San Antonio Mayor Predicts: Texas Is Going ‘Purple’ Soon

San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro (D) on Sunday predicted that red state juggernaut Texas will soon go “purple” and then finally blue.

“In a couple of presidential cycles, you’ll be on election night, you’ll be announcing we’re calling the 38 electoral votes of Texas for the Democratic nominee for president,” Castro told CBS News’ Bob Schieffer on “Face the Nation.”

Castro continued,”It’s changing. It’s going to become a purple state and then a blue state, because of the demographics, because of the population growth of folks from outside of Texas, and because, unfortunately, the Republican Party has gone so far to the right that they’re losing the business community. They’re losing the middle.”

Castro delivered the keynote address at the Democratic National Convention in September and appeared on the show Sunday with his twin brother, newly-elected Rep. Joaquin Castro (D-Texas).

Joaquin Castro agreed, though added that it’s “not going to happen on its own.”

“The demographics are changing, but it’s going to take a lot of work from Democrats to lay the infrastructure for change. So we’re very busy working on that now,” he said.

Don’t have much use for the Castro boys, but they are right. All of south Texas, San Antonio, Houston, Dallas/Fort Worth are Dem territory. One poster here mentioned that the Dallas area is still conservative. In 2008 every Repub candidate on the ballot in Dallas lost. Sorry, lived there for 35 years and got the heck out because I saw the writing on the wall. Didn’t want my kids settling in what will soon be the new California. There are other low tax alternatives beyond Texas.

Texans like to blow tough about standing up to the trend, but the feds will not let them. They will not enforce the laws and will not tolerate anyone who does. Think Jan Brewer. The Dems control the border areas and the cities, and the numbers will soon be on their side. Been there, lived it, left it.

With wide open borders and an out of control birth rate at the expense of US taxpayers, yes that could turn out to be a reality. Now is the time for more Anglos to move to Texas.

I saw much mention here of how the Republicans (read RINO) have to pander to the illegals here to garner their votes(and their CHEAP LABOR) so we can win the next election. No mention is made of the massive voter fraud perpetrated by the dems throughout the country. When 900K people cast votes for Obama, and there are no votes for ANY of his opponents, then something is wrong. There were numerous accounts of voters reporting that their votes were cast for Obama, when in actuality they were trying to vote for Romney and others.

When you have total ballots cast totaling 135% of the registered voters in an area, there is also something wrong. Everyone will tell you that in a presidential year, you are doing good to have 50% of registered voters actually cast ballots. Having 135% total ballots cast and counted, means something is wrong here as well. And there were numerous reports of excessive ballots in numerous regions. How do you get that many ballots cast when you don’t even have that many registered voters? How do 900K+ people vote all for just one candidate. You be the judge.

Numerous absentee ballots were reported coming from an address in SA that was a cemetery.

In my humble opinion, there was voter fraud, pure and simple. All the pandering to illegals is just playing into the dems hands. Because they buy votes rather than earning them. But what do I know, I am just a conservative who wants his country and state back.

and he is right . I’ve seen it happen, in Miami. Conservatism is dead, and “high-yaller” is the new white.
Actually, lateeeenosss, (as our prez barry soetero likes to pronounce it) willl push blacks out, blacks will always be scraped off the bottom of the shoe, because that’s the way libs want it.

Im from the san antonio area and this guy is the biggest crook. So many back door dealings, illeagal contracts wasteful spending,using his twin brother to pose as him for fund raisers, democrats are becoming the Mob boss of politics, it’s all about power for them and how they can abuse and manipulate the middle class

Well, it might someday. It was Democrat at one time. Remember JFK and LBJ. JFK picked LBJ so he, Kennedy, could take Texas.
So, if that happens then all the Mexicans who come here to work, or so they say, will live in the same **** conditions they left, eventually when the money runs out.
The Left will stop all drilling in Texas, impose a State Income Tax and will eventually end up looking like California. Blue, Brown and Broke. Even Lib states are beginning to see the light.
But the Left is hell bent on proving if only the “right kind of people, i.e.themselves” who are smarter than everyone else on the planet can take a bad idea, socialism, communism, et al, then they can make it work. It will work alright for those at the Top. Everyone else will be just a bunch of ignorant slaves.
Like Ben Franklin said, “we give you a Republic, if you can keep it.”
It won’t be that we the people lost it, we gave it away for scraps. These bas–trds can keep on smiling, but rest assured in the end, they will be the only ones smiling.

La Reconquista wil start in Texas and California and spread quickly to Arizona and New Mexico. The Latino population growing faster than any other group through birth and illegal immigration and has consistently voted Democrat. Here about a third of our Latino population work day labor jobs that are off the books. They can then receive welfare and other government support. Our local Walmart might as well be in Cancun. The Treaty of Guadeloupe was signed in 1848. The US gave Mexico $15M and paid $3.25M in claims made against the Mexican Government for injuries, deaths and damages done in the US during Mexican raids prior to the War. The Mexican Army lost the war (after fighting quite honorably) and the cost was limited to land. The war was over 164 years ago. It is time to let it go.

The entire nation is going blue and there is nothing we can do about it .. well .. one thing. The reason it is going blue is because the takers outnumber the makers. I make a good living in the computer industry and the amount that people who play the system are making is about 3/4 or my salary. Why would anyone work if you could do whatever your heart desires funded by someone else. The only reason I haven’t is because I don’t take handouts. Call it upbringing. I will make it on my own. Not many people think like this or are already very upset that people who do nothing make more than they do.

It’s over folks. Obama knows it and is pushing for a civil war. He needs chaos to obtain total control.
Pick your side and let’s see what happens.

He’s probably right. The refugees from progressive states like those that come to the US from third world countries bring their politics with them. They then continue to vote for the same type of politician whose policies bankrupted their home state. We always blame the politicians for the problems in California and other such states but the real problem is the voters who keep voting them in. Texas needs to revamp their election laws to require 5 years residence before someone can vote in local elections.

TEDDIE888, I totally agree with you. I live in Ohio and have personally watched people from Blue states move into this state, take jobs and change how this state votes. It has been a slow march, but I think they’ve got this state now. As the old timers have passed away, this influx of blue people has taken over. I very much believe this can happen to any state now.

Yeah, sure. More Democrat BS. In the last 20 years, Charlotte, N.C. and Raleigh, N.C. have had a huge influx of Northerners and Midwesterners. Charlotte (where I live) is slightly blue. Raleigh is bluer than Charlotte. Even with that, North Carolina just went completely red in this last election. Democrats just love talking to themselves with no supporting facts.

1. Large illegal alien population who breed native children who want FREE STUFF and vote democrat

2 Obama dumped Hundreds of THOUSANDS of New Orleans Hurricane Katrina democrats onto Houston who immediately started to collect welfare/housing there AND NEVER WENT BACK. They vote democrat and breed democrats.

. Texas ENCOURAGED California and Washington State and other liberal state businesses to move to Texas. They ARE LIBERALS and so are their employees. They ruined their state and moved to Texas and immediately started voting DEMOCRAT to ruin Texas.

5. Texas was not spared the Bush and now Obama dumping of Somali Muslims by the THOUSANDS. They are seeded into communities all over the USA but especially in the CHRISTIAN BIBLE BELT areas to break them up. This is a SPECIAL PROGRAM just for foreign Muslims. , Texas, Florida Maine – everywhere . Muslim men have an average of 8 children to a Christian mans’2 children.
