Thieves Steal Guns After Breaking Into Another Home Listed on NY Newspaper’s ‘Gun Map’

Critics who have continuously alleged that the Journal News’ interactive map that includes gun owners’ personal information will lead to crime may begin uttering some “I told you sos” (albiet, a bit prematurely). Two pistols and related permits were stolen from a home in New City, N.Y. The owner of the firearms was listed on the newspaper’s controversial map — leading some to wonder if the criminal act and the publication are connected.
Newsday reports that thieves entered the home on Wednesday evening. Once inside, they “ransacked the house” and broke into two safes, stealing a third. The guns were apparently in this latter unit that was taken out of the home by the criminals.
Following the incident, associated family members refused to comment about what unfolded. And for those looking for definite ties to the Journal News’ gun map, police are saying that there is no direct evidence, thus far, that the burglary was related to the publication. In fact, at the moment, authorities believe that the home was not targeted — something police will continue to investigate.
“The burglary is still under investigation and there are no facts to support this correlation at this time,” said Clarkstown Sgt. Joanne Fratianni. “If the investigation develops further information, it will be released accordingly.”
The Clarkstown case may or may not have a connection to the map, however this is the second incident involving a gun owner on the map who has had his or her home terrorized by burglars. Previously, a White Plains, N.Y., home was targeted, with thieves ultimately failing to open a gun safe and retrieve weapons. That investigation is ongoing as well.
Authorities in the White Plains case have said that it is premature to definitively connect the gun map to the crime, but that questions surrounding its involvement are a part of the case.

Posted on January 17, 2013 at 7:48pmI can’t wait for the names & addresses of all the crazy people up there. One of his executive orders is for different government agencys to share information. If I understood correctely, Obama wants to make sure the nuts don’t get a gun. If the newspaper prints their addresses and names the local residents will take care of them.

How can this be posted 4 days BEFORE the shooting?????
It is called predictive programming. YES, someone in our gummit IS causing the mass shootings to alter our constitution and disarm the nation. Global governance cannot proceed until this ONE thing happens. IT will be successful only because the majority of so called conservative refuse to learn mind control programming techniques.
We are programmed to believe it does not exist while it is being used daily via digital technology across the boob toob……..read the news and weep for the kids and family members…..our government has no soul

Posted on January 17, 2013 at 5:22pmHa! That shooter in the Getty Images photo is gonna end up tearing his left thumb up with some “slide bite”.
Regarding the robberies… do you rob a home when there is the potential for the homeowner to shoot you, or do you use the map to plot homes that won’t be able to offer resistance? Then again, I suppose you could “stake out” the gun owners’ homes, and wait for them to leave.
To paraphrase our Great Emperor: The paper acted foolishly.

Posted on January 17, 2013 at 4:36pmObama is just testing the waters man. When he calls the media and tells them to print the owner’s names of guns then he can have his thugs start stealing the guns and then he will know if he can confiscate the guns that way. Otherwise it will be a bunch of lies to the public and a lot of children being killed. Has anyone notice Americans are being killed overseas. Isn’t Obama’s friends killing our people? Have you noticed that Obama has crisis after crisis. I remember Rahm Emanuel when he first got to the Whitehouse. He made the comment to not ever let a crisis go to waste. That is why liberal democrats have used small children all week to change gun laws so America can have the highest murder rate like Washington, DC and Chicago, Illinois, both of which Obama dwells.

Posted on January 17, 2013 at 4:32pmInstead of smaller safes, gun owners should get the big liberty safes, ours is 900 pounds and not easy to remove or break into. But nonetheless it is time for the gun owners of NY to get together and file a huge class action lawsuit against the newspaper. Make those SOBs pay for what they have done.

Posted on January 17, 2013 at 4:18pmBy the way Blaze bad photo. That is not the way you hold a semi-auto pistol unless you want your thumb cut to pieces. Both thumbs should be to the left with the right thumb on top of the other pointing down range. The way the firearm is being held when the slide recoils back he may get a nasty bloody surprise. I’ve seen it happen and it wasn’t pretty.
