During MSNBC’s “The Cycle” on Wednesday, TheBlaze TV’s S.E. Cupp slammed her fellow MSNBC co-host Touré after he accused Southern states of being racist for filing secession petitions due to President Barack Obama’s policies. He said petitions demonstrate that “Southern people” really don’t want to “be in a country run by a black man.”

“The slew of secession petitions out of the south really interests me,” Touré said. “This idea that there are a lot of Southern people who want to have nothing to do with Obama’s America.”

“I think they’re talking about, ‘we don’t want to be in a country run by a black man,’” he added.

“That’s so offensive that you’re maligning an entire region of the country and injecting race into their psyches because they don’t like the polices of this president,” Cupp replied.

Cupp went on to say that “secessionism” is “offensive” to her but it’s “equally offensive to call these folks racist when you know nothing of their viewpoints and don’t know anything of their criticisms.”

    I moved from NYC to North Carolina. I can not believe I used to pay so much to live in that dump with nasty people. My wife says she rather be dead than move back. I live with mostly white people which I like. They are very respectful. I do not like blacks and other minorities. By enlarge they are stupid and more inclined to commit crimes.. You can call me a racist, stupid and anything else you like. I don’t care. My wife and I like it here.. i was surprised to find out that people actually had teeth.. imagine that. Some of us are really tired of being told how we should behave. I guess I really don’t give a F_ _ _ about what you think…We should separated. Half the country for those that want to work and the other half for the low lives.. My taxes would be lower and my children would have a future.

    This is the definition of secession….

    Look who’s assuming now! ALL of that is on RECORD–there ARE records of their LAWS (past and present). There ARE various types of media filled with evidence of their “viewpoints and criticisms.” It’s not a mystery–it’s not IMPOSSIBLE, or even particularly DIFFICULT, to gauge the general consensus of Americans in general, or southern Americans in particular, when a general consensus exists (which isn’t always). And no, not ALL southerners are racist–just ENOUGH of them to control many important and powerful institutions, set policy, and control the dominant culture.

    I believe that BO has been pushed and goaded into communism for so long by his mentor and others close to him growing up and now by his close circle of dems , libs and progs that he actually believes this crap will be a cakewalk.
    But in reality all they’ve accomplished is to awaken a sleeping giant. Just like Japan did in 1941.
    Most Conservatives are too busy working and providing for their families and don’t have the time to spend turning out for protests and such as do the libs.
    BUT! Prod us too much and we will defend ourselves and our rights!
    They are SCARED now. The desperation and name calling are’nt working. More and more people buying guns and joining the NRA.
    Every time they speak we get stronger!

    SE, I am a southerner and I can tell you that I have seen more racial discrimination in the northeast than I ever saw in the south. This guy, on SpinCycle, is just out of touch and doesn’t have a clue about what he is talking about. Don’t confuse a dislike for progressive/socialist values with racism…

    The racist with the darker skin tone has the superior form of racism. With his own skin color as his sole defense for abject, vapid ignorance, anyone who disagrees can have their intelligence maligned on the basis of that skin color. It is the saddest descent into surface shallow I have ever witnessed since 1789 and the French Revolution. How Touré has been given a voice is beyond my imagination, but that the producers are as shallow as he. It is the end of “the content of his character…”, and exclusively the color of his skin. Pundit? He is an irritating, vacuous pedant…a jester without the bells.

    The MTV has-been, Touré, just like his MSNBC colleague, Chris Matthews, are racists. While pointing their finger, irrationally and with no substantiation at all at those with whom they disagree, ideologically, these two MSNBC employees have four fingers pointing right back at themselves.

    IF ONLY Government would teach the TRUTH about Slavery….Thet were slaves BEFORE they came here……From the homeland of Africa. How is that continent working out…..200 years later? STILL slaughtering the Black people!

      There’s SO much wrong with what you said. So here’s a list of things a child could tell you that you OUGHT to know, but clearly DON’T:
      (1) Just because someone ELSE does something wrong, DOESN’T make it right for YOU to copy them–I don’t care WHY they were enslaved or WHO enslaved them; KEEPING them as slaves, and PARTICIPATING in the slave trade is still heinously immoral.
      (2) Basic lesson in economics–slaves don’t get sold without a BUYER–that buyer was almost exclusively EUROPEANS (true, there was some slave-taking between tribes, just as there has been in almost every culture, but do you know what REALLY made that practice EXPLODE? The DEMAND created by FOREIGN wealthy purchasers. Nor was it exclusively Africans enslaving Africans–many Arabs, some Europeans, and other foreigners usually from the Middle East but sometimes further afield, also trafficked in humans) who needed the labor in the New World to produce the raw materials for their industries back in Europe (some were also desired as servants there, but their principle value to the Europeans was cash crop farming and the trans-Atlantic trade).
      (3) The “truth about slavery” is that it is an awful blight on human history, a crime against humanity, and a powerful shaping force on the modern world and socioeconomy and more specifically the distribution of wealth and power therein. Ignorance may be comfortable and easy for YOU, but it is ugly and destructive to the world.
