GOP Rep. Threatens Impeachment If Obama Goes Around Congress to Enact Gun Control

Should President Barack Obama decide to make good on his threat to enact gun regulations through executive order, Rep. Steve Stockman (R-Texas) says he may, among other actions, file articles of impeachment against the commander-in-chief.
“I will seek to thwart this action by any means necessary, including but not limited to eliminating funding for implementation, defunding the White House, and even filing articles of impeachment,” Stockman said in a statement on Monday.
In a statement, Stockman didn’t hold back, saying Obama is launching an “attack on the very founding principles of this republic.”
“The President’s actions are an existential threat to this nation,” Stockman said in a statement. “The right of the people to keep and bear arms is what has kept this nation free and secure for over 200 years. The very purpose of the Second Amendment is to stop the government from disallowing people the means to defend themselves against tyranny. Any proposal to abuse executive power and infringe upon gun rights must be repelled with the stiffest legislative force possible.”
Obama said in a Monday morning press conference that he will make public recommendations from a task force run by Vice President Joe Biden to curb gun violence in the wake of shootings in Newtown, Conn. Last week, Biden said some of those restrictions may be achieved through executive order instead of the legislative process.
Stockman said tinkering with the Second Amendment requires due process and the consent of Congress, the representatives of the American people. Stockman is a former member of the U.S. House of Representatives who returned after 15 years in January to oppose John Boehner as speaker of the House.
“The President’s actions are not just an attack on the Constitution and a violation of his sworn oath of office – they are a direct attack on Americans that place all of us in danger…If the President is allowed to suspend constitutional rights on his own personal whims, our free republic has effectively ceased to exist,” he added.
In CONTROL, Glenn Beck presents a passionate, fact-based case for guns that reveals why gun control isn’t really about controlling guns at all; it’s about controlling us. Posted on January 14, 2013 at 6:54pmOh, loook, Mr. Stockman woke up and decided to finally join us. No, it was perfectly okay when Obama illegally bypassed the Senate and used presidential fiat to pass law on immigration (August 15th, 2012, IA-Day [Illegal Alien Day]) — that’s honky dory, but Heaven forbid he do it TWICE. No, no, no, no, NO — NOW Mr. Stockman wants to do something.
First he came for my country’s youth, bt I didn’t worry since none were mine; then he came for my country’s sovreignty, but that wasn’t important to e; then he came for my gun. SOB, now I gotta do something!

Posted on January 14, 2013 at 6:49pmHappy to know you Steve Stockman. Yes – Texas. Everyone should be contacting their reps and urging them to get on board with Stockman. There must be a book full of impeachable offenses he has committed. He has never defended the Constitution and he is not a natural born citizen of the USA.
This issue is coming before Justice Roberts soon. See all the stories on this one front page http://www.westernjournalism.com

Posted on January 14, 2013 at 6:36pmIf the GOP is smart about this they can do it. It will require gaining the majority in the senate in 2014, which is looking more and more possible the way things are going. Especially if they can make the accusations recently leveled against Harry Reid stick. Then we do have a fighting chance of taking this country back from these lunatics.

Anyone please, I’m on bended knees, I’m begging you, I’m crying out to you, can anyone please tell me what the h-ll every member of Congress is doing in Washington?
These people are getting paid to live in luxury, they get all kinds of freebees, enjoy traveling (expense paid), have several offices and staffs and none of them are willing to call a spade, a spade.
Mr. Obama’s eligibility – they were quiet
Gulf oil spill – they were quiet
Fiscal cliff negotiations – they were quiet
GM takeover – they were quiet
NDAA Bill – they were quiet
Fast and Furious – committee hearings that amounted to absolutely nothing except a lot of big talk from the chairman Issa. . . blah….blah…blah. . . . a lot of threats but just a dog and pony show.
Gun Ban – they are quiet
Can somebody, anybody please tell me how they are earning the money that WE are paying them?
I say recall every last one of them and NOW !!

Posted on January 14, 2013 at 6:24pmGood to see another Texan with some huevos. Perry said that he was against any gun control also. In Austin the anti’s were pitching a b*tch because there were gun shows in public buildings. Greg Abbott shot that crap down too and told the anti’s that if they kept it up he was going to sue with both barrels, LOL! Damn, I love Texas! ;-)

Posted on January 14, 2013 at 6:21pmThis pee-poor excuse for a president should have been impeached so many times by now. It will never happen because he has no opposition in congress. If they aren’t out and out ultra-liberals, then they are borderline liberals. There isn’t a true Conservative in the bunch.

Posted on January 14, 2013 at 6:21pmThe list of Impeachable Offenses is long and really only half known. Include the joke of a Vice President. We have to send this article to our Senators and Reps. and then stay on this.

Posted on January 14, 2013 at 6:21pmAny exectutive order against America and our 2nd Ammendment rights by obama will be taken only as an act of war. An act of Tyranny will result in an immediate course of war. Will obama be stupid enough to just spit on our Constitution. 80% of America is worse off now than before obama. Many of us will welcome a nice full blown wipe out. Just think No more unions, democrats or govt.media. Everyone would be back to work within a month.

Posted on January 14, 2013 at 5:35pmPoint of Order: “Tinkering with the Second Amendment” requires a 2/3 majority of both houses & 3/4 of the states- not just mere consent of Congress. In the meantime, He Who Shall Not Be Named has abso-flipping-lutely NO SAY in the matter.
“The President’s actions are not just an attack on the Constitution and a violation of his sworn oath of office – they are a direct attack on Americans that place all of us in danger…If the President is allowed to suspend constitutional rights on his own personal whims, our free republic has effectively ceased to exist.” Dead on point, but way too late in the saying. Our free Republic ceased to exist a while ago but was reaffirmed when the Fiscal Cliff bill to avert Doomsday passed 3 minutes after being brought to the Floor & then was sent to be signed by a robot. They. Don’t. Care.
Problem is, the Republicans may have the votes to pass Articles of Impeachment in the House but there’s no way they’ll get the super majority in the Senate required to impeach. Give up the dream. That’s the reality.
Dream scenario: He Who Shall Not Be Named leaves office in 2016 a defeated President who spends the last 4 years of his presidency on the defensive on multiple fronts. More realistic scenario: he’ll get even more radical and belligerent b/c he knows Senate Dems won’t break ranks with him, rendering the GOP House relatively toothless.
The epitaph on his second term: “Oh, you didn’t like that? How do you like this… ?

Its time for American’s to take back this country and send Obama and his Chi-Town creeps back to the filthy rat holes they came from.
