‘HyperLapse’ Video Takes You Around the World in Less Than Two Minutes
Geoff Tompkinson for more than 30 years has been a world traveling photographer.
He recently compiled some of his work from 2012 into a video he calls a “HyperLapse.” It is a less than two minute trip “around the world.”
Here we pulled out a couple screenshots, but it really doesn’t do the footage justice, so be sure to watch it below.

Now watch the actual time-lapsed footage:
In case you’re wondering, hyperlapse isn’t just the title of Tompkinson’s video. It’s an actual method using ”a combination of stop-motion and time-lapse photography.”
Check out Tompkinson’s website here or his Facebook page here for more about his work.

Posted on January 17, 2013 at 9:34pmThat’s it? That’s “Around The World”?! Half the video is shot in Chicago! Tompkinson doesn’t get around much. Wish I had those two minutes back in my life. Come on TheBlaze…you’re better than this dribble news story.

Posted on January 18, 2013 at 10:37amWhoever is writing the headlines for articles in The Blaze needs to be replaced. Too many of the headlines are downright deceptive (like this one), or use terms like “Hilarious” or “Try Not To Laugh AT” for things that aren’t even funny, or tabloid terms such as “Shocking” for fairly mundane stuff. Sometimes I don’t know why I even keep coming here when there are so many other Conservative sites that actually cover real news.

Posted on January 17, 2013 at 1:53pmRespect should be given to whomever scored this, as well.
It’s relatively dull without the soundtrack.

Posted on January 17, 2013 at 1:49pmAlthough it was neat to watch, I would expect an “around the world” video to show more than 20 or fewer locations.
And since most of our land and world is uninhabited by people, I would expect to see a great deal more of the beauty of our wilderness areas.
I don’t believe this video got to more than three continents, so I disagree that it is “around the world.”

Posted on January 17, 2013 at 12:53pmAlthough the photography is great, the headline is a bit misleading. It started and ended with what appears to be a Rhine or Danube river cruise, showed scenes from St. Marks Square in Venice, but mostly showed Chicago scenes , interrupted by a brief shot of what I assumed was Moscow. Around the world, it was not.
