Should President Barack Obama decide to make good on his threat to enact gun regulations through executive order, Rep. Steve Stockman (R-Texas) says he may, among other actions, file articles of impeachment against the commander-in-chief.
“I will seek to thwart this action by any means necessary, including but not limited to eliminating funding for implementation, defunding the White House, and even filing articles of impeachment,” Stockman said in a statement on Monday.
In a statement, Stockman didn’t hold back, saying Obama is launching an “attack on the very founding principles of this republic.”
“The President’s actions are an existential threat to this nation,” Stockman said in a statement. “The right of the people to keep and bear arms is what has kept this nation free and secure for over 200 years. The very purpose of the Second Amendment is to stop the government from disallowing people the means to defend themselves against tyranny. Any proposal to abuse executive power and infringe upon gun rights must be repelled with the stiffest legislative force possible.”
Obama said in a Monday morning press conference that he will make public recommendations from a task force run by Vice President Joe Biden to curb gun violence in the wake of shootings in Newtown, Conn. Last week, Biden said some of those restrictions may be achieved through executive order instead of the legislative process.
Stockman said tinkering with the Second Amendment requires due process and the consent of Congress, the representatives of the American people. Stockman is a former member of the U.S. House of Representatives who returned after 15 years in January to oppose John Boehner as speaker of the House.
“The President’s actions are not just an attack on the Constitution and a violation of his sworn oath of office – they are a direct attack on Americans that place all of us in danger…If the President is allowed to suspend constitutional rights on his own personal whims, our free republic has effectively ceased to exist,” he added.

I read all the time on here about Conservatives wanting to kick out of the US anyone who practices Islam, or denying the Westboro Church the right to protest military funerals. There have been “controls” put on many of our Amendments, along with the 2nd Amendment, by past Presidents. The only reason you are making such accusations now is because it is President Obama.

He is indeed a GREAT threat to this nation. His arrogance can only come from someone too ignorant to understandthe import of what he does.
He must be stopped now. If not, he has four full years to LORD over us in a dictatorial way bypassing Congress and implementing his laws.
There needs to be mass refusals to obey his dictates, not only by the people, but by law enforcement in every branch of government.
All law enforcement and military people, active and retired, should become members of OATHKEEPERS to show the people they are on our side and not on the side of tyranny, deceit manipulation, and an arrogant, out-of-control government, headed by a madman that thinks he’s still class president and is too dumb to realize the ramifications of what he does.
I have many friends in law enforcemen, but I want them to know here and now that if they side with this crooked demagogue and try to enforce unjust law against the people our attention will be directed at them in a manner consistent with extreme self-defense, and they are up against an ABSOLUTELY OVERWHELMING FORCE.

Jan. 14, 2013 at 8:42pm1. 2. In states that passed laws making it legal to carry a firearm concealed from 1977 to 1992 the murder rate dropped by 8.5%. (More Guns, Less Violent Crime,” The Wall Street Journal (28 August 1996).
3. Studies also show that in states that did not pass legislation leagalizing concealed carry 1,570 murders could have been prevented yearly. (Crime, Deterrence, and Right-to-Carry Concealed Handguns).
if gun control works so well then why did the Sandy Hook Elementery shooting happen in a one of the places with the most gun control? Do you think that making society a “Gun-free” zone would work any better than a gun free school zone?. According to liberal logic, if we passed laws severly restricting guns that criminals would all of the sudden start following laws?
Wouldn’t it be great if we could not only get these liberal Communists impeached..but exile all of the liberal communists out of the US to Russia and Arab countries with love.. and we could eliminate all those commie government organizations..in schools and the media (and send the illegals back to their countries..That alone would save us 338.3 billion a year.).

Jan. 14, 2013 at 11:02pmLAW OF THE LAND
The general misconception is that any statute passed by legislators bearing the appearance of
law constitutes the law of the land. The U.S. Constitution is the supreme law of the land, and
any statute, to be valid, must be in agreement. It is impossible for a law, which violates the
Constitution to be valid. This is succinctly stated as follows:
“All laws which are repugnant to the Constitution are null and void.” Marbury vs. Madison, 5
US (2 Cranch) 137, 174, 176, (1803)
“When rights secured by the Constitution are involved, there can be no rule making or
legislation which would abrogate them.” Miranda vs. Arizona, 384 US 436 p. 491.
“An unconstitutional act is not law; it confers no rights; it imposes no duties; affords no
protection; it creates no office; it is in legal contemplation, as inoperative as though it had never
been passed.” Norton vs. Shelby County 118 US 425 p. 442
“The general rule is that an unconstitutional statute, though having the form and name of law, is
in reality no law, but is wholly void, and ineffective for any purpose; since unconstitutionality
dates from the time of its enactment, and not merely from the date of the decision so branding
it.
“No one is bound to obey an unconstitutional law and no courts are bound to enforce it.” 16

Jan. 15, 2013 at 12:25amAt the federal level, Article II of the United States Constitution (Section 4) states that “The President, Vice President, and all civil Officers of the United States shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other High Crimes and Misdemeanors.” The House of Representatives has the sole power of impeaching, while the United States Senate has the sole power to try all impeachments. The removal of impeached officials is automatic upon conviction in the Senate. In Nixon v. United States (1993), the Supreme Court determined that the federal judiciary cannot review such proceedings.
…Presidents, Senators, Congressmen can attempt to or actually make into law unconstitutional law/regulations..this has NEVER lead to impeachment. Lincoln suspended Habeus Corpus , FDR falsely imprisoned thousand of US citizens…neither was impeached..laws passed and signed into law that were later overturned as unconstitutiona did not result in a single impeachment…once again people on the correct side cannot formulate a winning strategy, I sometimes wonder if that’s the plan..have idiots put forth a loser plan that we follow and then get upset we didn’t win ?…why don’t we do what dope dealers, welfare cheats, illigal immigrants so?…ignore the law…don’t get upset..just ignore them..and fight in the courts and ballot box..they still work..most of the time..

Jan. 15, 2013 at 12:42amFor get the GOP must stick together, the GOP are a bunch of spineless jerks who won’t stand up to the Progressive Democrats. WHY? Because behind closed doors, they are all on the same side. Now they know that “Strict Gun Control” legislation will not pass, even Democrats will vote against it. WHY?
Be cause many are up for re-election in 2014, they can vote against it and look like they were looking out for the people, knowing that the President will simply use his Executive Orders to try and get it done.
Well it is time for America to start contacting their STATE SENATORS and TELL them that if they are truly looking out for the people, then they will NOT let the President get away with abusing these Executive Orders. Remind them that just 2 weeks ago, they did not even hesitate to over turn one of the Presidents Executive Orders within 24 hours. They did it without hesitation when it came to them looking out for themselves and getting their PAY RAISED, so know it is time they do it for the PEOPLE. This would include IMPEACHING the President for violating the Constitution and the OATH that ALL OF THEM SWORE TO DEFEND.
Of course it would not hurt to remind them about FAST and FURIOUS, BENGHAZI, if the President truly believes that there should not be any ARMED security in schools, then he can start by NOT ALLOWING THE SECRET SERVICE TO PROTECT THE SCHOOLS HIS DAUGHTERS ATTEND!

Jan. 15, 2013 at 1:44amThis is all I need to know about gun control: our FOUNDERS were FOR RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS – TYRANTS AND DESPOTS Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Obama ARE AGAINST. I don’t own a gun, don’t want a gun – but I darn sure want every law abiding citizen to be able to fully exercise their right to bear arms as guaranteed by the Constitution.

Jan. 15, 2013 at 1:59amThe Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) 809[890].ART.90 (20), makes it clear that military personnel need to obey the “lawful command of his superior officer,” 891.ART.91 (2), the “lawful order of a warrant officer”, 892.ART.92 (1) the “lawful general order”, 892.ART.92 (2) “lawful order”. In each case, military personnel have an obligation and a duty to only obey Lawful orders and indeed have an obligation to disobey Unlawful orders, including orders by the president that do not comply with the UCMJ. The moral and legal obligation is to the U.S. Constitution and not to those who would issue unlawful orders, especially if those orders are in direct violation of the Constitution and the UCMJ.

Jan. 15, 2013 at 5:46amI watched Obama tonight on the news. His swagger. His cockiness and his shallow expression and I wondered to myself:
I wonder if that guy has any clue about how STUPID he looks?
Seriously.
He’s like some kid playing ‘dress-up’ in his daddy’s old suit, thinking it makes him look like a man…but he’s just a kid in his daddy’s old suit.
If he’s the Anti-Christ, God will flatten him. If he’s just a misguided dolt, History will flatten him.
there is NOTHING, zero, zippo, zilch …nothing attractive about any human who has the “power” and uses it (who thinks they have some power…no humans have any power…only GOD…takes a few years on this planet to figure that one out)
There is nothing worse than ARROGANCE. This silly, foolish, childish, ***** of a man is no leader. He does not even represent the 39% of the White People who voted for him… one day, we may not live to see it, but our grand kids will, he will be the darkest vein in American History alright…not because of any color (I mean..the guy is still half white anyway…how stupid to call him Black) …he will be the darkest vein in American History for the way he has tried to rip this magnificent country to shreds. I love Mark Levin’s description: “Obama’s like the Lilliputians trying to destroy us from within”
Not Obama, not anyone close to him realizes how stupid they look and act. They will.

Jan. 15, 2013 at 8:05amSENDTHEMETEORS, Sissy dude, please! By your reasoning the next Republican president can step into office and with the whisk of his pen make abortion illegal. Bet that you would scream bloody murder and declare otherwise is he or she did! As for your mention of George Bush, you do so to thoroughly mislead. You can actually track down Bush’s EO online. In fact I found several listings in a single search engine check of all of his EOs. Funny thing, is that as you mention your simple statement, Bush had already spent twice as much time in office as 0bama. That is just simple mathematics. Then I noticed no attempts to change laws or attempts to effect the Constitution as 0bama is considering or as Clinton attempted when he mandated that schools become gun free zones. You know, those target rich environments for the criminally insane to use as their happy hunting grounds?
Yep, I want to see the next Republican president outlaw abortion by EO. And, most assuredly we will all get to watch your participation in the sh/t storm here.

Jan. 15, 2013 at 10:58pmIt will never happen. Impeachment requires majority in House & Senate so with the Left ruling the Senate, they will never get an impeachment vote through. Even if they could, it would have as much punishment on Obama as it did Clinton. As much as I would love to see Obama impeached & brought up on charges of treason (for his actions over the last 4-years & his plans for the coming 4-years), I just don’t see it happening.
TREASON: noun
1. the offense of acting to overthrow one’s government or to harm or kill its sovereign.
2. a violation of allegiance to one’s sovereign or to one’s state.
3. the betrayal of a trust or confidence; breach of faith; treachery.

Your thought on this?:
“Issuing an executive order is not a new idea. It has been used many times before.
In 1989, then-President George H.W. Bush halted the importation of some semi-automatic firearms that could be considered “assault weapons” under existing legal authority provided by the 1968 Gun Control Act, under the determination that they were not “particularly suitable for or readily adapting to sporting purposes.”
Bush used his executive powers after a career criminal killed five kids and wounded 29 others with an AK-47 assault rifle on Jan. 27, 1989, in California.”

Jan. 14, 2013 at 4:56pm•Based on their inquiry, the Judiciary Committee will send another Resolution to the full House stating that impeachment is warranted and why (the Articles of Impeachment), or that impeachment is not called for.
•The Full House (probably operating under special floor rules set by the House Rules Committee) will debate and vote on each Article of Impeachment.
•Should any one of the Articles of Impeachment be approved by a simple majority vote, the President will be “impeached.” However, being impeached is sort of like being indicted of a crime. There still has to be a trial, which is where the US Senate comes in.

Failure is fulfill one of your duties is not an illegal act. You can only remove a President for something he did, not something he didn’t do.

Jan. 14, 2013 at 4:37pm“I will seek to thwart this action by any means necessary, including but not limited to eliminating funding for implementation, defunding the White House, and even filing articles of impeachment,” Stockman said in a statement on Monday.

Do you know how bad I want to believe this? But if history is any indicator, Obama will find an end run around and Congress will let him take it.

Jan. 14, 2013 at 4:37pmAll well and good but sadly it will never go beyond words. Impossible to hold the most corrupt administration we have ever known accountable. They all have each others back and with their minions and Chicago thugs we can only dream action can or will be taken or if it is that anything will happen except more evil from them.

Jan. 14, 2013 at 4:36pmAbout damn time someone stepped up and did their job. Impeach the goofball now!
Naturally, it’s a man from Texas. Go Texas – the home of my mother and grandfather.
Oh, and where are all the other folks we sent back there to preserve the Constitution? Ya’ll better get with the program and stand up to this out-of-control knucklehead in the WH.

Jan. 14, 2013 at 4:44pmI just wish he had replaced Boehner! Naturally, this will never gain any traction with Harry Reid, but hopefully the potential of that particular stain on his legacy might have an effect.

Jan. 14, 2013 at 4:59pmThis is why you play the long game and you work tirelessly NOW to win back the senate in 2014 and retain the house. Get those back and Obama can be impeached and his cabinet rubbished, shamed and dismantled.
Obama hasn’t stopped campaigning because he wants the house back in 2014. This is what all the press conferences and Biden hearings and appearances are all about…it’s performance, it’s theater to make the GOP look like uncaring, cold-blooded enablers of the rich and the fringe elements. Millions of Americans own guns responsibly, both democrats and republicans but Obama’s ignoring the war zone that is Chicago because Rahm Emanuel is it’s mayor and trying to paint the GOP as the obstacle against “gun control”. This isn’t about the debt or guns…it’s about power to Obama. He wants the house back in 2014 and the only way we can stop Obama and impeach him is to win back the Senate in 2014. There is no other way. Heck…maybe we’ll even get a budget passed.
We have 30 republican governors and varying GOP numbers in their state senates. It’s time to fight this war where it can realistically be won..from the state level. It’s time to get those governors in, ask them questions about why they’re winning there and start working out how we get our message across in their states..state by state, district by district. Sell the brand, not the congressman or the senator. The democrats successfully painted the GOP brand in a poor light..its’ time to re

Jan. 14, 2013 at 4:59pmHarry Reid has no power on the HOUSE voting on impeachment .. .read how it works … not until it goes to the Senate .. Obama can be “impeached” by the House .. but not removed unless the Senate agrees ..

Jan. 14, 2013 at 4:53pmEverything ‘congress, judiciary, executive’ has done since July 24, 1863 is …. unconstitutional, when we cut the crap… moreover prior to that when the ‘south’ walked out – the republic effectively ‘split.’ An interesting side note — when Lincoln was asked following the ‘surrender’ at Appomattox IF the issue of secession should be adjudicated (re: TREASON charges against the Reb leadership) — Lincoln responded to the affect “Why should we risk in court that which we have CONQUERED in battle?” — Wish I could locate the original transcript — maybe Glenn has it — Wonder if the Nawth realizes yet they ‘agreed’ to the same 3rd class of citizenship the Rebs did — BOTH stepped down to become…. slaves ..
