Here Are the 23 ‘Executive Actions’ Obama Will Be Taking on Guns
Below is a list of the 23 “executive actions” that the president will be taking in the wake of the Sandy Hook massacre. Via the Wall Street Journal.
“There’s very little in this part that will be too big or controversial,” claims Business Insider. “It’s very small bore regulatory stuff.”
We’ll let you decide:
1. Issue a Presidential Memorandum to require federal agencies to make relevant data available to the federal background check system.
2. Address unnecessary legal barriers, particularly relating to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, that may prevent states from making information available to the background check system.
3. Improve incentives for states to share information with the background check system.
4. Direct the Attorney General to review categories of individuals prohibited from having a gun to make sure dangerous people are not slipping through the cracks.
5. Propose rulemaking to give law enforcement the ability to run a full background check on an individual before returning a seized gun.
6. Publish a letter from ATF to federally licensed gun dealers providing guidance on how to run background checks for private sellers.
7. Launch a national safe and responsible gun ownership campaign.
8. Review safety standards for gun locks and gun safes (Consumer Product Safety Commission).
9. Issue a Presidential Memorandum to require federal law enforcement to trace guns recovered in criminal investigations.
10. Release a DOJ report analyzing information on lost and stolen guns and make it widely available to law enforcement.
11. Nominate an ATF director.
12. Provide law enforcement, first responders, and school officials with proper training for active shooter situations.
13. Maximize enforcement efforts to prevent gun violence and prosecute gun crime.
14. Issue a Presidential Memorandum directing the Centers for Disease Control to research the causes and prevention of gun violence.
15. Direct the Attorney General to issue a report on the availability and most effective use of new gun safety technologies and challenge the private sector to develop innovative technologies.
16. Clarify that the Affordable Care Act does not prohibit doctors asking their patients about guns in their homes.
17. Release a letter to health-care providers clarifying that no federal law prohibits them from reporting threats of violence to law-enforcement authorities.
18. Provide incentives for schools to hire school resource officers.
19. Develop model emergency-response plans for schools, houses of worship and institutions of higher education.
20. Release a letter to state health officials clarifying the scope of mental-health services that Medicaid plans must cover.
21. Finalize regulations clarifying essential health benefits and parity requirements within ACA exchanges.
22. Commit to finalizing mental-health-parity regulations.
23. Launch a national dialogue led by Secretaries Sebelius and Duncan on mental health.

24 – have task force figure out why black Americans are 12.5% of the population, and do 1/2 the nations murders.
25 – Lower black murder rates to that of whites, making the national murder rate drop by almost 40%, also save man black lives, and have a national murder rate that is as low as the lowest nations in Europe
26 – Direct Chicago, and other cities with the highest gun violence to ditch their tight gun control policies, thus making criminals not feel so safe, and allowing law abiding citizens to protect themselves
27 – prosecute DOJ Eric Holder for putting “assault weapons” in the hands of drug dealing gangs that in turn murdered hundreds of Mexican citizens and one of our border patrol agents
28- Systematically ditch the welfare programs. Our violent crimes are intrinsically tied to our welfare programs
29 – Seal the border, and punish business that hires illegal workers. Have our welfare folks begin to do the work the immigrants were coming here to do, this will lower taxes, and cut back on crime. When the welfare crowd goes back to work, they will have less time for drugs, sex outside of marriage, and other violent activities
30 – I will read the constitution, and realize that the founding fathers did not recognize citizens rights to arm themselves to hunt, target shoot, or collect guns, but did recognize that right, so they could protect themselves against a corrupt govern

Posted on January 16, 2013 at 4:39pmHe said “If it will save one life” we have to act.
Ok, Mr. President. I have an idea that will indisputably save countless lives. No one can counter that this idea will not save lives, and many more than the ONE that meets your criteria. Many will call this idea by many names, but it is just based in fact. It is based in demographics. It is based in the reality of where most of the gun violence is occurring. It is based on who the shooters are in most of the murders in our inner cities.
My idea is this:
In any city where the majority voted for you, we need to dis-arm any young man between the ages if 16-30 that looks like he COULD BE YOUR SON. Police will be authorized to frisk anyone meeting that description at any time. Anyone found to be carrying a firearm will be arrested, held without bail, tried and if convicted will spend a minimum of 10 years in prison. That will save many more lives than what you are offering in banning “assault weapons” and magazines.
Yes, it is unconstitutional, but that hasn’t stopped you yet. Will you do it ? No. Will you consider it ? No. Would you even admit to how many murders are beings committed by young black men killing other young black men ? No. You don’t care about young black men any more than you care about young black children in the womb. As long as you can push your progressive agenda you don’t care about anyone.
As long as you and yours are protected by firearms the rest of us can “eat cake”.

Mandate NRA membership to comply with this initiative or the Draft for Military service since that would also teach weapons familiarization and safety. Plus military service would keep the 18-24 yr olds that may commit most of the crime under Federal custody and teach them job skills etc etc etc…

Posted on January 16, 2013 at 5:55pmThis why people are starting to think that conservatives are whack jobs. You can’t even think about coming just a little bit into the middle, can you?
1) There is no correlation between violent video games and violent crimes except that violent crimes have dropped significantly since there inception. If you don’t want your kid to play them, don’t let your kid play them, period. The average gamer is 37-years old, don’t punish me because you can’t control little Timmy. Btw, the same goes for movies. (Why haven’t you mentioned books? Maybe because you can’t read?)
2) When you keep drumming that African American murder rates you just look racist. Chances are those rates have more to do with there poverty and less to do with their color. In my area most of the criminals tend to be white.
3) There are plenty of mental health issues that aren’t going to turn people into mass murderers. Adam Lanza’s Aspergers probably had zero to nil to do with what he did. All you are going to do is alienate a group of people that will then turn to the liberals when they see that the right has abandoned them.
I am a big fan of the 2nd Amendment. I own a gun myself and I want to keep it. I don’t think anyone has the right to know that I know said gun. I just think we are going to lose the battle if you keep harping one the wrong subjects.

You say “2) When you keep drumming that African American murder rates you just look racist. Chances are those rates have more to do with there poverty and less to do with their color. In my area most of the criminals tend to be white”
That is the problem. Speaking the TRUTH looks racist ? To who ?? Only morons.
Here is a link to homicides in Baltimore, Md. : http://tinyurl.com/6a4jkn
Play with the stats all you want. It is pretty grim for blacks. For 2012 there were 172 blacks shot and killed while there were 7 whites. Do you really think it was a bunch of white people that shot and killed 172 blacks ?
In Baton Rouge, La. it is just as bad if not worse. The Advocate yesterday printed stats that said that last year (2102), 83 people died by homicide in Baton Rouge. Of that number, 87 percent were black, and 87 percent were male. Two-thirds had been in trouble with the law before, and one-third had been in trouble with the law for drugs. The median age of victims: 26.
Of the perpetrators, the median age was 22. Get this: 96 percent of them were black, and 90 percent were male. Almost two-thirds had previous arrests. One out of four had a drug record.
96 percent of the perps were black……90 percent were male.
Speaking the truth is not racism.
Poverty has NOTHING to do with this. There are many poor places in Appalachia with plenty of guns where this does not happen. This is a problem of culture that this president will not address.

Rick Perry of the great state of Texas today blasted Barack Obama and his Obamaist extremist followers for exploiting the death of children in order to promote their Liberty restricting agenda. He said, “Guns require a finger to pull the trigger…There is evil prowling in the world – it shows up in our movies, video games and online fascinations, and finds its way into vulnerable hearts and minds. As a free people, let us choose what kind of people we will be…The piling on by the political left, and their cohorts in the media, to use the massacre of little children to advance a pre-existing political agenda that would not have saved those children, disgusts me, personally. The second amendment to the Constitution is a basic right of free people and cannot be nor will it be abridged by the executive power of this or any other president.” AMEN GOV. PERRY. The graphic violence depicted in movies is not what a person with

Posted on January 17, 2013 at 12:38amThis is the nudge not the push. It is my belief that they will use the mental health aspect to remove our right to bear arms. It will start out slow with doctors only reporting really deranged individuals, then from there it will be for anyone that has ever visited a mental health doctor or taken a mood altering drug. I hope I am wrong about this, but this administration is all about rules for radicals everything they do has an ulterior motive.

You just don’t understand anything about the constitution do you? There is no middle ground when it comes to anything in it. It is written so that anyone with even half a brain can understand it, why are you libs always trying to define it to mean whatever you want it to mean to fit your ideological agendas? If any of the proposed garbage would do anything to prevent further mass shootings without infringing on our rights to privacy maybe I would look at it but I have a tendency not to want to be nudged by your hero. Just ask old Cass Sunstein about that everyone in this administration is all about the nudge to get you headed in the direction that they want you to go, just like the proverbial sheep that you are if you don’t question what these lunatics are doing. My guns are none of your business and anything you do to impede my RIGHT to keep and bear arms does piss me off. Registration of any kind is not an option I can live with. I already hate that so many people are in favor of not allowing people with any kind of mental health issue own a gun. There are states right now making it so ex-servicemen can’t be barred from owning guns because of having PTSD. Barring people who have sought mental healthcare from owning guns will only discourage people from seeking said care. Blaming video games, rap music, movies, TV, race, religion, or anything else is just not going to work. The fact is, there are always going to be people that will seek to do violence and they will find a way. My doctor has no business asking me if I have guns in the home and that’s the answer he will get from me. The Federal Government has more than enough information on me through my doctor, bank, you name it. It’s nobody’s business if I own a gun ( especially the FG ) unless I want them to.
All 23 are nothing more than a power and personal info grab by this communist administration.

Once all resistance to me is eliminated I will rule over you for life, come on it’s not like you don’t want me to anyway, look at all the idiots that voted for me they can hardly speak intelligible English and refuse to work but they know a dictator when they see one and they want to be slaves. The cost of Obamacare will go through the roof!

No Congress does not have the money, or the will power, to finance an enhanced spy system on Americans who are supposed to be given the benefit of the doubt as “innocent until proven guilty”?
We are not “clinging to our guns”, we are saying that defending the present laws (not create new laws), is all that is required, and that responsible citizens will lead by example, and they will be followed, not by mandate, but by common sense, and that makes the United States stronger, builds unity, and allows our children to say “Thanks Dad, we did not understand what was going on, but now we know, thanks!”?
I’m sorry would you like me to change the wording so you can call it a personal attack on a politician, when it is an attack on our civil rights?

Oppose, lie and evade cooperating with these snoops. House needs to start defunding a trillion in govt programs and we can have close to a balanced budget. I suggest they start with EPA, DOE, Dept.of Education, and HHS. Nothing these groups do that can’t be transferred to the states. Undermine the opposition, dangle half truths and keep other side in an uproar stumbling and screaming over each trying to uncover all hidden agendas ,his lies, secrets, etc.,. He holds out/on to things for a reason and when it becomes necessary to advance his agenda, he will discredit all by pulling out a card at the opportune moment, and who looks the fool then? Posted on January 16, 2013 at 3:31pmI had a feeling that’s what this was all about. Last year, for the first time, all parents had to fill out forms for the public school systems not just our emergency phone numbers, but including if our homes had any guns. Also, last year, our doctor did the same thing asking us about guns via paperwork. This is all scheduled and planned out at this time for these executive orders to be released and signed… so the school massacre seems really odd because it’s such at a convenient time.

The Impeachment Process
In the House of Representatives
•The House Judiciary Committee decides whether or not to proceed with impeachment. If they do…
•The Chairman of the Judiciary Committee will propose a Resolution calling for the Judiciary Committee to begin a formal inquiry into the issue of impeachment.
•Based on their inquiry, the Judiciary Committee will send another Resolution to the full House stating that impeachment is warranted and why (the Articles of Impeachment), or that impeachment is not called for.
•The Full House (probably operating under special floor rules set by the House Rules Committee) will debate and vote on each Article of Impeachment.
•Should any one of the Articles of Impeachment be approved by a simple majority vote, the President will be “impeached.” However, being impeached is sort of like being indicted of a crime. There still has to be a trial, which is where the US Senate comes in.

“Tell the American people never to lose their guns. As long as they keep their guns in their hands, what happened here will never happen there.” – 1990, a student from Beijing, China, describes the last words of her parents, killed at Tiananmen Square
“All military type firearms are to be handed in immediately … The SS, SA and Stahlhelm give every respectable German man the opportunity of campaigning with them. Therefore anyone who does not belong to one of the above named organizations and who unjustifiably nevertheless keeps his weapon … must be regarded as an enemy of the national government.” -SA Oberfuhrer of Bad Tolz, March, 1933
“Corruptisima republica plurimae leges.” (The more corrupt the state, the more numerous the laws.) -Tacitus, Anals III 27
“The people of the various provinces are strictly forbidden to have in their possession any swords, bows, spears, firearms, or other types of arms. The possession of these elements makes difficult the collection of taxes and dues, and tends to permit uprising. Therefore, the heads of provinces, official agents, and deputies are ordered to collect all the weapons mentioned above and turn them over to the government.” -Toyotomi Hideyoshi, Shogun of Japan, August 29, 1558
“Germans who wish to use firearms should join the SS or the SA — ordinary citizens don’t need guns, as their having guns doesn’t serve the State.” -Heinrich Himmler

Posted on January 16, 2013 at 4:29pm1.) There’s no evidence that medication leads to violent behavior, but rather the DISEASE being treated with medication is causing violent behavior.
2.) There’s no evidence that shows a link between watching violence and actually causing violence. Rather, there IS evidence that people do things like what happened in Sandy Hook because of the amount of media attention it will get them. They are lonely. They are misunderstood. They lack parental involvement, but hey! The media will make sure everyone knows there name, they will be the talk of the town for months on end, people will finally question what was/is wrong with them, etc.
These people who do mass shootings have mental illnesses that need TREATMENT with medication. And yes, we probably need to institutionalize more people who show violent tendancies. Adam Lanza should have been in a facility where he received round-the-clock supervision and attention, and with possible medical treatment he could’ve lived a long, fruitful life — albeit behind the walls of a mental health institution.
Parents, on both the left and the right, though, would rather not admit that their children have problems, or (infinitely worse) try and solve those problems without medical attention and treatment.

Posted on January 16, 2013 at 6:05pmOK Let’s look at a couple of problems here. You will need at least two or more gun safes so that guns can be accessible to you no matter where the bad guys enter your home. They would be useless if they are all in the room with the bad guys and you are not. Second point a combination lock should be preferable to carrying your safe key at all times in the home and out, also a combination lock would lessen the likelihood of your mentally ill family member killing you for the key.
On the question of locking doors one way. A small child must be able to go in and out do you propose that they carry a card or key? Or would you take it a step further and have the children micro-chipped because that would be easier than keeping track of where little Johnny put his key/card? It would be better if there was only one entrance for schools as there is for large firms and that is through the office. Office staff to be armed, or protected by safety shields that would bar entry.
