San Antonio Mayor Predicts: Texas Is Going ‘Purple’ Soon

San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro (D) on Sunday predicted that red state juggernaut Texas will soon go “purple” and then finally blue.

“In a couple of presidential cycles, you’ll be on election night, you’ll be announcing we’re calling the 38 electoral votes of Texas for the Democratic nominee for president,” Castro told CBS News’ Bob Schieffer on “Face the Nation.”

Castro continued,”It’s changing. It’s going to become a purple state and then a blue state, because of the demographics, because of the population growth of folks from outside of Texas, and because, unfortunately, the Republican Party has gone so far to the right that they’re losing the business community. They’re losing the middle.”

Castro delivered the keynote address at the Democratic National Convention in September and appeared on the show Sunday with his twin brother, newly-elected Rep. Joaquin Castro (D-Texas).

Joaquin Castro agreed, though added that it’s “not going to happen on its own.”

“The demographics are changing, but it’s going to take a lot of work from Democrats to lay the infrastructure for change. So we’re very busy working on that now,” he said.

@HenryPascalCrusoe: One can sympathize with someone else’s struggle and poverty and STILL demand they be law abiding. 15 to 20 million illegal Hispanics, many of whom are Mexican are squatting and thieving in the United States by using up services like education, healthcare, welfare and they are CHEATS and there need be NO sympathy for that! Mexico is full of adults, right? They have international sovereignty as a nation, right? Then they should Handle their own business affairs and their own country and make it a place where people can live and grow and prosper. They have a responsibility as a sovereign nation of adults to do this. To correct their own people. To stand up to crime and criminals and make their OWN nation livable. Which they have not done. They are a nation of irresponsible people. I cannot just walk into Mexico as an American and squat on their land. I will be jailed immediately. Even a US Marine who wanted to register his antique firearm was put in jail! But what about the Mexicans/Hispanics coming illegally into the USA? They get welfare checks, food stamps, education, emergency room on MY taxpayer dime! Unreal! I have NO compassion for people breaking the law and BURDENING a whole country of people to give them stuff! This should not be happening. Mexicans need to make Mexico livable. Take some damn responsibility for Reforming your own corrupt country! WE are all stocked up here in the USA!

  P.S. HENRY: I was raised to be law abiding and to RESPECT the law. Which Hispanics/Mexicans are NOT doing. They have many excuses of which I am not interested in even one excuse. If I go to Mexico they sure as hell will make me obey their laws. They need to obey MY laws. In My land. There is an International Boundary between Mexico and the United States for a reason and why is that? Why is there a “border/boundary” between our two nations? Because International Borders and Boundaries need to be respected and upheld. Have you ever heard the saying, “Fences Make Good Neighbors?” Well they do. So do borders and boundaries. They are supposed to function as fences. Do we really need to tell Mexico over and over, “this is your side of the fence. This is ours. Stay on your side. We will stay on our side.” How many times do we need to tell Mexico this? Mexico is TRESPASSING against our land, our sovereignty and our laws. Period. 15 to 20 million people are lawbreakers. Criminals. They need to be deported. Go back and wait in Mexico and fill out your paper work, pay your immigration fees, get in the back of the line, and BE LAWFUL! Without the Rule of Law everything descends into chaos and that is what we have now. AT this point the USA cannot “afford” the welfare CHEATS it has! No one can afford this! WE should NOT have to pay for lawbreakers, cheats and liars! These are indecent people!

I have yet to meet a single Mexican (Latino, Hispanic….) immigrant, legal or otherwise, who will vote for anyone but a democrat. I have frequently asked what the democrats have actually done for them, and they have no answer. I ask why they vote democrat, and they say because they are supposed to. I ask why they are supposed to, and they say because they all do. They apparently see this as a reconquista, as if the US took their land, and if only they could take it back all of them would be prosperous. “Mexicans” have become the Palestinians of the US, with no interest in anything but conquest and entitlements. The LaRaza racists and gangsters have defined what a Mexican is, just like the jihadists have defined what a Muslim is. In both cases, the “moderates” among them never say a word, and vote in mass for democrats, so I question their existence. Do they want a good life for their families? Yes, but only for their families, and at any expense to the country. Our politicians play along for their benefit only, at any expense to the country. We are experiencing multicultural failure on a grand scale.

I would agree with you that this situation is getting quite stressful, but must you spit at your fellow man in the process. I can tell you that I don’t believe that the Mexicans should cross our border, yet I think we can at the very least sympathize with their struggles. Heck, we think we have a bad government! I would appreciate your thoughts and I hope I haven’t ticked you off.

Castro, name ring a bell? Tell ya, Obama lost the election in my area of Tx 2314 to 69, and yes we have our share of hispanic here. The 69 that voted for him, were all from CA, go figure, they just cant learn a lesson, But what do you expect, its how they were taught, and as far as the arab picture goes, I am pretty sure that if a teacher started that stuff, the tar and feathers are ready.

Chances are he is right. November 2012 was the tipping point – we knew that, talked about how America was at the crossroad and what a critical time it was and that we had to choose the right path or watch our country slip away. If we couldn’t take our country back this election how is it possible to think it will be different in the future. Not only did we not win the whitehouse or the Senate we actually lost more in the house – and next election will be different? Yeah and I have a brooklyn bridge to sell you – solid gold!

With people moving to Texas in droves you can expect them to ramp up their assault on that state. Wherever we gather to form a hardworking, self reliant state, the other follows. I guess the trick is to move to a state that is changing its policies from Dem to Conservative, because if it is red then all the blue can do is to mess with it.

It isn’t the government that should have been taking care of things, it should have been us. Our forefathers would be ashamed of how “we the people” let things get so out of hand. I have been reading some very depressing stories today. From what I’ve been reading – people over 65 that are not healthy have about 1 year before the death panels begin. The Communists and Progressives are so confident because of the Health Care mandate and because they have a conspiracy so immense…They know This is a Coup.
