Bob Beckel and Greg Gutfeld Get Into Heated Exchange Over Gun Violence

During Thursday’s edition of “The Five,” co-hosts Bob Beckel and Greg Gutfeld go into a heated exchange over gun violence and the National Rifle Association, which Beckel called “thugs” and the “most evil lobby” in Washington.

Gutfeld criticized liberals, including Beckel, for being hypocritical and focusing on just one percent of gun crimes, like when a mass shooting happens, and ignoring the bloody violence that occurs in places like Chicago every day.

“This a great issue for the left because they appear to be tough on crime, when really they are only tough on guns,” Gutfeld said.

“Because the NRA, the thugs, don’t let them do it,” Beckel interrupted.

“It’s the liberals!” Gutfeld shot back. “Why is it that you guys on the left only focus on one percent of the crime when in Chicago you have, what, one Newtown every two weeks? You have 42 people dying. Why is that not a problem to you?”

Gutfeld went on to say that handguns are the weapon of choice for criminals, yet the left is talking about banning semi-automatic rifles.

“I’m for banning hand guns,” Beckel said, shocking all of his co-hosts.

“They demonize the NRA but they won’t talk about gangs,” Gutfeld said, before asking, “The NRA is as dangerous as the Latin Kings?”

“They are the most evil lobby in all of Washington,” Beckel shot back.

Something occurred to me

I remember a debate, where, Joe Biden was asked by an online questioner.

“Will you protect my baby”. As he held and displayed an AR.

MAYBE asking the most, PRO ABORTION, administration in history….. If they’d protect OUR babies…. was JUST a bit, off the mark. May be the wrong cute name for our firearms. NOW they want to abort OUR babies………..

Seemed funny, when I started typing. NOW, not so much.

NRA is not as powerful as they need to be to push this administration away from violating the Constitution(again).

Cuomo is apparently a fool, believing his new law will help anyone… Already backpeddling to exempt LEOs and exLEOs (who I support, but who shouldn’t have a double standard vs John Q Public… But don’t excuse the weak minded who voted it in.

And we face the same push from our CIC except I don’t see him demanding Rahm do more in Chicago.

His secret service detail should be limited to 7 rounds collectively if in new York state, same Bloomberg and Cuomo… They are not smarter or more important than the citizens…

Congrats, new york politicians, anyone who can afforded to will plan to leave, and your inept emotional reaction to tragedy has turned hundreds of law abiding citizens into criminals.

I am 100% against any kind of gun control. I have written letters to everyone from the president all the way down to my state legislature and voiced my opinion. I would suggest that everyone here do the same. I stumbled across a petition on the white house website asking the government to cease and desist any and all gun control efforts. Like this new cause, to outlaw “assault weapons” what ever they are.
There is an entire industry, of hard working, honest, gun enthusiasts building and buying these weapons. ALL of us, following the law, paying our taxes, obeying regulations and never ONCE carelessly pointing our weapons at another human being.

When is the left going to make a halfhearted attempt at policing the criminals?

Thick as thieves?
Professional courtesy ?
WHAT?

I’d like an explanation?
WHY are the criminals constantly being protected, supported, aided, coddled, while peaceful law abiding Americans are continuously being harassed, attacked, disparaged, and demoralized.

WHY?

There may not be any common ground left.

Lately, after hearing remarks by the left. Personally, I don’t care what they think or want anymore. So, as a point of suggestion to the left. Just maybe, you’re pushing to much to hard and showing us all who you are

“Patience” as an EXCUSE for Moral and Intellectual COWARDICE?

Washington, upon receiving the news of Lexington and Concord at Mt. Vernon, wrote to a friend: “The once-happy and peaceful plains of America are either to be drenched in blood or inhabited by slaves. Sad alternative, but can a virtuous man hesitate in his choice?”

Apparently Glenn believes Hesitation, in this case a CENTURY of it, IS Virtuous.

Theologically, and my M.Div. from Duke gives me street cred for such a critique, Glenn has placed himself in what a British Thinker called a “logical cleft stick”.

I’m going to say this once again.The real reason the gov, wants our AR15 and the semi-auto rifles and shotguns,is these weapons are a threat to them,if they get them now when they send the DHS,ATF and who ever they can brainwash to come and take the rest of our guns it will be a walk in the park.This is not about protecting our kids in gun free zones,I didn’t hear any new security measures that we can protect our kids right now.I only heard gun control.All the media have been calling gun owners,terrorist,kid killers,extremist,nazi’s,hitler,lunatics,loons,idiots.This is what communist,socialist and marxist do,they make law-abiding citizens the worst criminals of all.History teaches us this.It’s all about taking our guns,that’s it.

I use to watch the 5, when Glenn went off the air.
Bob Beckel is a perfect example of the left. He reminds us every time he speaks, that any intellectual conversation is wasted effort.

To FOX .. Bob Bechel makes me want to vomit. I no longer watch and am less and less likely to turn on FOX for anything.

Beckel is a complete moron with no sense, he is a big reason I stopped watching the five. If you want intelligent debate with someone on the left you could at least leave Williams on in Beckels spot at least Jaun almost makes sense. If you leave Beckel in his spot Fox management can bring Neal Boortz in for anyone of the other four, shoot you could have Beckel and Neal Boortz on alone and we can count the days till Beckels head explodes. I mean Bill O’Riley called Boortz a Viscous SOB (that’s classic TV), not shortened, with Beckels sayings on TV I give him 2 days (or his head will explode).

  (B) Of the 2,400,000 self-defense cases, more than 192,000 are by women defending themselves against sexual abuse.
  
  (C) Of the 2,400,000 times citizens use their guns to defend themselves every year, 92 percent merely brandish their gun or fire a warning shot to scare off their attackers. Less than 8 percent of the time, does a citizen kill or wound his or her attacker

  I didn’t realize the NRA was a union? I haven’t seen them protesting and interferring with the working of government. I haven’t seen them violent attacking Tea Party or other conservative groups. I haven’t seen them threatening or actually unemploying those who refused to join. I haven’t seen them forcing people or extorting funds from somebodies pay. I haven’t seen them getting preferiental treatment when it comes to government contracts. I don’t think the members get great healthcare, vacation, sickpay, and retirement benefits.

  I just think it is funny that they can’t decide who is the most evil lobby in Washington. Today Guns, tomorrow gas companies, the next day pro-lifers. Which is it? Who is the most “evil!” (as I twist my mustache). Well, we know it isn’t any of the guys who started the Occupy Wall Street movement because that was just a group of spontaneous kids looking for a chance.   The NRA does go a bit overboard from time to time, but it’s rare and always in defense of the Second Amendment. They have to take an extreme position to keep the further and further leftist position from creeping the centrist positions too far left. 20 years ago, I felt the NRA was a little over the top, two years ago I joined the NRA, last year I became a lifetime member.
  
  The Progressive attack on the Second Amendment will not go away and is getting louder and more shrill. Do not kid yourselves, the so called Assault Weapons Ban is the thin point of the wedge. Once they get it, they will use the stats that are being used here to try to prevent the Ban, against all other forms of firearms. It will be semi-automatic handguns next, then revolvers (which are a form of semi-automatic handgun, but are more entrenched than the magazine guns) then all the multi-capacity firearms until we are back to single shot weapons. The stats can cut both ways.
  
  Thus, we have to draw the line here with Assault weapons. The NRA isn’t fighting to get bazooka’s, howitzers, or machine guns made legal again, all of those weapons can be taken on a battlefield with semi-automatic rifles. They are fighting for the Second Amendment as best they can and these are dark, dark days. Join the NRA now, even if you are a fence sitter.

And these jerks like Beckel spend all their time defending the liberals who protect this murder on a regular basis..however they don’t want us to have the ability to defend ourselves from all the mad, insane, drug induced people who want to kill us for recognition.
  But yet, “they” make a big deal of having the “children” on TV to tell their story, while no one condemns the DEBT that’s mounting up to keep our children poor for the rest of their lives. Even little babies (who are allowed to live) owe thousands, something like every man, woman and child owe $50,000 on the National debt, thanks to illegal, illicit, ignorant people running our Country…..

  It was not 1/2 hour after before They started in on the events unfolding upto today…. and Nanny Blumberger states that today’s actions in regulations, state laws, or E.O.’s would not have stopped the events at Sandy – You think?!

  @KeatonC33: No the EO’s make it harder for law abiding citizens from obtaining guns. What do you think about the elimination of the doctor patient trust? Doctors are now required to report to the fed. anyone that they may deem to be or possibly be violent, would this person now not even go to the doctor knowing they will be reported to the authorities because of a thought or the doctor may have put them on a medication that requires reporting to the authorities? The doctors are also now required to ask everyone if they have guns, what type, and are they in a safe place. If the doctors doesn’t ask then they will be in violation of federal law and if they ask and the patient says “no or none of your business” then they are in violation of federal law when the paperwork is submitted to the feds and they find you have purchased guns. Also will the doctor be prosecuted if a patient does do something violent and the doctor said they were fine? I guess there will be alot of worms for fishing.

(I’m pretty sure many of you remember the video of four or five uniformed agents, (ATF, FBI, STATE POLICE, AND MORE…THROWING AN 84-YR-OLD LADY OVER HER STOVE, THEN TO THE FLOOR…EVEN THOUGH THEY ASKED HER IF SHE HAD FOOD & WATER, AND ANY WAY TO PROTECT HERSELF FROM THE “OUT OF CONTROL PICKUP TRUCKS FULL OF ARMED THUGS JUST MARAUDING THE STREETS…COMPLETE WITH LOADS OF GUNS, MANY FROM HOMES & STORES THEY’D RECENTLY LOOTED!!!!)
