Rand Paul to Chris Christie: Cool it With the Temper Tantrums & Grandstanding, Alright?

Sen. Ran Paul Publicly Reprimands Gov. Chris Christie For Constantly Making a Scene

If it seems like Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and Gov. Chris Christie (R-N.J.) have been in the news an awful lot recently, it’s because they have been — the New Jersey governor for his harsh criticism of House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and the National Rifle Association and the Kentucky senator for his vow to “nullify” the president’s new gun-control measures.

And if you’ve been waiting for a news story that involves both GOP heavyweights, well, you’re in luck: Sen. Paul on Friday publicly reprimanded Gov. Christie for “not standing up for Second Amendment rights in the ongoing gun control debate,” as CNN puts it.

“You have some Republicans backing down like Christie backing down and criticizing the NRA, and I think that doesn’t do us any good,” Sen. Paul told conservative talk radio host Laura Ingraham. “So I think Republicans do need to stand more firmly on this issue.”

Asked why he thinks Gov. Christie chose to take such a hard stance against the NRA and its “reprehensible” anti-Obama ad, Sen. Paul said he thinks the governor is merely posturing.

“I think he may be solidifying his support with Democrats in New Jersey and maybe liberal Republicans,” the Kentucky senator said.

“If he wishes to do something nationally, I think criticizing the Second Amendment movement and the over-the-top, ‘give me my money’ stuff, ‘I want all sixty billion now or I’ll throw a tantrum’ — I don’t think that’s going to play well in the Republican primary,” he added.

Sen. Paul also took issue with the New Jersey governor’s habit of attacking conservatives, referring specifically to the governor’s blistering anti-John Boehner press conference. Paul explained that House Republicans were hesitant to pass the Hurricane Sandy bill because of what was in it, not what it was intended for.

“I think people need to think through what their positions on these things are,” he said.

Final Thought: Although Gov. Christie’s anti-Boehner press conference is considered by many to be his official “I’m not interested in running in 2016” party, the governor hasn’t definitively ruled out higher office. Furthermore, there have been rumors that Sen. Paul is seriously considering a presidential run.

Could this eventually turn into a Christie/Paul face off in the GOP presidential primary? Boy, that would be entertaining.

I am as Republican as one can get yet if Christie is the only Republican left standing in 2016, I will keep the box blank on my ballot for Prez. He repeatedly does not support the cause and undermines what we need to accomplish.

Obama got to Christie evidently. I mean if your people need relief funds and you bite the hand that feeds then you most likely won’t get your money.I do not like Christie, never have actually, because anyone who runs their mouth as much as he does is all bark and no bite. The people that get things done voice their opinion and introduce legislation. They don’t stand at podiums and scream, shout and stomp your feet. Just my opinion.

I hope Rove, as seen on O’Reilly, knows that Christie will never be the next guy on our side. No way 3 in a row or crappy RINO’s. Also, not watching anything Monday…unless BHO is arrested for treason as he takes his “oath” of orifice.

I’m really starting to like Rand Paul. He has a pair, thats for sure. As for Christie, I USED to like him, not now. He’s drinking the obama koolaid and walking the line. And Pauls right, Christie needs to stop being so nasty and mean spirited and stop yelling at everyone that doesn’t do things HIS way. He’s no different than the thin skinned president we have for ANOTHER four years.

Christie is a 2-yr-old in a fat suit. His temper tantrums go along with his voracious food intake … he’s a “man” with little or no self-control. And he is NOT on our side. Call him a rino because that’s what he is … in more ways than one.

I agree with Rand, Christie does not know how to keep his mouth shut! I always thought he is just a little to liberal for me. I hope Rand runs! He’s got my vote, I read his budget, it was great, and it would have us out of this mess in no time.

I would not vote for either.. at one time I thought Christie was the man… now I see him in a whole different perspective.. also Rand Paul isthe son of Ron Paul.. Ron is to far to the right.. and I would be worried his son would be the same. He represents himself pretty well but so did Obama and look what America got! God help us all!

Chris Christy is the FATTEST BIGGEST RINO in the GOP herd. Any GOP member who is NOT a SHEEPLE and actually researched this A-hole’s record (anti gun,anti-fracking, anti-oil, believes in global warming and REFUSED to fight against ObamaCare with other governors at the Supreme Court, etc), would know Christy is a RINO.

RINO Carl Rove who supports RINO Bush and RINO McCain and literally shoved RINO Romney down our throats told Bill Oreielly TODAY that GOP members would NOT reject Chris Christy if he ran in 2016. OMG – Rove is out of his mind if he thinks I am falling AGAIN for this Lucy/Charles Brown RINO football candidate. If they run Jeb Bush or Chris Chrixty in 2016 I am voting Libertarian. I gave over $4000 between 2008 and 2012 to the GOP. When the GOP (Reince Priebus fundraiser) REPEATEDLY called me for money AFTER Romney lost – I told them EXACTLY what I though and told them to STOP calling. It took 5-6 times of their calling before they got the message.

I will continue to donate money ONLY to GOP candidates I want to like Ted Cruz ($300) Alan West much more money over the years but the GOP elites got rid of him by redistricting him, Tim Scott now a Senator but then a congressman and Senator Mike Lee and Rand Paul Ted Cruz should run for president – NOT RINO Rubio who is for federal gun registration. Ted Cruz, Mike Lee and Rand Paul are the ONLY GOP elected reps who are NOT RINOs and who support the Constitution.

Christie is a RINO extraordinaire. He is partly to blame for Romney’s loss in his kissing a$$ of barry during the Sandy crisis. Rand Paul is a true conservative and a good, decent man. Chris Christie just needs to go on ahead and switch to the demoncrap party and stop bringing filth and disgust to the GOP. Man, I hate this guy…
