MSNBCs Touré Says Americans Are Putting Themselves in Danger by Owning Guns, Calls on Obama to Save Us

During MSNBC’s “The Cycle” on Monday, MSNBC co-host Touré said Americans are putting themselves in danger, not protecting themselves, by owning guns. He later said only President Barack Obama can “save us from the gun epidemic.”

“We want to envision ourselves as a nation of vigilantes protecting ourselves with our guns, but that’s not what’s happening, Touré said. “We’re an over-armed nation helping gun makers get richer by believing blatant lies that the government is plotting to take away our guns, and believing the myth that we’re protecting and not endangering ourselves.”

He went on to say that the gun control issue could be the “most crucial moment in the Obama administration — perhaps the most important legislation they’ll ever propose.”

“Gun safety is no longer a clear loser for Democrats, who have lost pro-gun rural voters and have nothing to show for it but a fear of gun control. The suburban and urban voters who show up for Dems in droves need the president to save us from the gun epidemic. We need him to fear nothing but fear itself,” he added.

Touré called on the White House to ban so-called “assault weapons” (which are really just semi-automatic rifles) and large capacity magazines. He also wants there to be an expansion on the “reporting on who has guns” as well as universal background checks.

“If you’re not fighting to help people’s lives, then why are you in D.C.?” Touré lectured. “Mr. President, don’t back down now.”

  Last week I found myself stopping in to bend my elbow on the way home. Friend was there, with this other guy.
  We ha gotten into a ‘guy’ talk of crossing paths with buttheads
  I looked at them and said that once I learned that once I found that one was a **** head, that I would just move down to the end of the bar.
  The other guy said,”Yea, I know you do!”
  Startled me…
  “How do you know?”
  “Because you had done it to me once about 6 months ago.”
  “You still a **** head?”
  “I’m sure you’ll let me know within 5 minutes.”
  We laughed and spent the next hour bending elbows.

  Ranger…I went back and watched a related video. I’m not sure 30 rounds in one mag would have been enough…..The H&K .40 only holds about 12 and I do not usually carry an additional mag for that one. I do always know my route of egress no matter where I am and my kids are in the same habit. Too bad we have to think this way in o’s version of America……

God saves you, not a mere man. We would all be safer if it were known to expect a gun in someone’s home or on their person. Since criminals don’t obey the law by the very definition of CRIMINAL, more laws or gun bans won’t work except on law abiding citizens or will turn them into criminals by passing such. We have a right to own a gun by our Constitution for very good reasons. I don’t want to go their again to find out why. I read history.

This is a strong indication (to me) that the progressive left is quickly losing the narrative on gun control.

The final nail in their coffin will be an outright ‘assault weapons’ BAN.

Then, there will be NO QUESTION about the governmental tyranny being foisted upon us.

All liberals and Democrats that don’t think the 2nd Amendment should protect their right to have guns should give up ALL their guns NOW, show us by example, and also be sure that all criminals and mentally impaired have given up theirs, then we’ll talk. I won’t give up my right to bear arms, but we can talk.

  I second that, let them leadby example, Joe Biden give up your 9mm you told us about during 08 election. They need to give up their “armed” guards, let ‘em have guards but “unarmed” since guns are so evil. See if they feel safer. That’s a starting point for them to get to before telling me what to do.
