Mayor Bloomberg Makes His Point Abundantly Clear: ‘Bottom Line Is There’s Too Many Guns’

NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg seemed to tip his hand in a Thursday morning interview with CBS: In his mind, it’s not just about how people may use guns and stopping criminals from getting guns, it’s that there’s just too many guns in this country.

“The bottom line is there’s too many guns,” he told CBS “This Morning’s” Charlie Rose. In fact, Bloomberg earlier noted that it’s no longer about how one might use a gun on someone else, but that the problem extends to people using firearms to take their own life.

“Keep in mind, there are 33 people killed with handguns each day, and more people die from suicide with handguns than even get killed,” he said, raising his finger for emphasis.

Bloomberg also called the NRA’s recent ad “dumb PR” and said “you really have to be stupid to do that.” The ad called out officials who send their children to schools with armed guards but have opposed the NRA’s call to do so across the country.

Fellow CBS host Nora O’Donnell then threw him a softball as he piled on the organization: “Does the NRA represent gun owners or gun manufacturers?”

Not surprisingly, the mayor chose the latter. Watch it all below:

In CONTROL, Glenn Beck presents a passionate, fact-based case for guns that reveals why gun control isn’t really about controlling guns at all; it’s about controlling us. Find out more HERE.

The day after the announcement, the people submit.

Over twenty executive orders will be signed, the people submit.

The government will employ technology over the citizenry that no State in the past has dreamt, the people submit.

The servants of the State, the police and the military, will be permitted arms denied the people, the people submit.

Physicians are turned against their patients as messengers to the State, the people submit.

The 2nd most important amendment is violated and no one acts but rather complains, acquiesces and submits.

To rebel and resist as a civilian citizenry against the government are not the aspirations of the insane; rather each is a Constitutional Right promoted and practiced by the Founders.

But if you submit, you do not deserve to be enslaved, you need to be enslaved.

YOUNGBLOOD1, I think they where written that way for a reason. They are all important, but you can not have any freedoms with out away to back that up and Firearms is that very force to back that up. 2nd amendment gives the public teeth vs oppression. As well as home defense.

Did Bloomie include the guns his 4 body guards carry? This man only wants the police and the thugs & Gangs have.He is against local schools having a armed guard to protect the little peoples kids. He approves the private schools having armed bodyguards in the class rooms. These kids will be the future politicvians and CEO’S of the fortune 500 companies. If some nut wipes out kids at the local schools it won’t be a big deal since these are the future factory workers and there are to many of them already.

Bottom line, people allow themselves to be ruled by fear.

Bottom line, people that govern by fear win in the short term but lose in the long (Ask Hitler, Hussein, and Khadafi).

Bottom line, guns are tools and should never be feared when in the hands of law abiding citizens. Restricting them from those same citizens makes us less safe, not more.

Bottom line, do not surrender your freedoms, we have lost too many already.

We will let the system work until it becomes very obvious that it does not work, either by another Waco or by an attempt at confiscation or forced registration. Wars are too terrible to go into angry. They should be waged coldly and with forethought and preferably with God on our side. Be patient, communists have no patience. ONE Question: Who will arrest all law enforcement officers in New York for violating New York’s new gun control? There is no provision to exempt Law Enforcement in the State of New York. I would think all Law Enforcement Agencies are now disarming their employees until each department can abide by the new State Law.

I am sick of hearing the left run off at the mouth that we as gun holders do not need an AR. They feel we can protect ourselves and hunt with other types of guns so it is perfectly legal to outlaw AR’s. The left continues to state that nothing in the constitution says we have the right to these types of guns or magazine sizes so by omission they can outlaw them. Let me say I do not own an AR but believe it is my right to own one if I so choose.
I guess if that is there basis for the constitutionality of gun bans then I assume they are in favor of outlawing any and all violent video games and movies. The same material can and often is available in books so there is no need to have it in video and movies correct? I would guess the same holds for the 1st amendment as does with the 2nd with regard to the constitutionality of this. I see nowhere in the constitution the right to violent movies or videos and since the same material can be printed in books it would not be obstructing the freedom of speech or am I wrong. The left had better be careful when they attempt to destroy the 2nd amendment because without it there will be no 1st.

Using the governments logic, the 7 round rule should apply to the military and all agents of the government who use guns. That would be fair and fairness is, after all, the word our government uses more than any other. If the government is fair, there is little chance of insurrection — a MAD sort of deterrent.

They always claim more power than they legitimately have. “THe country wants change”.

This is a lie. The power comes from the bottom up, not the top down. So to deceive us they claim they have a mandate from “the country”.

Here’s the change we WANT: Less power grabbing megalomaniacs in our leadership, more power to the grassroots individuals. More power, more guns, to the people, to DEFEND ourselves from the power grabbing whoremongering warmongers in our leadership.

We are a SELF-governing nation, we are ADULTS here, not babies that have to be coddled or nurtured by the likes of Obama and Bloomberg.

And furthermore, we want the FACTS of the shootings, not the EMOTIONS of those who BENEFIT POLITICALLY by EXPLOITING massacres.

It doesn’t matter whether the majority want to take away all of our gun rights. The second amendment was created to stop just the kind of demagoguery that Bloomberg is doing. Yes the majority may be on his side, but the majority was also on the side of slave holders who banded guns from slaves. Today the working man and woman are the slaves. They know it. That’s just idiotic, frankly. By definition, there will always be 1 percent of any object, person, or group.

We WANT more wealth, not less. The mindless idiots who think wealth is transferred rather than generated don’t understand simple economic laws; they are Keynesian collectivists who don’t have a clue.

Society is a natural order regulated by natural economic laws. Central planners think they can improve upon the natural order but that is only deception. They can only eliminate the ability of individuals to choose for themselves their own economic goods. Since central planning cannot possibly improve the situation for the entire group, they misallocate economic power from the many for the benefit of the few. You can’t get more energy from a closed system. This is why communism must continually expand its reach or die.

In an unhampered market however, individuals exchange goods with one another benefitting both sides of every transaction, helping each other to grow economically. The exchange of money for goods and services ensure that both parties to a transaction benefit, if they did not then the exchange wouldn’t take place.

In government central planning, very often one side of the exchange will lose ground while the other side reaps the “benefits” of plundering. Central planning is plundering. Unhampered market is far more prosperous and not plunderous.
