Although you might not be able to make it to the North American International Auto Show in Detroit when it opens to the public this coming weekend, it’s no biggie. We’ve pulled together a couple dozen pictures of the new wheels on the showroom floor for you.
Sure you’re still missing out on the sounds, but get a load of the new models below and you may start to catch a whiff of that new car and tire smell that only 500 vehicles on display can provide you with.
We’ve broken the pictures down into categories for easy viewing (from SUVs and trucks to sports cars and sedans to the electric vehicles).

Jan. 15, 2013 at 5:22pmevery one of them looks like **** . Hey Jeep, I see no mention of being built in china? I use to own 3 jeeps at one time. My favorite, 1998 CHEROKEE which is the SUV that started the boom begining 1984 and continued till 2002. Now I have 2 left, 2007 Grand Cherokee and a HEMI powered 2006 Commander. Jeep you ******* up, never again! Don’t even get me started on GM!!! Best car made by GM last 10 yrs?
2008 and 2009 PONTIAC G-8 GT with the 6.0 litre v-8. Base price was 28,895 and was the most reasonably priced vehicle considering. It was the best Bang for your Buck America won’t sell cars again like the ole days unless 1) they make a car that is FREAKING REAR WHEEL DRIVE 2) Can except 4, 6, 8 cylinder engine choices. (this creates jobs, supports parts and hot rod companies and promotes MOTOR SPORTS) and 3) Base price $18,000 stripped with v-8 . Stop putting all the BS in the car. I want to roll my windows downas far as the bells and wistles, all I want to hear is the cam shaft lope and the cracklin of explosions coming from my exhaust. Hey DOT, EPA, for that matter DEA, DOE, FDA, DOA, FAA, FCC, and the rest of the Bla Bla Bla, that goes for you too OBLABLA, **** OFF

I divorced my liberal wife and kept my 1994 Ford Explorer. 325K, rides rough, looks rough (like my X) but unlike my X, It’s reliable. Also have a Constitutionally conservative wife who is “still perky and purty as ever” , newer Chevy Tahoe and all is well within my little world. It’s the rest of the world I have to worry about.

Jan. 15, 2013 at 4:56pmI don’t understand, back in the late fifties and sixties some people thought our cars were ugly. Today they are shameful to say the least. The word ugly now became stylish. Today, the uglier car sells the most. If it weren’t for some Chrysler cars, I don’t think I would have a choice in buying one, not that I’m in the market for one. Looking at some of these above actually hurt my eyes. Where is Harley Earl or Virgil Exner when you need them??? Now those guys were designers!!

Jan. 15, 2013 at 4:56pmI’ll have to echo some of the other sentiments here. Nothing really “new” and/or any different than what you’re already parking next to at the mall.
And “SUVs”?? Please! Enough already. When I was a kid they were called “station wagons” and NOTHING could possibly have been any more un-cool.
With all the computer aided design tools available, everybody’s doing their level best to make the most “schwoopy” lookin’ 4-door sedan, but again, in another 5 years most will be hopelessly “dated” looking and in 10, totally forgotten.
The good old days back in the 1960s, when each new iteration of the Mustang or Corvette or Camaro or GTO, etc., generated REAL excitement, are long gone. Maybe automakers could take a styling que from the 50s and ressurect fins or something to set their grocery-getters apart from the over-crowded crowd.

Jan. 15, 2013 at 1:38pmI’m sorry to say, but I’m very dissapointed in the Corvette. It’s looks have been cheapened. I wouldn’t pay the big bucks for something that looks so disgusting. My old 300 ZX was pretty, I managed to get 369,000 miles on it, it was garage kept, and worthy of the money spent. The older Corvettes were classy, stylish, fun to drive, but this new design is just not something I’d pay big bucks for. Maybe it’s me, but I like smooth lines, classy looks, and this style just doesn’t grab me. Many of the other automobiles have improved and I look forward to seeing them on the road. Until the economy improves, we will not be able to purchase a new or used car. Taxes are way to high, as well as the costs of automobiles. Without work and no jobs, cars are out of the question. We may have to go back to riding mules, raising chickens, and killing our own hogs. Obama has not been kind to middle class, hard working, American’s.

Jan. 15, 2013 at 2:11pmAs the Progressive argument goes, why do Americans need semi-automatic rifles? Why do Americans need cars in colors other than black and white? Why do Americans need a sports car? They are not professional race car drivers then they don’t need something like a Corvette, right? A black chevy volt will get them to the grocery store and back, so why have so much ‘choice’? Progressives, despite what they claim, despise free choice.

Jan. 15, 2013 at 1:42pmReally! I agree 100%! State employees are driving them and watching them burn. Sad isn’t it?
I just replied that we can’t afford a new or used car. Our current automobile has 230K on it and as long as it has life, it will continue to take us where we need to go. Taxes and eocnomy will keep us from buying a car. And you’re right, nothing looks good to us. They ruined the classy looks of the Corvette. Big bucks for those who have more money then good sense. We’ll be riding a mule if the economy doesn’t improve…. I reckon they will find a way to tax this too!

I can’t speak for all TEA party members but I don’t like Detroit because the city is dead,it was killed by a criminal by the name of Coleman A.Young a progressive POS that ruled that city for over thirty years. He was a criminal just like our POS fraud president is today. Young and the unions killed that city and today Barry’s finishing off America. Government motors is a partnership between the government and the UAW and any semblance of a private company died years ago, they got a bailout that they shouldn’t have and they’ll fail again because they make POS vehicles that nobody wants, you’re stupid. End of lesson.

Jan. 15, 2013 at 2:17pmProgressive leaders have their favorite cars. Hitler had the volkswagon and Obama had the Chevy Volt. Progressives despise people having many choices. Why would Americans need Corvettes or semi-automatic rifles? Why would Americans need the ability to choose a doctor and they type of insurance that they desire? Why would Americans need to choose the school to send their children to and to use their school tax money at the schools that they choose?

Jan. 15, 2013 at 3:00pm@Bottom_feeder The Tea Party has nothing to do with Detroit or cars. People with common sense don’t want to go near crime-ridden Detroit nor own an electric car that looks like something out of a Dr. Seuss movie. Not to mention the spontaneous combustion of the firebomb batteries and 0% chance of survival if you were unlucky enough to get into a wreck.

Jan. 15, 2013 at 3:13pmTOP! I think you’ve got this all wrong!!! It’s the People who can actually afford a car that like and buy cars. You probably can’t, and have to disparage people that can, by associating them with the Tea Party! As far as Detroit goes, people here as well as Tea Partiers, don’t hate Detroit. They just refuse to subsidize the mismanagement and lack of talent that has landed them where they are now! It’s the same thinking that will keep you in your mommy’s basement hurling baseless insults at us all day!
