President Barack Obama is set to announce Wednesday his plans on gun control after establishing a White House task force on gun violence headed by Vice President Joe Biden after the shooting massacare at Sandy Hook Elementary school in December. CNN reports that the package of gun control proposals will include a ban on assault weapons, restrictions on high-capacity ammunition magazines and strengthening federal background checks of people attempting to buy guns. The New York Times reported Tuesday that Obama could use up to 19 executive orders as part of his plans on new gun control policy.
The news of executive action comes as some states are already moving on new gun laws this week. The New York Legislature approved a gun control bill put forth by Democratic Governor Andrew Cuomo Monday night that tightens restrictions on gun sales, bars ammunition magazines that hold more than seven rounds and closes gaps in a 2000 ban on assault weapons. Governors in Colorado and Connecticut–where two of the deadliest shootings in recent memory took place in 2012–have also called on new, tougher gun control measures to be passed in their state. USA Today reports that eleven states are currently considering new gun restrictions, while eight are considering new measures on school-safety and seven on mental-health. At the same time, the report finds that six states are currently considering loosening gun restrictions.

The “findings” have been written for a long time now and pocketed for use for the first shooting tragedy after the 2012 election. Many of these 19 executive orders and following pleadings to the Congress will turn out to be the same old tired leftist wish list of demolishing the Second Amendment.

Jan. 16, 2013 at 5:31amThe mass shootings only gained frequency as the economy and the national psyche shifted toward negativity and downright depression. Massive job losses, along with the loss of major icons of prosperity such as the Space shuttle have an impact especially on the mentally imbalanced. There are fewer and fewer things that people are able to grasp onto as mainstays of a prosperous future, faith used to be a mainstay, but it’s become ever more unpopular due to secular and political campaigns to marginalize it. Another factor not discussed has to do with the End of the World Noise that was going on prior to the 21st of December, irrational fears can lead to irrational actions, to an insane person a marketing campaign for the end of the world might actually mean the world is ending, thus, logic, morals, values don’t count. If we want to fix this it’s going to take restoring the American Dream and the associated morals and values, risk adverse socialism, based on moral relativism and Darwinian idealism will only lead to more disasters. Health and Safety over innovation and progress (not progressiveness) will destroy any society. The progress I am speaking of is that which makes lives easier without subtracting value and quality from the lives of individuals, this typically means technology and education on it’s application.

New Yorkers and as many people from out of state need to get their over 7 round magazines and march on the statehouse in Albany the first day they are banned completely and demand to be arrested. A simple peaceful protest that will overwhelm the justice system with law abiding citizens.
If such a ban is enacted nationally, the march should be on D.C. and all State Capitols.

This socialist marxist nazi administration is going to immediately create millions of felons by passing a law. hitler did it and hitler lives within this man. obama is hitler newly manifest. We saw it coming. I recommend everyone telephone their local police departments and inquire as to whether or not they will be confiscating their weapons. Arming our enemies and disarming us couldn’t bve any more obvious. We saw this in Russia.

I discovered that the “new and improved” definition of a “Liberal” is a person who allows no other person to express various views of any kind to their own. As non-liberal as anything can possibly be. All of the conservative sites allow EVERYONE to express their opinions and views without condition. Afraid of something by revoking my ability to speak my mind honestly. To teach your readers what I know from real experience.
I was allowed 3 posts on their site and revoked. According to the rules and regulations, I insulted nobody. I did mention that I was born in soviet Russia and a Marine Corps Sergeant (Jewish), married to a black, Syrian muslim and believe I should be allowed by law to protect my family by posessing a firearm in order to do so. The “LIBS” attacked me and my family for this.
I suggested that those who think Americans are evil people should move to countries that would be more accomodating for them. We risked our lives to be here
