With tragedy often times comes conspiracy. There are, of course, the 9/11 Truthers and now, in the wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, a growing subset of individuals are claiming that the entire tragedy was government manufactured — or that it never happened at all. While reports surrounding these notions have recently surfaced, they appear to be gaining steam.

Gene Rosen, a neighbor who lives nearby the school (TheBlaze reported about his involvement in helping some of the victims after the shooting unfolded) has confirmed that the bizarre conspiracy theories are raging, telling Salon.com that he has fallen victim to critics’ attacks. Rosen, 69, who discovered and then helped six children sitting in his driveway who had fled the school on the day of the shooting, is reportedly being harassed by individuals who dismiss Sandy Hook as a government-spawned cabal.

In an interview with Salon, the retired psychologist described the difficult scenario and the ongoing e-mails and phone calls he is receiving in the wake of the horrific rampage.

“I don’t know what to do. I’m getting hang-up calls, I’m getting some calls, I’m getting emails with, not direct threats, but accusations that I’m lying, that I’m a crisis actor, ‘how much am I being paid?,’” he told the outlet.

There’s so much information floating around about him that he has a friend who sweeps the web every day so that he doesn’t have to. Rosen has logged each phone call and e-mail exchange, too, and he has consulted with a retired state police officer who told him that nothing can be done at the moment. Still, he’s keeping records for his own safety, as the situation doesn’t seem to be simmering.

Social media accounts have been falsely started in his name, critics have dismissed him as a fraud and, as a result of all of the chaos, his wife fears for the couple’s safety.

CNN has more about this issue of harassment:

“How are all those little students doing? You know, the ones that showed up at your house after the ‘shooting,’” one e-mail read. “What is the going rate for getting involved in a gov’t sponsored hoax anyway?”

While Rosen was initially hesitant to talk to media about the harassment, as he did not want to enrage or embolden those who are already hammering him on a regular basis. However, after considering the importance of free speech and realizing that he was passionate about speaking out, he reached out to Salon and told his story.

“There must be some way to morally shame these people, because there were 20 dead children lying an eighth of a mile from my window all night long,” he told the outlet, while allegedly holding back tears. “And I sat there with my wife, because they couldn’t take the bodies out that night so the medical examiner could come. And I thought of an expression, that this ‘adds insult to injury,’ but that’s a stupid expression, because this is not an injury, this is an abomination.”

Conspiracy theories surrounding the shooting are nothing new. Since the event unfolded last month, select critics have come up with bizarre notions about what unfolded. Some professors even jumped in to posit their odd theories, with one claiming that Israeli security forces were responsible for the attack.

      First: This Administration thinks people are stupid. They think they can hold press conferences on the day of a incident and then 1-2 days later change the story completely about what really happened.

      This is what causes all the conspiracy theories. I blame the administration for thinking the American public is stupid/ they think they can show you a orange ball and tell you it is purple and the American public will believe them.

      UBETHECHANGE, And somehow that kid killed those children with an ‘assault rifle’ that was later found in the trunk of his car. Later, the attending medical examiner who claimed to have more knowledge of ‘long guns’ than many of his peers also claimed he was told not to speak of that knowledge, but said the children were killed by rounds from a long gun. The FOLLOWING DAY the FBI’s investigative team said the murders were accomplished with pistols only, and that Lanza’s body was found with four handguns. So, if you have the true and correct story, please fill us in step by step. Otherwise, you are a simpleton troll just trying to claim that anybody who now asks questions about obvious and recorded on video and audio inconsistencies are conspiracy theorists. I know that I am not a conspiracy theorists, and that I am a former investigator retired from LE, and I would like to see some consistency in this event. You’d think that with the administration’s ass on the line here to outlaw more guns, ammo, and magazines there would be at least some photographs of a bloody crime scene complete with spent shells scattered about the floors. No need to be gruesome and show the actual bodies, I’ve already seen too many anyway. But, some crime scene photos with at least some illustration that something happened would do more to provide actual proof to the public.

      TurnOff is right, this administration has proven it cannot be trusted, it will lie to your face about anything.

      But you also have to have some evidence before you start throwing around specific allegations. What kind of evidence is there that trumps the witness of hundreds of local residents? I have yet to hear any evidence that doesn’t make the accusers look absurd. There is no way to fake a story like this short of populating the entire town of Newtown, Connecticut with actors, and then they’d have to guarantee their silence for the rest of their lives.

      Maybe it didn’t happen the way the government says, but it certainly happened one way or the other. And if it didn’t happen the way the official story says, the local residents wouldn’t be privy to whatever changes were made, so they’re being harassed needlessly. And until I see concrete evidence that the official version of the account is rubbish, the simplest explanation is that a lone deranged individual shot up the school. And the simplest explanations are usually the right ones.

      I always look at these conspiracies with a skeptical eye. Some theories are just too outrageous to even wrap your head around. However then you get the ones that although you’d hope were delusions of of the paranoid, keep unearthing little tidbits that just don’t make sense. Something most people would over look is the fact that this guy, who is in the middle of a controversy over statements he made that don’t jive with the official story, when he finally decided to go to the media about the harassment he has suffered. Didn’t go to his local news. Not a national news outlet. Not even MSNBC or CNN. But SALON.com. Probably one of the most lefty news organizations ever to poke their little nose out of the Obama Admins back pocket.

      he wasnt a kid, he was a 24 year old adult, but that does not explain why there was gunfire coming over the intercom system. Two weeks prior to the shooting, there was a school wide safety exercise done for the exact scenario of a shooting inside the school. Gunfire was pumped through the whole building on the intercom, and the kids were trained and lead by teachers on calmly getting out of the school and where to go once outside. The teacher that gave a phone interview with diane sawyer I believe, the same day as the shooting, said she heard hundreds of shots fired, coming from the hallways. The guy did not shoot hundreds of rounds, and they were not from a fully automatic weapon as would need to be if she heard hundreds of shots fired in a short period of time. So this Gene guy is not lying about what he saw or did, but the interviews I’ve seen on the day and shortly after are very strange.

      Unfortunately The Blaze won’t watch this and do their own investigative reporting to either confirm or explain the all the eye witness accounts of additional people.

      The video has gone viral with over 8 million viewers in one week, and 75% of the viewers “like” the video which tells me that that amount of people are not pleased about the investigation or lack of answers, or they think that someone in our government did this?

      You need to see the clip of the medical examiner and the father that spoke at the press conference the very next day after the shooting. It is very concerning. I would never have previously considered the thought of such a conspiracy. That possibly some of the characters involved may not have been legitimate. Of course these people are dead. I did not get the messege from these videos that it was all staged, maybe some of the people were strategically placed to push an agenda? I don’t believe everything at face value anymore.

      I just want to know where the video is of this kid going into the school rambo style with a long rifle, bullet proof vest, handguns and hundreds of rounds of ammunition. I mean, imagine the picture that would paint. What kind of visual tool that would be for those pushing gun bans. We watched the videos of the Columbine tragedy over and over and over again. What gives? Oh, sorry. I’m being conspiritorial. I’ll shut up and go back to watching TMZ.

      Anyone that’s studied history realize that “false flags” are common place usually when one party wants to be bring about drastic change so with that in mind can’t Sandy Hook be somewhere in between the “official story” (whatever that is 33 days later) and that it did not happen at all?

      Can’t we question boldly Glenn Beck without resulting to the asinine conclusion that nothing happened at all and that we must demand criminalization of all conspiracy theories? You’re beginning to sound like someone else that wanted to ban conspiracy theories.. hmmm

      By the way what’s the difference in questioning boldly and a conspiracy theory? Isn’t the wrong assumption on a question the same as conspiracy theory?

      So what Glenn Beck and the Gov’t really want is total and complete thought control where nobody questions any of their evil doings. And all come to the same conclusion right Glenn?

      Why can’t we just trust the Gov’t to give us the straight facts the first time around? What about that? What about criminalizing any false reporting?

      I dont believe in conspiracies and I even dislike Beck a lot due to his propensity for conspiracies. That said, something is not right about this shooting. What happened to the other man who was arrested running into the woods? There are videos and new released of witnesses saying a man was arrested running into the woods. I was watching Fox and I distinctly remember hearing them say a 2nd man has been arrest running into the woods and and was yelling “It was me” when put into a police car. Also, how come there are NO witnesses who actually SAW Adam pull the trigger? Even the nurse who hid behind the desk said, “He probably came in” and in her next breath said, “I saw him from the knees down” Well, did she see him from the knees down or did the “probably”not come in. See my point? There are was too many inaccuracies with this story even weeks later! The is a some kind of coverup somewhere! When people tell lies, they can never get the start all the time. When people tell the truth, there is no question and the story never changes because you have a vivid memory of the event. When you lie, you have no memory…..you have to stop and think about what you said the last time and like most memories, they often fail when it comes to details. When you have an actually memory of the event, the details are still there. Understand?

      I agree. At first I too bought lock stock and barrel the massacre. However, I have seen videos of a S.H. survivor being interviewed and clearly in the background one sees a construction crew man in a yellow vest with a large stone as if he was building a wall. Would not the SWAT have secured the area? Also, an interview of a woman (crisis actor?) where she tells the interviewer that she received a text from her son and THEN from CBS news (twice). Why would CBS news have her cell phone number? With 911, we saw Rudy G. running to funerals. How come, we have yet to see politicians or families arriving for funerals? Probably some were killed. It needs to be investigated by REAL journalists just like Benghazi.

      @xyskalla……my theory is that this was not a staged event, but an actual event staged by others and a drugged Lanza, who was used to kill the innocent. Remember the other incident in Colorado, Did you see the killers eyes when appearing in court? I have seen people who are medicated/drugged. Perhaps he too was supposed to have kill himself, but didn’t. A death gone wrong? There are ligitamit reasons why people like you and me are asking questions…….it’s because the media isn’t and they should be!

      Have you seen footage from the school cameras of the lone murderer? The school had cameras, why haven’t we seen even one shot of the psycho entering the building? There isn’t a pending trial or any criminal case pending, that would prevent releasing some pictures. Maybe I missed it,but it would now put rest to a few questioning the story. I gave up koolaid years ago.

      Sorry but this whole thing stinks. Yes I do believe the children died and it was a horrible massacre. NO I do not believe the official story, as it changed every few minutes for 2 days after the massacre. The fact that nobody ever questions these things is sad. The medical examiner laughed in the interview the day after the massacre while speaking about the murdered children, which may be that the guy is just a sick b@st@rd but still. Look at the entirety of the situation, and how fast they switched from it being a couple of hand guns to a full on assault against semi auto weapons. Between this and the lay down your guns and go to jail comments I have stopped watching Glenn all together, and cancelled my blaze tv account. Does anyone really think that will work? We have plenty of room to jail you on military bases, old Japanese internment camps we have refurbished from WW2, and private facilities being built around the US. Just downright stupid to give up and go to jail in the hope you will some day get your day in court…which they no longer are required to give you thanks to the NDAA. Just sad to see this on one of the few places to find common sense people, making common sense arguments.

    Seriously….the guy gave several interviews and none make sense alone, much less compared to each other. It doesn’t take a “conspiracy theory” to see his inconsistencies. At the very least he is making himself a part of the story and not keeping his own lies straight.

      Snow, if you listen to the 2 hr police scanner audio, you get a completely different story. The Honda license plates returned the name of a convicted felon, the rifle was found in the car and WAS NOT used to shoot anybody, multiple suspects were apprehended, and children reported 2 other suspects dressed as nuns that got away in a purple van. Photos of these nuns have turned up on various sites — clearly men in drag. Something very, very wrong is going on here and Obama is covering it all up, I do not think Adam Lanza did this — he was sacrificed as a patsy.

      If what you have described is true, then my suspicions are that the Speedway Bomber (Brett Kimberlin) is involved. This is the guy that the Obama administration HIRED to harass conservative bloggers such as Breitbart – he was responsible for SWATting a number of them (making fake 911 calls and sending SWAT teams to their homes, trying to provoke a shooting incident). He lives in Maryland, so it wouldn’t be that big of a stretch for him to drive to Connecticut with another Obama zombie to engineer something like this.

    something just stinks. I wated the video of the med. examiner in it’s entirety…what a freak! So glad it hasn’t affected him and he hasn’t cried about it yet. Some one please post one video of a parent crying with tears. Not saying it didn’t happen but what we are being told is just strange and it doesn’t make sense. Plus they show footage of a long riffle being taken out of the trunk of the car at the scene but the examiner says they were shot with the long weapon. WTH?

      It’s worse than that. Here’s video of the police removing the weapon from the trunk. At about 1:24 in, it shows police clearing the weapon. It clearly is NOT an AR -15. It’s actually a semi-auto shotgun.

    happened and the following day when they interviewed Rosen, though his actions with the children were honorable, he seemed very strange. Perhaps he wants to continue his fifteen minutes of

      Why is asking and wanting answers wrong or makes someone crazy? That’s is exactly what what the tyrants want you to do. Sit down and shut up.

      There are more questions than answers with this whole situation. We were told initially that there were camera. Where are the videos showing him entering the school? Where are the pictures of ANY of the crime scene? You know the media NEVER refuses to show anything that can be sensationalized but yet they have shown not one picture of the crime scene.

      The whole situation just does not make sense to a logical, critical thinking person. Of course, that also requires you to not be a controlled by government robot.

      Answer the questions and most of this will go away.

    This man should not be botherd by people without proof. The Sandy Hook shooting is so full of holes that it is astounding. He only used pistols, no wait a minute he used a bushmaster. There where only two pistols. Oh, now we have four pistols, 911 tapes say shotgun and bushmaster found in the school early on. Then there is a bushmaster pulled from the trunk after dark, how did that get there? Where is the footage of 600 students leaving the school? Why did they say the car he drove to the school belonged to the mother when it did not. Where is video from school cameras. How about at least a shot of some broken glas at the door? I don’t know what happend to be truthful, but the media gets a F for failure on this one.

      Thank you for pointing out that it is the media that gets an F for failure on this story. Many conspiracy theorists have pointed out that the media’s reporting inconsistencies proves that the government was somehow involved. No – it only means that the reporting was sketchy that day and in the days that followed, and that due to the nature of the crime and of the victims involved, the pictures and proof that so many of these conspiracy theorists seem to need are not, and should not, be accessible to the public. I have read the same reports and seen the same footage as everyone else and not at any time did I ever come the the conclusion that the government, or some Middle East faction, was involved with this crime. A sane mind doesn’t need pictures, or even good reporting, to figure out that most of the time things are what they are and not something else.

      If you have ever interviewed a witness multiple times, you will discover their story usually contains contradictions, additional observation and plain speculation.

      If you have ever had to participate in an after mission debrief, you learn to have all particpants available so you can get some semblence of what really happened.

      In any case, this man doesn’t deserve to be a recipient of the types of calls and emails he is getting.

      @DismayedVeteran – As a vet myself, I have participated in numerous AARs and I understand how unreliable eyewitness testimony can be. However, the facts that get switched are usually details that we add to increase the credibility of the story in our own mind – such as exact numbers, or colors, or make/model of vehicles, or even exact words used. He switched the gender of the bus drivers in multiple interviews. It also doesn’t pass the smell test that a psychologist would not IMMEDIATELY call the cops if 6 young kids were roaming around during a school day, or that a school bus driver would let a stranger take kids into his house without calling the police.

      Now, does he deserve death threats and harrassment? No. Does the media need to do a better job investigating, rather than just believing whatever a person is saying? Very much, yes. I do not believe this is a vast comspiracy, but a poorly investigated story. Good questions demand good answers. Let us ask better questions than our media outlets have been asking and not rest until the answers are sufficient.

    I’d love to see comments on the discrepancies…I have tried, yet haven’t been able to debunk the allegations, many of which I witnessed and wondered at in real time: Why did he wait over an hour to notify anyone? Why were the emergency vehicles blocked from going in? How is it that there are no videos and only one still? Can anyone speak up who was involved in the “crisis training exercise” just twenty minutes away? Why were the fund raising pages and the RIP pages posted prior to the tragedy? Admittedly, what do I know? I’m just a public school teacher, watching all six sides for the sake of my kids.

    Like all unfolding violent tragedies, the news media is so quick to throw out information about stories as they develop in the hope that they get something right…while also getting an edge on a fellow news competitor. In doing so, they get so much information wrong and never go back to retract misleading information. I guess they think that they get “new facts” no retraction or apology is necessary. As the awful events of Sandy Hook unfolded, the television news outlets were alleging that 2-3 shooters were involved. They even had footage of a police foot-chase and through the woods and eventual apprehension of a possible suspect. Remember the eyewitnesses that said they saw another suspect who verbally expressed that he “didn’t do it”? I’m not saying the murders occurring at Sandy Hook were a governmental conspiracy or hoax, but I am saying that the media only throws fuel on the fire of conspiracies when they do not follow-through with responsible investigative journalism in the aftermath of such tragedies. How hard would it be for a reporter to go back and follow-up on those supposed newsworthy tidbits of information to either prove or disprove its truthfulness? When they don’t, us stubborn-minded news consumers, who do not so easily forget everything we are continuously force-fed by the news media, get evermore suspicious of already mistrusted news organizations and the government officials they go out of their way to protect.

      I’ve watched a number of videos, and then do some research for myself when the info seems suspicious. From that I’ve posted on this story that this Gene Rosen is not the same one listed as a Screen Actors Guild member. The one on their roles lives in LA. I also believe that these children and adults were killed, and no, not by some government conspiracy. But, the government is taking advantage of this acting the expected role of the ghouls they truly are. The stories of the guns used and on the scene are contrived though, and somebody has actively lied to us on that. The media has asked very few questions and has hardly corrected their mistakes from the very beginning. There is still a lot of BS out there on this incident, and I watched a president at lunch time try to use yet another disaster to his advantage.

      I’m with you jarhead. All I’m saying is there is a lot that just plain stinks about this whole situation. Robbie Parker, the freak medical examiner, the school nurse stating that Lana’s mom was a wonderful kindergarten teacher at the school when she was never a teacher at any school, people from Florida posing as parents of children at the school, this gene Rosen guy and his strange story (stories). Why or how did the kids end up at the end of his driveway when there is a fire station between the school and his house. Why did a bus driver drop them off there? Who was the bus driver? How did they get on a bus? The road in all the pictures was jammed with cars and emergency personnel after the alleged shooting, so Rosen is saying these kids appeared at his driveway and there was nothing going on and he did not know what was happening, so he took them in his house? Why ambulances and fire trucks not at the school, but remained up the road at the fire house? Why does the fire house have a sign that says sandy hook school in front of it? Who was the guy chased up in the woods and apprehended on video? The list goes on and on. All I’m saying is I have a lot of questions that do not have answers that make any sense.

Came up with a lot of videos that mentioned that, but finally came up with a listing of Gene Rosen who lives in LA and works for SAG. Otherwise I really found no hard proof that this guy is a member of SAG. Frankly, I don’t find it hard to believe that he is not a SAG member, he certainly cannot act.
