During Thursday’s edition of “The Five,” co-hosts Bob Beckel and Greg Gutfeld go into a heated exchange over gun violence and the National Rifle Association, which Beckel called “thugs” and the “most evil lobby” in Washington.

Gutfeld criticized liberals, including Beckel, for being hypocritical and focusing on just one percent of gun crimes, like when a mass shooting happens, and ignoring the bloody violence that occurs in places like Chicago every day.

“This a great issue for the left because they appear to be tough on crime, when really they are only tough on guns,” Gutfeld said.

“Because the NRA, the thugs, don’t let them do it,” Beckel interrupted.

“It’s the liberals!” Gutfeld shot back. “Why is it that you guys on the left only focus on one percent of the crime when in Chicago you have, what, one Newtown every two weeks? You have 42 people dying. Why is that not a problem to you?”

Gutfeld went on to say that handguns are the weapon of choice for criminals, yet the left is talking about banning semi-automatic rifles.

“I’m for banning hand guns,” Beckel said, shocking all of his co-hosts.

“They demonize the NRA but they won’t talk about gangs,” Gutfeld said, before asking, “The NRA is as dangerous as the Latin Kings?”

“They are the most evil lobby in all of Washington,” Beckel shot back.

Want to see a liberals go speechless on gun control? Ask these questions.

Do you know that blacks make up 12.5% of the population, but do ½ of the nation’s murders?

Do you know that by lowering black murder rates to the same as whites, we would lower the national murder per capita rate by 40%, we would also have a murder rate as low as the lowest nations in Europe, and we would save thousands of black lives?

Would you like to save black lives? What do you suggest we do to lower black murder rates?

Do you know that 70% of our murders in the US are gang related? Other than having his DOJ give “assault weapons” to Mexican drug gangs, what is Obama doing to combat gang violence?

Do you know that that our violent crimes are intrinsically tied to liberal welfare programs? Do you suggest we start phasing out these programs, being they have not succeeded in lowing poverty rates, but have instead raised it.

Do you realize that for three decades, MTV has continuously portrayed the black man as a thuggish brute that has bitches and hoes, walks around adorned in gaudy gold jewelry, wearing clownish clothes three times to big, is a gangster, and has contributed to blacks glorifying a criminal lifestyle?

  75% of gun murders are “gang bangers” and 4% are Legal Owners.

  Criminality is not genetic, nor has it ever been.
  
  Skin color is benign and non-behavioral. People do not commit crimes because of the color of thier skin.
  
  What we do know, is that democrat programs, welfare, multicultural education, MTV, violent rap….. have all contributed to a serious problem of violence and murder within the black communities in the US.
  
  Because of the liberal mandated laws of political correctness, no one is supposed to speak of these facts, nor do liberals want anyone to try to solve these problems. It detracts from their agenda
  
  Notice that over 500 people (mostly black) were murdered in Chicago, this year alone. The mass majority were killed via cheap or stolen hand guns. Less that 3% were killed with a rifle of any type, but Obama and the libs are clamoring for banning rifles. What does that tell us? It would seem to me that libs believe that rich white kids from Connecticut matter, but blacks from the South Side of Chicago do not, otherwise, Obama and crowd would be talking lowering murder rates, and not outlawing the least used weapon in crimes.
  
  Contrary to popular belief, most AR owners, use them for sport. we shoot national match at Camp Perry, do 3-gun, Varmint shoots, and NRA high-power matches. They are to expensive for criminals.

  Why would anyone think the Progressives would want to solve the problem that they worked so diligently to create. If you understand Progressives then you know that they must agitate and create chaos in order to justify implementing their Progressive oppression on the rest of humanity.   This is addressing a nationwide MASS shooting epidemic, the worst one (not the latest) just had 20 little children sometimes almost cut in half with up to 11 rounds shot into one child, 5-7 rounds in most of the others.
  
  The immediate issue is not black on black gang crime in Chicago which has been going on for decades. Nice try though, your side looks ridiculous in all of this.

  How are they connected to welfare programs? yes gang violence and violence in the inner city is a big problem. mostly due to lack of education in those areas and of course poverty. so how exactly would taking away what money they do have make the people less violent? You think taking away a persons means to eat and their house will make them less susceptible to crime? If anything it would do the exact opposite, because now you have to kill and rob people just to get food. you see that right? however i do think that gang violence and inner city violence isa huge part of the problem. Thats why i’m sure you are as disgusted as I am that any criminal can go to a gun show and buy any gun they’d like without so much as a background check. And I am sure you support the executive actions of mandatory background checks, gun registration, and restoring power to the ATF that help get to the root of this problem. as for your last paragraph. I don’t think MTV’s portrayal of rap stars has had any more effect on inner city kids as Jersey Shore or Nsync had on me. which is none. But seriously it isn’t a race thing near as much as it is subject to surroundings. Children who grow up in the poverty stricken inner city rarely get a decent education and then continue the cycle. we need to spend more money on inner city schools, but that’ll never happen.   the stats come from the Uniform Crime Reports, the Bureau of Justice, and the FBI Crime Reports
  
  I became aware of these numbers back in the 90s, while getting my undergraduate degree, and taking criminal law, and criminology. I was kind of blown away at the number, and how the MSM trys to paint a different story to us all.
  
  These numbers should be known. Paste them in Face Book posts, put them on other blogs, and I use them over and over in blaze threads. I have noticed some folks are starting to use them also
  America is ignorant to the truth, and needs to be educated.

  Regardless if you choose to believe or not, crime and welfare are connected at the hip.
  Welfare and crime are a cycle. Welfare has led to more on the system. It has led to a break down in black society. Welfare took away a need for a strong father, bread winner, who raises his children. 7 of 10 black babies are now born into single parent homes, and they are sending more men to prison than to college.
  
  Let me break this down barney style for you. Currently, we pay welfare folks not to work. They lay up in the hood, soaking up free money, food stamps, and federal housing. The women create babies from multiple fathers, and commit to none, and these fathers do not pay to raise the childe (dat my baby daddy)
  
  We then turn around, and complain about non legal immigrants coming here to work. How about this? We shut down the border, punish business that hire non legals, and systematically stop welfare. When the welfare crowd goes back to work, they will have less time for making illegitimate babies, selling drugs, watching Jerry and Oprah, and will give their kids insensitive for staying in school. There is a pride in earning what you have. Being on the system takes away from that pride, and leads to a society of helpless people with a victim mentality that stand there with outstretched hand.
  
  Our founding fathers never envisioned a government that gave food stamps to 47 million people. The whole system is a joke, and just keeps votes for democrats

  I did not state they are gov programs, but they contribute to the problems, just like the gov programs.

  Lack of education? do you realize that we (America) spend more money per child than any nation in the world does on education?
  
  How is it that we have free public education, everywhere in America, but education is the problems?
  
  The problem is that education in America is all about multiculturalism and indoctrination, and has very little to do with education.
  
  The federal gov got their hands in the mix, and is destroying our education.
  
  Our schools are clown camps, that lack discipline, moved away from teaching, and is more about coddling, giving a trophy to everyone, and promoting socialism. Our children are instructed to have a disdain for America, disrespect for the founding fathers, and we are containing to drop in world standing in math and science.

  This we also know this. Of all school shooters in the US, none has ever been an NRA member, competitive shooter in 4H, CMP, and junior NRA shooter. None has ever earned their hunter safety card, played competitive team sports such as football, baseball, soccer…..
  
  All of them have been avid video gamers, many have been “Goth”, and all are deeply into Rock music.
  
  No school shooter was ever a product of Christian Private School, or Christian Home School programs.
  
  We also know that mass murders are on the decline, and have been for ten years. We also know that mass murders only make up a tiny minute fraction of the nation murder numbers. Blacks killing blacks is the mountain, where the white weirdo shooters is the mole hill.
  
  School shooters are bi-products of the MTV, Video games, liberal upbringing without discipline, and Godless mentality.

  RangerSkippy, I am on your side 99.9% but in this case I have to differ a bit. Genetics probably do play a role in behavior quite a bit. Many mental illnesses are genetically obtained but I also, like you, believe environmental stimulus contribute also. We stereotype, it is human nature and most of the time (not all) the stereotypes fit. Unfortunately I think blacks are genetically predisposed to having character issues therefore they commit more crime than the other races. Latin males tend to be more emotionally connected in their lives hence the domestic violence of latin males per capita is off the charts. White produce the serial killers and I do believe that has been found by scientists to possibly be genetically transcribed as a par of the brain is affected that they have found consistently in these monsters. I bet Adam Lanza’s brain was checked, Jeffrey Dahmer’s and their was a report of some type on Ted Bundy, the Florida serial killer. He stated he was a product of looking a pornography all the time but we all know that should not be a contributing factor. Genotypical versus phenotypical behavior is still debated quite a bit throughout the science community but the outcomes produce some politically incorrect results so it is not commented on fruitfully nor factually. Look at “The Bell Curve” and the controversy it created. We are who we are because of the genetic traits passed down from our ancestors.

It would be great if Gutfeild and Bolling did the show. Shut the FIVE off when it started because of the fat socialist. Anyone can watch the Pravda networks for liberal bull. FOX is becoming a podium for the liberals to spew their crap without being challenged. Maybe as FOX starts loosing more viewers they will become a “real” fair network. Although by then it may be too late.

Beckel is an absolute moron, please fire him FOX. The problem with us conservatives is we try to be reasonable and hear both sides of every agruement, so that we can have a fair level headed opinion. The problem is that liberals like Beckel have an opinion are don’t care to see the other side of reason. That’s why he is a narrow minded moron. He’s not willing to apply a fair approach. You conservatives see our side and meet us over here. Hey better yet, “y’all can ride the bus, you just have to sit in the back” and shut up. Remember our Moron in Chief….   Social engineers like Beckel do not think that statistics are important, especially when feelings and intuition are the first tool out of their tool box. It is amazing how he partitions his mind to read polling data. He seems rational when looking at recent polls until a poll conflicts with his world view. The only exception for this might be the fact that he hit dead on that BO would win another term for President. Booze is not bad until it is bad for him personally. He has to be brought to that point by suffering a lot of negative life lessons. Gun control won’t be bad until he suffers a series of bad events, not just the occasional outlier that might be fatal. Beckel is like a Cubs fan who doggedly cheers for the home team no matter how bad they stink. In real engineering, a failed bridge means people die and there are consequences, in social engineering, the intention to build a beautiful bridge is all that counts. And, by the way, every failure just means we were not taxed enough.

Will someone tell this IDIOT that the NRA was Started to give the newly freed Slaves the right to own firearms to defend themselves because of course the freed slaves weren’t allowed to own them right after they where freed. That sounds like something “Thugs” would do huh? One other point that I keep seeing is the left claiming that the AR style rifle isn’t a hunting rifle, WHEN IN FACT it is the fasting growing Hunting rifle in the U.S. They are chambered in every caliber from .22 up to .50 Beowolf. So the facts are THEY ARE HUNTING RIFLES. They are used all the time all over the U.S. for Hunting. The Liberals can’t make an arguement that makes any sense, because it doesn’t have anything to do with FACT, it’s all about the Left finally getting the right situation to try and pass their long wanted BAN of firearms.

While the AR can be used for hunting, do not allow the prog commies to shape the argument and make it about hunting. The argument is about the weapons to be used to keep people free and that means killing govt goons if they get out of line. It is plainly written in the Constitution and wisely so.   Woah woah, ok, let’s not twist the facts. First off, I’m a huge supporter of the NRA and am a proud owner of several firearms so I am in no way attempting to demonize or slander the NRA or gun owners (that would be self-defeating…). BUT, the NRA was started because the union soldiers were AWFUL shots during the civil war and general George Wingate decided to start an organization dedicated to improving marksmanship and military preparedness with respect to fire arms. They may have then acted afterwards to help secure the rights of freed slaves to own guns but that was not their initial intent.

Let’s bring back firearm classes to schools, like when I was in school, and introduce Eddie-the-Eagle firearm safety program to all grade schools. Erase the curiosity factor that gets kids searching for the “Don’t Touch” items whenever mom and dad aren’t looking,

and STOP perpetrating the violence of FEAR, and promoting hoplophobia amongst our grade school children! It is child abuse! Yet another 3 kids in California suspended for pointing fingers during recess! It is MADNESS! Years ago, Gun Control Incorporated (name has since been changed to Brady Institute for Blah-blah-nonsense), actually produced AND introduced hoplophobic propaganda to MANY grade schools!

Parents beware! It’s YOUR children the schools are indoctrinating. If you give them a foot in the door, they’re coming in! So fight, fight, FIGHT!

The answer is that this is about disarming the law abiding. Good law abiding people and honorably discharged veterans are what this government fears. They told us this days after the first election. You can look it up. It was a report from DHS. Why do they fear the law abiding? Why do they fear the honorably discharged veteran? 500 a year murdered in Chicago and none by the law abiding or honorably discharged veterans.   What we need is retired military there showing how it is done correctly and maybe while they are there they could teach firearm safety training to the little peeps. Even a good conservative word or two might help and a prayer that former soldier may pass on. Remember there are no dam atheists in a foxhole when the bombs start dropping. I have heard many of them pray like crazy when they don’t know where the next one might it.

  I don’t see north against south, more center of US vs Big City IDIOTS the only good thing is we in the center of the US are mostly hunters, farm stock where carrying a rifle and a shotgun in the back window of your pickup is common, where I live, open carry is legal and all it takes for a concealed carry permit is ten bucks and a state drivers license, the Sheriff is required to give you a temp permit on receipt of the form and ten bucks, the state runs you through a quick background and is required to issue if you are in good standing within 30 days. A State where the carry of a switchblade or most any knife is now legal only shooting blades are forbidden. yet I feel so safe here, having lived in several major cities it is so much better here in a small town of 1300 souls where home schooling is now nearly as popular then public schools since the Fed took over.
