Vice President Joe Biden on Monday told a group of sympathetic House Democrats that the White House has identified 19 executive actions President Barack Obama can take to unilaterally act on gun control, Politico reports.

Because the Obama administration understands that enacting sweeping gun control legislation through Congress would be difficult, it has placed an emphasis on the use of executive orders to get around Congress, the elected representatives of the American people, and strengthen gun regulations.

Among the executive actions Biden is believed to have recommended to Obama are tougher penalties for people who lie on background checks, elevating gun trafficking to a felony charge and ending limits that make it harder for the federal government to research gun violence. But remember, there are reportedly 19 of them that the White House will consider.

The president’s proposals are also expected to include steps for improving school safety and mental health care, as well as recommendations for addressing violence in entertainment and video games. Pro-gun rights groups, including the NRA, have long insisted that insufficient mental health care and violent images are more to blame for mass shootings than the availability of guns.

According to Politico, Rep. Jackie Speier (D-Calif.) said she told Biden the White House should do as much as it can without Congress.

“I urged him to do as much by executive order as possible,” she said. “Frankly, I don’t have a lot of confidence that this Congress is going to do anything significant.”

Despite the opposition from groups like the National Rifle Association and gun owners across then nation, Obama said he would “vigorously pursue” measures to tighten gun laws.

“My starting point is not to worry about the politics,” he said.

Obama held an unscheduled press conference on Monday and declared his support for a ban on semi-automatic rifles, universal background checks and a ban on high-capacity magazines.

White House officials believe moving swiftly on gun proposals at a national level, before the shock over the Newtown shooting fades, gives Obama the best chance to get his proposals through Congress. Several pro-gun rights lawmakers, including Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Republican Rep. Jack Kingston of Georgia, said in the days following the shooting that they were open to discussing possible control measures.

However, the assault weapons ban, which Obama has long supported, is expected to face the toughest road on Capitol Hill. Congress passed a 10-year ban on the high-grade military-style weapons in 1994, but supporters didn’t have the votes to renew it once it expired in 2004.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) on Friday predicted that a ban might win Senate approval but he doubted it could pass in the Republican-led House.

I don’t like what I’m seeing on the gun issue. I don’t want ANY rights taken away that we already have. Now that I hopefully made myself clear, I hope nobody misunderstands this next part. Some people are posting that crime is down, to support their claims, more guns equal less crime. I think it is funny when the government manipulates data to make the data look good, and then the data comes back to bite them in the ****. A few years ago, the way the FBI gathered statistics were changed. One of the methods used and published, does not give the full picture. ( There are several ways and organizations that gather data) When someone commits multiple crimes during the same incident, only the worst crime is “counted”. Ex: If a bank robber shoots three people and only one dies, only the death is reported in the annual report that is put out each year. (Not the bank robbery, not the other two people that were shot.)Politicians loved this, they can claim crime is on the decline. It is just like the unemployment numbers, ONLY the people that are on unemployment are counted. If you exhaust your benefits, you are no longer counted. Another fictitious government counting example is the CPI, They don’t count, food or energy. DO NOT BELIEVE THAT CRIME AS A WHOLE IS DOWN. Just look out your window and you will know, it is another government lie.

Amendment II

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Like all of the first 10 Amendments in the Bill of Rights the 2nd Amendment does not give citizens rights it only prohibits the federal government from infringing. The states decide how to regulate or make law.

The GOP will probabaly start shining his sandles more often and trim his bad case of N-toe. The GOP is not the answer. The GOP is mostly a very large group of spineless RHINOS now. Background checks for private sales are completely unenforceable. It can’t even be detectable unless a form of universal registration is implemented and said registered units are used in a crime and are investigated. NEVER register your stuff.

For someone who supposedly studied constitutional law in college,of which we have no record,he either knows nothing of the constitution, and failed the class miseralbly, or he learned how to bypass the constitution,which is not likely,since it is not he who “runs” this country. EO’s,that go agaisnt the constitution are in themselves, unconstitutional and he knows this. He also knows we the people, will not tolerate any infringement on the second amendment,much less any of the others,hes wants a war,so he can declare martial law,funny thing is,who in the military is willing to obey that order,no one i know of……Time to throw the crooks out ,and set this country back upright……

The one thing the founding fathers did not see in the future was how dumb the public would become. Stupid libs really think making new laws will make a difference. There is already a law against murder and look how good it works (just watch the news). Forget all the polls, and twisted statistics and what you have left is gun control would only effect people that obey the laws. People who don’t care about the law could care less. You end up punishing 90 percent of the good gun owners and giving a free pass to those that are breaking the existing laws.
If you libs want to make a difference in gun crime go into the inner city crapholes you created and sweep for guns. You know the places because they are in the Dem controlled big cities, the places where you get shot for wearing the wrong color socks. Do that, then you can say we are doing something about gun crime, but until then limiting my rights just makes things worse.
Funny how the bill of rights does not have a “we can pass laws that make us feel better” ammendment….

This band of radicals will keep pushing and pushing and pushing until something breaks , there is no end , is there ? Eutimes.com has a couple of very disturbing articles , I highly recommend them ! I don’t remember if the blaze ran the stories on two top gun activist who mysteriously died last week. At EUTIMES , one article warned on Jan.5 , 2013 of hit squads being sent out to kill dissidents. One article is about these two men being exterminated by these squads ! Coincidence ? The warnings are coming from Russia. It also mentions the date of Feb.22 . Doug Haggman at Canadafreepress had an interview with a DHS insider who warned him something was going to go down that would involve TSA to coincide with debt crisis and new gun laws in Feb or Mar , coincidence ? Hang onto your britches , things are looking dicey coming down on America.

When I hear talk like this I for one know it is way past time to remove this administration by force if necessary.

Set term limits and many other restrictions on political people. Get rid of the Electorial Collage and make sure One LEGAL American vote per Legal American.

My question to everyone is…

How many of you will comply with any illegal laws signed by “He Who Shall Not Be Named”?

I, for one, will not….

Better make plans to cover your a** and take care of your weapons so they can’t be found because with all the records the gun shops have kept when they are required to turn over the information on weapons they deem “illegal” that you have purchased they will come to your door with a warrant looking for them – mine will no longer be there…..

“When guns are outlawed only outlaws will have guns”………..I guess I’m gonna be an outlaw….

Oh by the way while I was gone this last weekend all my guns were stolen. I’d tell the cops, but there is only so much they can do.

Tired of those for gun control telling us that “This will save children’s lives”. Really?! How about the lives of the two kids the mother in Alabama saved when she fired off six shots at the P.O.S. that broke into her home. She saved three lives that day. We know how the story would have ended had her husband not purchased that gun and trained her to use it.

Not “marching on washington”, but let’s use the same tacticts the Left used.

Opposition and Public demonstration.

Sit Ins. Blocking traffic, blocking Public buildings, etc. If it worked for them, it can work for us.

Sit down, refuse to move, JUST SAY NO! What are they going to do? Mace us? GOOD! It will be on TV, and then we can scream Obamanazi!

Or, we can do what the Republican party does. Take the High Road, plead our case, bend over and grab the ankles.

The choice is yours. The Republican party has had their way time and time again, and they have lost time and time again. We can take the path of Civil Disobedience, or we can lock and load and shoot to kill. Make up your mind.

Assuming Obama is able to take away the second amendment. Now that you don’t have a gun what stops him from taking away your first amendment or any of the others. We have to be able to protect ourselves from the government. That’s what Obama is trying to do here take our guns and become our dictator. He already thinks he should be able to do what ever he wants through executive order. If he tries to take our guns or ammo he WILL start a civil war. I’m ready to fight for the constition of the United States of America! Are you?

when we talk about gun control doesnt it mean being able to “hit your target”… its amazing the people who want to ban guns the most are the ones who are protected the heaviest. let obama/biden and all of the other idiots give up their gun body guards and then maybe us real Americans will listen. dont we have enough non-lethal weapons the secret service can carry… by the way has anyone noticed the secret service initals are s.s…. i think that it is equally funny that someone like rahm emanual mayor of chicago is giving advice on gun control…. didnt chicago have over 500 shootings in 2012… how convenient that obama just recently signed into law life bodyguard protection for all presidents..if we ever get a conservative/libertarian president hope he overturns that..after all isnt obama rich enough to afford his own bodyguard..
