ensure accuracy of operation.
    4) To put in good order. [obsolete sense], Of troops: Properly disciplined. Obs. rare-1.
“…a well-regulated militia was synonymous with one being thoroughly trained, disciplined, and well-functioning. That description fits most closely with the “to put in good order” definition supplied by the Random House dictionary. The Oxford dictionary’s definition also appears to fit if one considers discipline in a military context to include or imply well-trained.”
“What about the Amendment’s text itself? Considering the adjective “well” and the context of the militia clause, which is more likely to ensure the security of a free state, a militia governed by numerous laws (or the proper amount of regulation [depending on the meaning of "well"] ) or a well-disciplined and trained militia? This also suggests “to put in good order” is the correct interpretation of well regulated, signifying a well disciplined, trained, and functioning militia.”

Keaton: This post is lengthy and therefore broken into several segments; URL is included. Once you get away from the approved rhetoric for a second and really consider the SPIRIT of the wording rather than trying to apply today’s meanings to rather archaic language you may see the actual intent of the phrase, and therefore the statement.
Look at the spirit of the phrase and quit getting hung up on the exact lettering and trying to re-explain it in today’s terminology. In fact, try learn actual English language and step back for just a moment from the schoolyard name-calling and vitriol.
That meanings of words will change, and their use as well, is inevitable. Rarely today would you hear anything spoken in Old-English (as in Biblical or archaic poetic prose), and like unto it is the Cockney version of English (once used for speaking in a kind of code), and far more rare is Gaelic.

None of these would have the same meanings, inferences, or spirit of intent as today’s English and so to understand the meanings therein requires study and perseverance thereof; and so I return to my point. Following is a URL to a bit of enlightenment as to likely meaning and spirit of intent. Following that is an excerpt from that page regarding only the word “regulated” as found in the second amendment.

multiclip is when you clip two or more clips together so that all you have to do is rotate the clips rather than reach into a holster or vest to grab another clip. Besides what rambo does this crap unless they are wannabe’s anyway. I guess having all those clips makes it more scary to look at.

If we allow ourselves to be seperated and dealt with one against the many our efforts make no head way. Stop support these types through the money you spend, do not go to movies featuring these racist socialist radial liberals, do not buy their books, do not buy their goods and do not contribute towards their charities. Do not become seperated from your core beliefs because of want of approval or petty urges. And never ever assist or allow acts of kindness or compashion towards those who would eliminate your opinon or beliefs to their false prophets. The power to resist must be giuided by your core belief in yourself not some false attractive offering which would have you sell your beliefs in order to be accepted,,,,,,,,,,,Yea it is tough and you may not have alot of friends, but were they friends who sold themselves and their core beliefs to be accepted. I correct myself. there was a gun found in the truck.. though it was NOT the .223 AR15 bushmaster it was a type of shotgun.
Vance can stick his official story where the sun doesn’t shine. Ms. Kelly is correct. I’ve spoken face to face with the state police. The AR NEVER made it into the school. It was destroyed when Lanza used it like a club to break the glass to gain access to the school. All of the victims were shot with one of the 2 hand guns, a 9mm Glock and a 40 cal. Sig.
But the truth doesn’t fit the agenda.
P.S. the Connecticut state police are livid about the gag order and the fairy tail that people are being told in the mean time.
