Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) on Thursday predicted President Barack Obama’s push for new gun control legislation will not only fail, but pave the way for Republicans to recapture the majority in the Senate in 2014.
“I think the consequence, I think he’s going to pay a serious political price,” Cruz said in a radio interview with conservative host Laura Ingraham. “And I think the price that’s going to be paid on this is going to manifest in Senate races in 2014.”
Cruz, who has been at the forefront of the anti-gun control fight, said the proposals coming from Obama and congressional Democrats are unconstitutional and “don’t work.” He said the president has “drunk the Kool-Aid” on gun control and is “high on his own power.”
“He is pushing on every front on guns, and I think it’s really sad to see the president of the United States exploiting the murder of children and using it to push his own extreme anti-gun agenda,” Cruz said.
The Tea Party-supported senator said it’s clear Obama will have a difficult time getting his proposals through Congress and will “decree it by executive order” instead — something that will cause a serious backlash at the polls.
“I think 2014 is going to be a very, very strong year for conservatives,” Cruz said. “I think we have a real possibility of picking up a majority in the Senate, and I think that will be driven in significant part by the fact that the next two years I think the president is going to continue to do what he’s doing now, which is overreaching and really believing that the nation has become far left. And that is not this country.”

I think that anti-gun advocates and liberals in general experience the “flight” response based on fear of death and anger manifests itself. I think pro-gun advocates experience the “fight” response based on the same fear but the “fight” response requires additional thinking. This additional thought helps move us out of the fear state and into more rational thinking. Thus, facts are important because we have to make the stay and fight decision. We tend to manifest anger because we don’t understand why the anti-gun advocates would place themselves in such a defenceless state.

Now, what happens if you let them ban modern sporting rifles? Nothing. Gun crime continues. Then they’ll come back when someone picks up two handguns and shoots up a school and want to ban “just handguns”. Then someone will use a shotgun, and it will be “just shotguns” then it someone will go Boondocks Saints with 6 revolvers and it will be “just revolvers”.
Gun control advocates will never stop as long as there’s gun violence. Gun violence will never 100% stop, so the gun grabbers will never run out of “valid reasons involving public safety” to keep taking away more and more guns of all types and then start going further.
I’m not out to take away anyone’s rights of any kind, but PERHAPS we should have a discussion about what children are allowed to consume in terms of music. Personally, I love rap music, but I’m old enough to know that when a guy says “Get a gun and shoot those people to get a rep” that what he’s suggesting isn’t a good idea.

Its a proven fact Chicago’s “dependent” class and the “darkside” of Peoria put him in office. The downstaters that belong to the union (caterpillar,etc) was not completely for BHO either.. Chicago runs the state but this attack on our second amendment really alienated far more than the demorats realize. Durbin is quiet lately but don’t be fooled he KNOWS political suicide for the party is in the making.. BHO wears his feelings on his sleeve and is an emotional animal moreso than the average joe..He is wily and a schemer but shallow and truly steps in it without realizing it..He doesnt think about the consequences of his actions. He’s high on himself as Cruz mentioned..so much so that he’s punch drunk on self love and can’t see what awaits him..

That is besides the point though – the OP [original poster] specifically said no one was trying to take our guns away. There is a new, or renewed, ban on these so called “assault weapons” being suggested by the President. That is taking guns away. So the OP is wrong.

“Assault weapon” is a misnomer used by the bias media to draw people’s attention by emotion, resulting in knee jerk reactions lacking any reasonable objective analysis. Any object used against a person to cause harm can become an assault weapon. Did you mean a “semi-automatic rifle”? Which BTW, is not the same as an “assault rifle” which may by the switch of a button shoot full-automatic, single shot, or a burst of three rounds.

I believe that gun advocates manifest the “warrior spirit” to some degree (either low to very high). Some may not even know that they are warriors. Warriors are driven to protect the weak. We do not disdain the weak. It is not that warriors have no fear. We do. We just channel it in the direction of saving lives as our duty.
Anti-gun advocates are not weak. They are to some degree (either low to very high) are cowards. The more anger displayed shows a higher degree of cowardness. That is why they are willing to have abortions. They know deep inside that they can’t protect that life. That is why we disdain them.
Finally, this may be all crap in the hat. But, it makes sense to me.

The Second Amendment is a bar against a tyrannical federal government. Supreme Court ruling, Federalist Papers and debate records make this fact, not opinion. All other uses, hunting, target shooting, defense, etc.; they all flow from this fundamental God given right. That is the truth and apparently you and your ilk cannot handle it. Why? Because the “assault weapon,” named that by gun control nuts in the 1980′s when they were looking for an effective marketing scheme to malign them; you can’t handle the fact that US citizens can own them and normal capacity (sometimes called high capacity by gun control nuts again using marketing techniques in an effort to shift the debate) magazines. Get used to it. Congress isn’t going to pass another AWB for a number of reasons. Get used to that. And you’re a loser. Get used to that. The loathing you feel when you look in the mirror can only be solved by your death. Remember, suicide is an option.
