Obama Takes Shot at Gun Groups While Outlining New Firearms Laws He Supports: ‘Ginning Up Fear’

(TheBlaze/AP) — Signaling an all-of-the-above approach to reducing gun violence, President Barack Obama said Monday that he is reviewing a range of proposals from Vice President Joe Biden, including executive actions that would bypass Congress, and will present his plan within days.

Obama said that stronger background checks, a meaningful ban on assault weapons and limits on high-capacity ammunition magazines are all ideas he thinks make sense. He said he’s not sure how many of those measures can pass Congress, but that he expects the legislative body to set aside politics and focus on what he considers to be common sense solutions.

Responding to a reporter who asked what action he is willing to take through executive order, the president declined to give specifics but said he was “confident that there are some steps that we can take that don’t require legislation.”

Soon after, President Obama weighed in on the record gun sales in recent months:

“As far as people lining up and purchasing more guns, I think that we’ve seen for some time now that those who oppose any common sense gun control or gun safety measures have a pretty effective way of ginning up fear on the part of gun owners that somehow, the federal government’s about to take all your guns away. And, you know there’s probably an economic element to that, it obviously is good for business, but I think that those of us who look at this problem have repeatedly said that responsible gun owners, people who have a gun for protection, for hunting, for sportsmanship– they don’t have anything to worry about.

“The issue here is not whether or not we believe in the Second Amendment. The issue is are there some sensible steps we can take to make sure that somebody like the individual in Newtown can’t walk into a school and gun down a bunch of children in a shockingly rapid fashion…but part of the challenge that we confront is that even the slightest hint of some sensible, responsible legislation in this area fans this notion that somehow, ‘here it comes,’ and that everybody’s guns are going to be taken away. It’s unfortunate, but that’s the case.” [Emphasis added]

The president asked Joe Biden to lead a task force on ways to reduce violence after the December massacre in Newtown, Conn., that killed 27 people – mostly children.

Over the past month, Biden has met with members of Congress, Cabinet members and advocacy groups on both sides of the issue to gauge support for measures such as reinstating the expired assault weapons ban. The NRA, one of the pro-gun groups that met with Biden, has made clear it will vehemently oppose such a ban and other measures that restrict gun access.

There was the Gabby Gifford incident . Followed by Outrage over guns with little focus on the shooter’s insane photo and behavior. The the Zimmerman fiasco. ( ams sure the Democrats though he was an aging Jewish Floridian when they first stoked this issue ) The Chicago radical Democrats tried so hard to make gun ownership an issue with the Zimmerman over-the-top Media Trial. Didn’t work for them. Then the insane Colorado organge-haired dude. And then along came Sandy Hook, the crisis which restored that chance …AND this is the beginning of Obama II when we know the Democrats are going to track insanely LEFT…. Insanity being ignored…while guns are the focus. Should tell you something.

It’s unfortunate, but that’s the case.” Take note of the attempt to frame it as though supporters of the second amendment are crazily opposing these “solutions” because we believe, crazily, “everybody’s guns are going to be taken away”. While some agree that could happen, we all primarily disagree with their interpretation of the second amendment and the authority they have with regard to it. They’re all afraid to admit that they can not prevent evil so they put on a show. Losers.

The Constitution clearly says “WILL NOT BE INFRINGED.” The second amendment WAS WRITTEN AGAINST SUCH A PERSON AS OBAMA in case the “checks and balances” did not work: Which it does not as most of the other elected officials abrogatted their duties and are supporting this “would be dictator.”

The 2nd Amendment IS THE THE CHECKS AND BALANCE against public servants who are out of control and think that they are superior to the fellow humans by ABUSING THEM AND THE COMMUNITY. In 1993 or 94 there was a congressional hearing on the Brady Bill, guess who was heading it up…that’s right your idiot vice president. There was an intermission during Wayne LaPierre’s testimony, when they came back the first thing out of Biden’s mouth, “One of my interns heard you say that you are going to get that guy, did you say that?” LaPierre didn’t know what the heck he was talking about of course, but Biden kept pushing it, until it seemed like it really happened. These guys will stop at nothing to disarm us, and it has nothing to do with public safety

The Office of the President of the United States of America has been surrendered to usurpation and vote fraud!

We should do everything in our power right now, to peacefully support and defend the Constitution against political and judicial malfeasance, in the hope and prayer of avoiding being left with no alternative other than to take up arms to defend the Second Amendment.

If the usurper Obama is not removed from office prior to shifting the balance of the court by replacing just one conservative justice with yet another anti-constitutional subversive judicial activist, you will have no have no Second Amendment individual right to bear arms, to defend.

Except that every time a democrat says that, “Ban” is exactly what they mean. The only “common sense” legislation the want is an outright ban. We know what Clinton wanted, we know what Feinstein wants, we know what Janet Reno wanted. A full ban on civilian ownership is what you want. We know this, and nothing you can say to lull us back to sleep will change that. We’re not arming up because we’re scared you’ll ban them, we’re arming up because we know we’ll have to use them against your goons who come to take them.

Trying to limit what access law abiding citizens have to firearms WILL NOT AFFECT CRIMINALS! It WILL NOT AFFECT SHOOTINGS! These things will continue to happen and you’ll continue to call for broader more sweeping bans until all we have are rocks and sticks. Then you’ll ban those. WE WILL NOT COMPLY! THIS SHALL NOT PASS! Any laws, any executive orders are UNCONSTITUTIONAL and are null and void on their face and will be fought with the full force of WE THE PEOPLE!

jinning up fear?! The only damn people in this country “jinning” up fear is the MSM. We are talking about DEFENDING ourselves while the government is going on the attack. I say that if he does go through with this executive order on the debt ceiling and gun control we start kicking our “representatives” out if no one demands impeachment. The congress and senate are there to keep the executive branch in check, to ensure there is no dictatorship. This has got to stop! This POS is crapping all over the Constitution, and so far, other than ******* and moaning about it, we are letting him. Just like odumbo said their will be no negotiations, I agree. It is time for action. I want to be proud of this country that I love not just for the things we have accomplished in the past that made us great, but for what we are going to do in the future. This man is holding us back, I see nothing on the horizon as far as accomplishment and achievement. He kills the pipeline, says we have failed and not met the ideal in Afghanistan, is putting us further and further in debt, constantly lies to the people he works for (US) wants to take our personal defense away. We all deserve better.

Our president was never a Boy Scout, never enjoyed the fun of firing off a bangsite on independance day, does not have a childhood to compare to almost any other of us because he comes from a different type family and life style. Disconnected to say the least. I just think this is so weird. Only God could arrange for a nation like ours to be lead by such an unusual king. My focus is on God.

This is a great example of how Obama is a great and deliberate oratorical deceiver. I can prove it.

Try this short experiment: Listen to the speech again, but close your eyes and imagine this time that it is coming from someone pro-gun and pro 2nd Amendment. Notice that the content could be used in both pro, and anti-gun sides until the very last sentence where he says “it would be pretty hard to argue that somehow gun owners have had their rights infringed”.

The truth is that it would be really easy to argue and win with regards to gun owners.
