Glenn Beck Predicts How the Obama Admin. Will Go About Gun Control: ‘Make No Mistake, a Fight Is Coming’

In Anticipation of Bidens Task Force Recommendations, Beck Dissects Gun Control

During his Monday evening broadcast, Glenn Beck predicted how he thinks the Obama administration will go about imposing stricter gun laws in the aftermath of the Sandy Hook massacre. “Make no mistake,” he said, “a fight is coming.”

Despite threats of executive orders, Beck said he believes a compromise will likely come about in terms of legislation, perhaps a ban on semi-automatic rifles or more background check requirements. He also predicted that Hollywood, perhaps along with the video game industry, will be “slapped on the wrist” and asked to include more explicit warning labels on content containing violent themes.

However, immediately after the “next tragedy” involving guns, the Obama administration may take swift and decisive action, Beck said. The president will argue that he can no longer wait for a stubborn Congress to act and will use executive orders to address gun control.

The right course in opposing such measures, according to Beck, is “to emulate Gandhi, MLK and Jesus,” in terms of peaceful resistance. At the end of the day, he believes the Constitution should be all the Americans’ guide and violence should be rejected.

Beck also discussed our current gun laws with the rate and types of violent crime being carried out around the country. He noted that in 1994, Biden wrote a now fairly infamous assault weapons ban bill, designed to reduce crime by, according to Beck, “arbitrarily outlawing specific guns and gun features.” That features included curved magazines, magazines with a capacity greater than 10 rounds and certain pistol grips among others.

“That ban failed miserably,” Beck said. It “was not renewed after 10 years…and crime rates didn’t budge.”

He believes this is due to the fact that virtually none of the gun-related crimes over this time span included the use of assault weapons. Statistics Beck cited on the program revealed that during a three year period prior to 1994, only 17 out of 7500 gun-related crimes included the use of assault rifles. Thus, to Beck, such bans, including the types of reform sought today in the wake of the Sandy Hook shooting are “based on feeling, not fact.”

Citing the politicization of tragedies like Newtown by both celebrities and politicians alike, Beck said that the public naturally then demands congress do something to remedy what they see as the problem. The facts, however, indicated that while the public actually does want stricter gun control, they do not favor an outright ban. Days after the Sandy Hook shooting a Gallup poll revealed opposition to an outright handgun ban rose to an all-time high of 74 percent while 51 percent opposed reinstating Biden’s 1994 bill. Support for stricter gun laws increased by 13 percent while support of banning gun ownership dipped by eight percent.

Beck also cited a Mother Jones article that chronicled 62 mass-shootings over the last 30 years in which not one was “stopped by a civilian using a gun.” The argument Mother Jones sought to debunk is the frequent claim by gun-advocates that guns, in the right, law-abiding hands, could be used to defend people from senseless violence during mass-shootings.

Beck disagrees. He noted a recent shooting at an Oregon mall last month in which a deranged shooter turned the gun on himself after slaying two others. The reason, Beck said, is because the assailant saw a citizen approaching him with a weapon and decided to take his own life instead of shooting another passerby.

“I’m pretty sure everyone else in the mall that day was grateful for the Second Amendment,” quipped Beck before going on to cite an incident in Israel where three terrorists unleashed machine gun fire into a crowd of civilians. Armed Israeli citizens were quick to take down the three terrorists even before the police or army arrived.

Gun control advocates “conveniently ignore countless success stories such as this one,” Beck said. “They ignore the mountain of evidence, like the fact [that] mass shootings… rose between the 1960s and 1990s but dropped in the 2000s.”

The entire gun debate, for Beck, can be boiled down to progressives “taking advantage of a crisis” to using “emotion” to rule the day and pass legislation. He does not believe the American public will cede.

I’m not sure what to make of Glenn Beck anymore. His passivism is concerning to me. Glenn, if you haven’t noticed, fighting back with mere words, no matter how true, reasonable, and logical they are doesn’t work – the Left controls the media and the narrative. Using the system to protect liberty doesn’t work either, as we have a President who works outside of the system when it pleases him, and a Congress who will do nothing to stop him. Generations have been raised by the doctrine of the Left, and aren’t willing to be deprogrammed. Simply talking about the Constitution won’t protect it if you aren’t prepared to draw a line and defend it with your life. George Washington didn’t win the Revolution with dialogue – he won with muskets. The Constitution was written in blood, and deserves no less in it’s defense.

    Stop “feeling” – THINK

There has not been a “rash” of gun violence in the U. S. – as many would have you believe. We just have a President in his second term directing us towards his “socialist utopia”. Of course in the recent mass-shootings, the offenders had serious mental health issues.

The President is ignoring the mental health issue because he needs to disarm us.

The existing governance has an agenda to direct national policy towards the ultimate socialist system where the “government” owns all commerce. Their system has been tried in many countries and have failed because people just want to be free.

It’s a fact that Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot and Mao took away the guns of their citizens.

By nature, people expect to be rewarded for their work. In the socialist system, people are marginalized for their work and penalized of excessive profit. In the socialist system, those who don’t want to work are only entitled to minimum assistance by the government.

Governments which respects the people have no fear of the people and allow the people to prosper.

It is fine and dandy to call for “peace and control” as armed men gather up people in the streets that refuse to give up their guns. Yes… they will fill up the jails. They build more jails… then camps… then….. Well, lets just ask the Jews what happens next. No Glenn… you don’t peacefully surrender as they herd you up. You don’t allow the Government to put law enforcement between tyranny and millions of gun owners. You stop it now. As a Mormon… you know better. Go re-read the book of Alma and re-read how the people of Nephi were justified in defending their Liberties from their oppressors… using FORCE under the direction of God. By the way, the reason Becks suggestion won’t work is because it relies on the rule of law to be present in order to carry any weight.

Cutting off the liberal ‘news media’ is a good thing! They are a big part of this whole mess. If it gets started, be sure the liberal media cannot be ‘on the air’. They will be used by government as a weapon to demonize patriots. They need communications for propaganda. In every city, and in every town, they would need to be shut down.

Here’s the deal, Glenn is right on this one and here’s why, if you try to put up a fight and a violent resistance you will either end up dead or in jail with a felony in federal prison. The police if they come for your weapons have the advantage. There wont be a group of militia there to back you up. There will only be you against a bunch of police, because they will go to one house at a time to get the guns, they will have the advantage in numbers. There will be some that resist and put up a fight but this is just what the gestapo types of whom many are in the police force now could care less about the 2nd amendment or your rights. In fact many of them “Waco was a great example” live for the thrill of this type of thing its what they think about all the time.

This period of darkness that America is going through with a president whom many question is even legally allowed to be president, the debt, the hypocrisy on the left, the attacks on our freedoms we will have another chance in 4 years to make this right, and with the way things are going, things will be on our side the next time. People are going to see real hardship coming, the massive amount of people living off the government now, the massive amount of jobs that are going to continue to be lost because of the reckless behavior of our government, all of this is going to have a huge impact next time we go to the polls. Resist but resist peacefully. Now is not the time for civil war.

That is right. The idea is to be law abiding and peaceful until there is no choice. Pressure your representatives to oppose any new regulations from Obama. The left has been practicing complaining and pressuring politicians for decades while the rest of us have been working and staying silent. Time to get noisy.

People complain that even with all of the activism on the right over the past several years, we were not able to stop things like Obamacare, Gay Marriage, Obama being re-elected. I honestly feel that even though there were many people that joined movements like the Tea Party and other groups, there were still a large majority of American conservatives that did not do anything, in fact I know many that did not even vote, too many people are still more interested in going about their lives watching not interested or becoming involved, they are more interested in the latest sporting event, going to parties, shopping constantly, having the best cars, watching tv and movies. If people would truly wake up and do something things might change. The progressives are really good at putting their money behind their beliefs, I hate the fact that corporations and PACS, have so much control over legislation that gets passed but thats how are system works, lets use that to our favor, stop shopping at places that go against your beliefs and for Gods sake if you have a gun, put your money where you mouth is and join an organization like the NRA or the Nation Association of Gun Rights. I am amazed at how many people will spend $1500 dollars or more on guns but they wont donate $35 dollars to the NRA.

When ninja attired but not identified federal agents attacked at Ruby Ridge and later when the FBI tried to get a “two fer”, the Feds claimed no local overriding legal authority (no judge at the site) and teh courts ruled their actions unconstitutional. Feds wrong = two dead …. and Larry Potts was promoted.

At Waco, full on assault by Feds (Operation Showtime), wound up with the FBI burning down the buildings secondary to incendiary effects of gas canisters…. outcome… mucho dead and a video of BATF agents raising their flag over the burned out compound and hi-5′ing themselves.

Fast and Furious…. mucho mucho dead.

On and on… progress leading to independence or legal restitution requires an opponent that can be swayed by compassion and logic. Britain could be swayed….but was the Clinton administration swayed??? Can the Obama administration be swayed. Can one negotiate with ideologues will be sacrifice the rule of law… dispassionately watch Americans die in Libya or play a numbers game resulting in hundreds of Mexican nationals being murdered? Glenn’s approach will require innocent gun owners being killed (murdered) since jailing them will not achieve the “flashpoint” that Obama wants. The gamble is that a public will allow rearming/maintain arms of the segment of the population while the Administration offers amnesty to the survivors. It takes major repression for a people to be driven to opposing a government… especially one so soft and

It might do some good to allow this issue to cool off for awhile. People on both sides keep stoking the flame and forcing the issue. While progressives never let a crisis like Sandyhook go to waste, Conservatives fall right into the progressive trap by letting them know what bothers us the most. I don’t know what’s best but it seems to me that you wouldn’t want a bully to know where your weak spot is. We have been put in the position of being the “reactor” in this relationship instead of the leader. If we stop reacting and start acting, maybe we could change this national nightmare.
