Sen. Chuck Schumer Says the NRA Is an Extreme ‘Fringe Group’

Senator Charles Chuck Schumer: NRA is a Very Extreme Fringe Group That Doesnt Represent Average Gun Owners

Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y. , chairman of the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies, speaks during a press conference on Capitol Hill in Washington, Monday, Jan. 14, 2013. (Photo: AP)

Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) sat down with HuffPost Live Friday, where he made a noteworthy statement about the rapidly-growing National Rifle Association.

Responding to interviewer Alicia Menendez’s question about whether Schumer’s colleagues are “willing to admit” that the NRA is a “fringe group,” the senator responded: “Well they sure are a fringe group, but whether enough of my colleagues are ready to admit that, I’m not sure.”

He continued: “They are a very extreme group.  They don’t even represent average gun holders.”

The two proceeded to discuss certain gun control measures and Schumer’s intention to “push hard” to get them passed.

The Huffington Post summarizes:

The New York Democrat [said] that when he worked on the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act, which went into effect in 1994, the NRA “had such power that they filled it up with loopholes.” The Brady Law required background checks for firearm purchasers.

“Now 40 percent of the guns that are sold in America have no check, even felons can get them,” Schumer said. “If we can plug that up, that would be great.”

Schumer told HuffPost Live he would like to see the number of bullets in a clip limited and assault weapons banned as well, but that he thinks universal background checks will probably be the easiest measure to pass through the House and the one that would have the most impact.

“We’re going to push hard to get that one done and even through the House,” he said.

The NRA says its membership has grown by roughly 250,000 people in just the past month. On Saturday, thousands of Second Amendment supporters rallied across the country in support of their rights.

Here is video of Schumer’s remarks, via HuffPost Live:

In CONTROL, Glenn Beck presents a passionate, fact-based case for guns that reveals why gun control isn’t really about controlling guns at all; it’s about controlling us. Find out more HERE.

I don’t think the esteemed Mr. Schumer, a pro-Israeli anti-terrorism hawk with legendary disdain for terrorists and those opposing Zion, was probably referring to the NRA leadership as the “fringe” component, because the majority of our National Rifle Association members are peaceful, law abiding citizens who trust the Government, support Law Enforcement, and oppose Gun Show loopholes that allow criminals to purchase kill zone creating firepower out of car trunks. Just slaying.

None of these measures will stop criminals!

But it WILL be easier for criminals to kill law-abiding citizens!!!

Our culture is failing because families are failing, but let us keep focusing on inanimate objects and as many new laws as humanly possible. We will law our way to safety, or something… Schumer may not be an idiot, but these new “gun control laws” are an idiotic waste of time at best.

Executive Order 10450 sec. 8 (a)(4) Advocacy of use of force or violence to overthrow the government of the United States, or of the alteration of the form of government of the United States by unconstitutional means.

      5 USC § 7311 – Loyalty and striking

xmilitary: While I couldn’t agree more with the sentiment in your post, the fact of the matter is that Germany believe it or not is even more under the thumb of Schumer’s ilk than we are just like in the times that led to the 3rd Reich. Remember that this maniacal ilk had its origins in Poland before migrating in masses to Germany in the late 19th century.

Germany was their love.. Before the Balfour declaration the Jewish Media was entirely in the camp of Germany and their hatred was toward Russia and the Czar. That all changed with the promise of Zion and the propaganda campaign against the Germans began.. This is what led to the “Stab in the Back” which the Fuhrer often brought up in order to galvanize the masses. The average German understood what had happened and who the culprit was.

So as bad as our predicament is in America it’s not as bad as in Germany today.. They don’t even have a 1st or 2nd amendment and they are immediately jailed for speaking of history which their Masters do not approve of.

Anyway as you point out the World did turn its back on Schumer’s Klan because it realized what a diabolical element it was dealing with; however, today people are so brainwashed by their Media that they worship this filth and do not even understand who they are or about their plans for America.

WHere are our lawyers – please start showing how his actions are criminal.
      5 U.S.C. 3331, 5 U.S.C. 7311

It is nice to complain but we as Americans need to start using the law to punish people like Chuckles and send a clear message to congress. We also, need to start recalls. The liberal leftist do it all the time. Take the gloves off people. Start calling, emailing, faxing all your congressional representatives require a response. We elect our Congressional Representatives to represent US on the Federal Level and we demand that they adhere to our wishes or we will recall them.

Also, Congress should have: Three – Two Week Sessions per year. OUR representatives to Congress should return to his or her State when Congress is not in Session.

schumer is a lawyer, lawyers have taken over our country, they hold the majority of seats in congress and the senate, the president is a lawyer, the supreme court is composed of 100% of lawyers.
When one becomes a lawyer, they become a member of the judicial branch of our government and they take an OATH. When does that oath take precedence over any other oath the lawyer takes, say for instance, when they take an oath of office as a politician? Can a person take more than one oath and fully adhere to both IF they come into conflict?
ALL LAWYERS come under the auspices of the JUDICIAL BRANCH OF OUR GOVERNMENT!
Is this not a clear and equivocal breach of the separation of powers, when the MEMBERS of one branch of government FULLY infiltrate the other two branches ???
Did they NOT take an oath to support and defend the constitution??? Every single lawyer holding an office outside of the judicial branch is in VIOLATION of the constitution!! OR does their oath as a lawyer take precedence over their oath of office as a politician??
Whatever the case, THIS IS A CLEAR USURPATION OF POWER!!! NO ONE CAN BE AN OFFICER OF TWO BRANCHES OF GOVERNMENT AND STILL PROFESS TO BE IN COMPLIANCE WITH THEIR OATH OF OFFICE TO THE UNITED STATES!!!!!

I just spent 2 hours typing my response to this terd of politician only to accidentally have it all erased after making a bing search on my Facebook window about what happened in the Supreme Court on June 29, 2010 in regards to the 2nd Amendment. Anyway, it must have been for a, unforeseen higher purpose. Anyway I’ll shorten what I typed earlier. Upchuck Schumer and his oath breaking liberal and RINOs friends on capitol hill are oblivious to the fact that the membership of the NRA has grown to become larger than the amount of personnel in the entire military (active and reserve) combined. Not to mention a large majority of the military personnel who haven’t submitted to the progressive propaganda that the Government throws at them on a daily basis are NRA members. Listen to Billy Bob Clinton Schumer, when he said last night, “Do not patronize the passionate supporters of your opponents by looking down your nose at [us],” We know the recent gun control laws in New York, was a test-case for President Barack Obama’s grass-roots movements. What makes you treasonous Liberal ******** on capitol him and in the supreme court think we will enforce an unconstitutional law no mater how hard you and your uniformed 51% social media voters try to reinterpret the Constitution and its amendments meaning? I for one will never forget what happened on June 29, 2010 in the Supreme Court. I shake with fear what will happen when Obama appoints or of his cronies justices to the suprem

They have no use for their very oath of office. They are nothing more than a Praetorian Guard, in the worst sense of the term.

That said, Schumer, like those in his party and Obama, knows little else other than to deride those with whom he disagrees.

I have noticed an undeniable pattern amongst these progressive champaigne and caviar socialists, and that is: LIBERTY IS NOT THE GOAL!

Only their agenda, based upon their collectivist ideals of some sort of perverse “equality,” is the goal for these guys. He’s nothing more than a little tyrant, much the same as Bloomberg and Cuomo are little tyrants. Every time I see Bloomberg on tv I literally shudder, knowing full well that this little tyrant will someday soon be running for the highest office in the land. That guy scares me as much as Obama; especially, here since when after Hurricane Sandy (a week later) and people were actually starving and were going through dumpsters in search of food–the red cross and other organizations were sending safe food for the people to eat until Bloomberg literally haulted the good deeds because he wanted government officials to check the food to make sure it didn’t have too high of sodium, sugar, fat, and other caloric values. Is that not the sign of an elitist who feels that he knows better than everyone else, even when it comes to you starving and him deciding what your diet should consist of. That’s a true story, but truth is always much stranger than is fiction.
Schumer is cut from that same exact cloth. This is why I stand for States’ Rights, but I still know full well that they hate the idea of 50 sovereign self-governing states, so they feel the need to make their perversities implemented into federal law.

If the electrical grid went down and NY went dark, these same idiots that voted for this fake Jew would climb over top of each other to get out. “Escape From New York” for real. And, they would expect the surrounding countryside to welcome them with open arms. After all, they are “New Yorkers”, the greatest human beings on the face of the earth. They will be shot down by the tens of thousands. There is nothing more despicable than a Jew that votes Dem because their parents did the same thing. A mindless Jew is a cretin. The only real Jewish folks (notice I don’t call them Jews) are in Israel. These American phoneys are just that, opportunists. All for the money and hatred of Christians. The fate of the Feinstein Gun Ban – and the rest of President Obama’s radical Big Government agenda – could be decided as soon as Tuesday.

That’s when the fight over Harry Reid’s scheme to SHUT UP all opposition by weakening the U.S. Senate filibuster is scheduled to take place.

Should Harry Reid and his allies succeed, President Obama will have virtually free reign to run roughshod over the United States Senate, setting the stage for even more radical assaults on our liberties.

That’s why it’s absolutely CRITICAL you sign your “Stop the Power Grab” Fax Bomb TODAY, before it’s too late.

You and I have already seen the damage President Obama is willing to inflict – even going ignoring our Second Amendment rights through Executive Orders.

Can you imagine President Obama and his statist pals could inflict with Senate serving as nothing more than a rubber stamp for his radical agenda?

As I’ve said before, America doesn’t need a king.

The U.S. Senate was intended to be a place where legislation was slowed down, where debate took place and where amendments were offered.

But without your help, 214 years of history could go down the toilet.

You see, current Senate rules require 67 votes – a two-thirds majority – to shut down debate and change the rules.

But for weeks now, Harry Reid has been working to ram through his “nuclear option” scheme with just 51 votes.

Inside vote counts show he was scrambling to reach that threshold.

armed guards would not be a constitutional violation, unless they conduct illegal searches. Armed school administration, janitorial staff, and or teachers would be a better plan, particularly if their being armed was random so they couldn’t be targeted in advance. Jus t having an armed person on the premises make it safer, they could easily do this without hassling the students like they do at some inner city schools.

Producing a relentless wave of skewed surveys and op-eds in favor of “gun control” and “gun safety” (the latest misleading euphemism) reveals the urgency of the effort to disarm America and render it helpless. Conclusion: Law-abiding Gun Owners Are the Target, Not al-Qaeda Terrorists It is now obvious what is going on in the wake of Sandy Hook – the establishment is finally pulling out the last remaining stops in its long envisioned disarmament of the American people in accord with its ultimate plan to usher in a one-world government and financial system.

A well-armed and educated populace prevents the global elite from realizing this objective. In order to realize this required disarmament, supporters and defenders of not only the Second Amendment but the Constitution at large must be branded as renegade terrorists who threaten police.

The cynical propaganda effort to pose law enforcement against a growing liberty movement is key to the elite’s effort to impose an authoritarian police state on America, a plan that will not be successful if the American people are allowed to possess firearms more potent than 22 caliber bolt-action rifles.

THIS is the REAL reason they want “gun control”

If you are for gun control, then you are not against guns, because the guns will be needed to disarm people. So it’s not that you are anti-gun. You’ll need the police’s guns to take away other people’s guns. So you’re very Pro-Gun, you just believe that only the Government (which is, of course, so reliable, honest, moral and virtuous…) should be allowed to have guns. There is no such thing as gun control. There is only centralizing gun ownership in the hands of a

That is right any organization that stands in defense of any foundational principle of the Constitution must be a fringe element. Schummer and his progressive budies have to be delt with before they completely destroy this country.

Slimy scoundrel, Sen. Chuck “Anti-2nd Amendment” Schumer (D-NY) has a CCW permit and if anyone has seen the troll he calls his “wife” (Iris Weinshall) they would know why he has armed himself.

We can hope and pray that Sucky Chucky becomes a victim of violent crime. I see no justice sweeter than some career criminal recently released into society by the Liberal dominated in-justice system mugging Sen. Schumer, relieving him of his weapon and then sticking it up his rectum and firing blowing the senators brains out from the bottom up.

We upstate NYers would LOVE TO KICK HIM AND MANY OTHERS OUT!!! However, we’re few and far between in our rural 80% of the state. The “city libs” of New York City, Albany, Syracuse, Rochester, Buffalo, etc. keep electing the idiots! We try hard to defeat them, but like most states with larges liberal/socialist cities, it’s impossible.

The sad things is that our downstate legislators constantly sell we farmers, etc. down the road by voting on for the cities’ needs.

Soon, farms will not exist–you think food is expensive now, just wait. . .

To Hillbilly, the only way you will change things is if you kick the frigging unions out of your state. The unions all over the country are criminal and corrupt. Fraud, election fraud especially, is a way of life to them. The Mid west states are trying to get rid of the unions that have controlled our states for years. The unions use inner cities as their pipeline for running states.
