Fast and Furious: Man Claims to Be the Man Who Murdered U.S. Border Agent Brian Terry

A Mexican national who turned himself in on Wednesday claims to be the man who murdered U.S. Border Agent Brian Terry, whose death is at the center of the Obama administration’s “Fast and Furious” gun-walking scandal.

Gustavo Cruz-Lozano confessed to killing Terry after he turned himself in for allegedly threatening to kill Hidalgo County, Texas Sheriff Lupe Trevino, ABC News reports.

But before he surrendered himself, Cruz-Lozano said in an exclusive interview with Univision News’ daily news magazine show “Primer Impacto” that he murdered Terry during a firefight on Dec. 14, 2010, while the agent was on patrol near the U.S.-Mexico border in Arizona. Two AK-47 rifles found at the scene were linked to the botched Operation Fast and Furious, in which the U.S. government sought to track firearms sales to violent drug cartels. But it remains unclear whether those weapons were used to kill Terry.

Cruz-Lozano, 41, was not one of the several suspects arrested in the aftermath of Terry’s slaying. But in an interview with Univision News, he insisted he is the one who pulled the trigger on Terry.

“We had a drug shipment and when they took us by surprise, people started surrounding them, and that’s when we ambushed them,” he told “Primer Impacto” correspondent Natalia Cruz. “When they started surrounding them and they had no time to react, I was the one, I was the one that killed him.”

Federal officials had not been able to identify the man who pulled the trigger in the Terry case, though there is no guarantee that Cruz-Lozano is telling the truth. The Federal Bureau of Investigation asked to view his interview with Univision News, which Cruz-Lozano agreed to and was aired on Thursday.

The Terry family’s attorney, Lincoln Colmbs, told Univision News that he was skeptical about the man’s claims because his name has not been mentioned anywhere in the investigation so far. Watch Cruz-Lozano’s interview with Univision below:

During Operation Fast and Furious, nearly 2,000 guns were allowed to walk across the border into Mexico. ATF lost track of about 1,400 of them and the guns ended up in the hands of drug cartel members and roughly 100 were used in an number of killings and crimes, including Terry’s murder.

Cruz-Lozano reportedly told Univision News that he was going to reveal his identity to the FBI because he doesn’t want to be a fugitive anymore and hopes his confession will get him a life sentence instead of the death penalty.

“If it were in front of this man, not only would say that I am sorry but that I am willing to pay for all the crimes I committed,” he said.

Whether he did it or is seeking to survive when the cartel has a price on his head or life is too dangerous across the border, we still haven’t been told why the U.S. Government allowed that many AK-47s to cross the border and be used by cartels. We still haven’t gotten an answer about what the U.S. Ambassador was doing in Benghazi before he was killed after dinner with the Turkish representative and records were burned. Where did the weapons provided to Libya go after Obama allowed Gadaffi to be assassinated? Where did the weapons confiscated, including weapons of mass destruction, go also? It all got successfully covered up by disinformation, and even by an assassination of our Ambassador. DId anyone notice?
Sometimes one could wonder if all this attention on U.S. guns right now is a way to deflect all our attention on those guns to our own. Someone once said, “The best best defense is a good offense.” Gun control regulation in the U.s. (not given out freely elsewhere) sure is a good one.

  Do you THINK they are going to tell you that they shipped them to Mexico so they can do exactly what they did? LIE about how many guns from America were going across the border and insist that we need “More gun Control”? ANYONE that cannot connect the “dots” needs to do more research. When someone tells you they “did it to track guns” yet only have tracking devices in 10 of the 2000 guns …WHICH were not all together in one shipment…and then never even TRIED to follow the guns after they crossed the border, They never TOLD the Mexican Government what they were doing…and laughed in “Glee” every time there was a killing…..Suffice it to say that our Government is not only crooked, but criminal.

Time for a review session; Holder sent 2000 guns over the border which have been utilized in `300-400 murders already, and there are 300,000,000 plus guns (many of which are rifles) in this country. there are 300 plus murders a year with rifles in this country? The same people who are making these decisions have their finger on the button, and are trying to make our armament decisions in this country? Based on What????

Failed Fast and Furious by the Gov’t and the Gov’t is behind the Sandy Hook murders to. Where are the real journalists of times past? They were able to dig up all the dirt in Watergate on Nixon. Why do they not have the ba!!s to do it now? Oh wait they love the agenda; at all costs no matter what it takes to force your agenda. Cover up cover up and more cover ups. There is just to much out there about these killings that does not add up. GE Capitol Dads of two of the killers recently; CO & CT; both to testify in a Grand Jury issue. Both of there sons become serial killers overnight and whine up dead or completely insane. The plot thickens…NBC / GE Capital top people in the Whitehouse all the time.   11 days before Terry was to go home for his 1st holiday vacation (Christmas) in 3 years he was moved to another outpost 100 miles away. He was taken out into the wilderness late at night (on the US side of the border) and was given a beanbag shotgun for protection. He was shot in the back, beneath his vest, right in the spine and the badass Cartel bandits dropped their perfectly good AK’s and fled. The bullet that killed Terry was never identified. Can you say whistle blower and Vince Foster in the same sentence?
