5-Year-Old Suspended, Labeled a ‘Terrorist Threat’ for Threatening to Shoot Friend With Toy Bubble Gun

A 5-year-old girl from Pennsylvania has been suspended after telling a friend she was going to shoot her with a pink toy gun that spits out bubbles, the Associated Press reports.

The kindergartener was waiting for the bus at the time, and did not have the fake gun with her.

PennLive.com has all the unbelievable details:

Elementary school officials learned of the conversation and questioned the girls the next day, Fickler said. He said the girl did not have a parent present during the 30 minutes of questioning.

The result, he said, was that the student was labeled a “terrorist threat” and suspended for 10 days, Ficker said. The school also required her to be evaluated by a psychologist, [attorney Robin Ficker] said.

“This little girl is the least terroristic person in Pennsylvania,” he said. [Emphasis added]

The family’s attorney helped reduce the punishment from ten days to two, but the school is keeping the incident on the girl’s record. It has apparently been modified, however, to say she intended to harm another student.

Ficker told The Daily Item that school employees have become “hysterical” since the tragedy at Sandy Hook, and while we need to address genuine issues, there’s certainly a line to be drawn.

“You can’t make light of what happened to this girl either,” Ficker argued. “The incident goes on her permanent school record. She has been branded a troubled person. But she was suspended for her words. She had no gun. She had a bubble-making machine.”

The girl’s mother added: “All I know is what my daughter has told me and she said she was told she could go to jail, which is a very traumatic thing for a 5-year-old to live with.”

School officials said on Friday they weren’t at liberty to discuss disciplinary actions.

But one clever ebay user utilized the story in attempting to sell his son’s bubble gun, which he warned “may lead to the suspension of your kindergarten aged child.”

The question and answer section reads:

Q: Does the winning bidder have to submit to a background check? Does this item come with the standard 10 oz bottle of bubble ammo or am i limited to the New York 7oz bottles?
A: No background check required. This item will include 5 fluid oz of “bubble ammo” to pass any New York State regulations/laws.

Surely there are some sane educators out there. If so perhaps one of them could explain what it’s like to work with colleagues as mentally challenged as those who terrorized this 5 year old girl.

I bet the person or persons who did this to this child probably are one who can’t say the term “illegal alien” or “islamic terrorist” but have NO problem on picking on a 5 year old girl

This is no laughing matter, people!

These guns are what is referred to as a “gateway gun”.

Who knows what twisted behavior this child would be tempted to pull, if left alone to her own devices not just now, but in a few years?!

Why, she could pull this out and shoot bubbles at her classmates in the hall, or god forbid, outside at recess. Dozens could be shot.

This child has shown a proclivity for shooting her classmates. Under the new Obama Administration Executive Orders, luckily, she will be able to be surveilled and observed as a potential mass murderer, placed under assessment and with years of drug therapy, perhaps, undo damage that has already taken place.

We also need to ban these so-called “bubble guns” immediately.

I find it more than ironic that our radical Democrats, who send out union bullies, let OWS crowds plug up our cities, send ACORN bullhorn gangs into bankers’ front yards, and allow Obama to use un-presidential , negative partisan rhetoric in the media, find so much surprise and horror at these isolated, though horrific , gun incidents. On one hand the radical Democrats ignite the flames and on the other they protest the resulting fires. The Chicago radicals are just pushing their Center For American Progress ( another Big Lie ) agenda with which they arrived in the White House . They never like to waste a crisis. Wonder what the NEXT one will be in Obama MediaLand ?

What’s the statute of limitations on spitballs ? Do schools allow drinking straws ? Drinking straws can be used to shoot projectiles… jus sayin… I will never again feel safe around anyone carrying a drinking straw, In fact considering the possibilities of threats they pose I want drinking straws outlawed immediately. Citizens should only be allowed to have 7 beans in their mouths at a time. It’s time to take action, stand up for “citizens renouncing all projectiles” otherwise known as CRAP .

She doesn’t murder or oppress people for a living s shes not a terrorist i think the real ones needs to be labeled and those groups are military and law enforcement that are not oathkeepers.

I cannot even express the anger I feel at this story, this injustice.

I would go to this school and let each person involved know that they had one week to not only reconsider their position, but that each of them would be required to make a public and face to face apology to my little girl. Her record would be cleansed of the incident, and then….and only then would I be satisfied.
If a week went by without the above being done, then I would seek my satisfaction in dedicating my life to removing them from any office, or position, where they had even a particle of power, including teaching.

Why do people keep sending their kids to these school? I’m guessing this is a public school. All this is getting ridiculous. I hope this mother can take her child out and put her in a better school or better yet- home school her.
