Sen. Ted Cruz Predicts Gun Control Fight Will Give Republicans the Senate in 2014

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) on Thursday predicted President Barack Obama’s push for new gun control legislation will not only fail, but pave the way for Republicans to recapture the majority in the Senate in 2014.
“I think the consequence, I think he’s going to pay a serious political price,” Cruz said in a radio interview with conservative host Laura Ingraham. “And I think the price that’s going to be paid on this is going to manifest in Senate races in 2014.”
Cruz, who has been at the forefront of the anti-gun control fight, said the proposals coming from Obama and congressional Democrats are unconstitutional and “don’t work.” He said the president has “drunk the Kool-Aid” on gun control and is “high on his own power.”
“He is pushing on every front on guns, and I think it’s really sad to see the president of the United States exploiting the murder of children and using it to push his own extreme anti-gun agenda,” Cruz said.
The Tea Party-supported senator said it’s clear Obama will have a difficult time getting his proposals through Congress and will “decree it by executive order” instead — something that will cause a serious backlash at the polls.
“I think 2014 is going to be a very, very strong year for conservatives,” Cruz said. “I think we have a real possibility of picking up a majority in the Senate, and I think that will be driven in significant part by the fact that the next two years I think the president is going to continue to do what he’s doing now, which is overreaching and really believing that the nation has become far left. And that is not this country.”

And the whole class had either already joined NRA or signed up before leaving that day. I guess this is a right that just shall not be infringed. It’s amazing. Just the fact that Obama would even try this is surprisingly offensive move has turned the tide against him. Oh well, pride goes before the fall. He didin’t think it would sting him.

Now, many red states are planning to end their corporate tax. California has been screaming about Texas for a while now. There was a time when the blue states kept a boot on the neck of the red states keeping businesses out. But, currently your own actions are financially killing you guys right now.

The slippery slope comes into play when you say that a 90 yr old grandpa needs to do a back ground check on his grandson to pass down a heirloom. Trust me, those in rural areas WILL NOT sell their guns to someone they don’t know, nor trust, so this so-called back ground check issue is moot.
I couldn’t go to Tennessee for example (being from IL) and buy a gun from a local- they wouldn’t sell me one, let alone, and lets be real here, a black gangster…. Besides, I go through a back ground check every single time i buy a gun. So whats the issue???

Once again you have the way things are supposed to work correct but “how” they are now working wrong. Obamascare went to the Senate as a 2300 page Bill. It came out of the Senate a 2700 page Bill. Did it go back to the House for passage? Nope. It was “deemed” to still be the same Bill and “passed” on to the White House.
All the EO’s Obama is writing that spend money are not passed by the House either.
Obama’s Job Act was written by the White House. It had money allocated for spending in it. All Bills regarding spending money are supposed to be written (start) in the House. This is not happening so you can’t blame the House for Bills that they neither write or pass.

Teddy (Chappaquiddick Killer) Kennedy had died and Scott Brown won the special election. Nancy In The Sky With Diamonds held the bill in the House since Brown had vowed to be the death knell vote for it in the Senate. It was in the House where it was simply deemed past. Had it returned to the Senate as it should it would not have passed. Then Justice Roberts pulled a strange one saying that the bill was a tax and okayed it. Strange since a tax bill should have been started in the House. But hey, the Supreme Court at one time said that slavery was okay too. What can we expect from them?

Just look at the recent “emergency” Sandy relief bill that the house passed. Knowing full well that the bill was loaded with pork 49 Republicans voted yea. The house passed a trimmed down sandy relief bill that excluded this “pork” already passed, NO pork! But the fact that one of the largest storms in a generation can hit America and do some much damage and then we actually have elected officials voting against helping the sandy victims! thats truly despicable!

The impetous for passing this bill was to provide immediate support to those that lost everything due to Sandy, but there are provision after provision stuffed into it that have nothing to due with directly helping those that were affected. Under the guise of providing direct emergency aid for those that are in desparate need of assistance the progressives packed it with totally unneeded spending for their special interest groups. Monies that will have to be borrowed, as it is completely unfunded. This is why so many Republicans opposed its passage, not because they’re heartless and unfeeling. So in light of this valid opposition to adding to our exploding national debt for you to call them despicable shows how you progressives use nothing but emotion in order to bolster your argument. To hell with the facts, to hell with the truth, to hell with the reality of adding more and more debt and the implications of it, it’s more important to keep up appearances. You and those like you are cowards because for you its more important to hold onto power through hollow empty promises and backroom deals to special interests that will have long lasting consequences for generation after generation. Well we did manage to keep the house but even lost some there. Gonna take a lot more then this to convince me. First and foremost there is nobody, that I know of, working of ending the massive voter fraud that goes on and barry and his minions will still have all their ground covered.

To a degree, yes. The concept being is that in the end you need to be able to remain blameless.
The Founders exhausted all possibilities prior to violence. That is the point.
