President Barack Obama was officially sworn in for a second term in a private White House ceremony just before noon on Sunday.

Chief Justice John Roberts administered the oath of office in the White House Blue Room, with first lady Michelle Obama holding her family’s bible and daughters Malia and Sasha Obama looking on. After Obama took the oath, the first lady said “congratulations” and he answered, “thank you sweetie.” He then hugged his daughters and said, “I did it.”

All eyes were watching Roberts after he famously flubbed the oath while reciting it from memory four years ago. Roberts went to the White House to properly swear Obama in the next day. Clearly not taking chances this time around, Roberts read the oath off a card.

The Constitution says presidents begin their new terms at noon on Jan. 20. Because inaugurations have not historically been held on Sundays — the day Jan. 20 fell this year — organizers are holding all the inaugural ceremonies at the Capitol on Monday, while having Obama formally take the oath on the proper day.

Vice President Joe Biden was sworn in earlier Sunday morning at his official residence at the Naval Observatory in Washington. Associate Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor swore Biden in, the fourth female and first Hispanic justice to administer an oath of office.

Biden’s swearing-in was held earlier Sunday to accommodate Sotomayor’s schedule to travel to New York to promote her new book. She will return to Washington to ceremonially swear Biden in again Monday.

    America doesn’t care…All they look at is Mrs. Mooses new hair do. Or what Bravo show she is going to show up on judging cooked vegetables… Hell 51 % of America thinks Barry is a genius and put the Oceans back into place during the last four years…Well except for that one day….See it really comes back to my forever point.. We as a nation took the path of self gratification the day after 9/11…Use money no matter what the ramifications are to make the plain truth that our nation and way of life is under attack. And so far it has cost us over 16 trillion of government debt..and another 4 trillion in funny money. Not only that 2008 the people wanted more..2012..The continued Government to the people self gratification wasn’t enough …No don’t let go ..So again they voted for Obama to give them more…And there isn’t a man in Washington with the backbone to say no. Old Ben Franklin was right the nation would go right to ruins the day the people realized they could have the government “Give them money”. Each passing day we are further and further from our basic beginnings. A nation founded on freedom , personal responsibility, and the 10 basic laws of God written into a men’s hearts and minds. So all were left with is a narcissist who is a “New age progressive communist” who believes in big government, human and business rules regulations and mandates. all which have created a web that will soon choke the freedom and life out of what was The united states.     Whatever problems befall this nation sit squarely on your shoulders and your shoulders alone. You wanted the presidency and you got it. The people decided so now its time to really roll up your sleeves and tackle the national problems that matter for We the People. National debt comes to mind! National devision that you yourself created. Stop the gun grab! Make people understand that owning guns actually saves more lives and without them more lives will be lost. I quote! “If we can even save one life, then we’ve got an obligation to try”. If you truly want to save lives Mr. President, then turn away from your ill guided but well intentioned (not) agenda on saving lives because it will do anything but save lives.

    Let free enterprise reign in this nation again but letting people choose their own healthcare. Admit Obamacare is an abomination and yank it.

    But of course this is dreaming of an American leader that you are not. You will not do the right things…no, you’ll continue on this misguided course at the peril of all Americans. You will attempt to see it through til the bitter end which will be bitter indeed. You know no other way because you believe your humanistic ways to trump all reason and logic….based on history no less the truth of these matters bare witness to your path of national destruction.

      We probably had 10-20 years before the Great Crash, but obama obviously has put a brick on the accelerator, so we now probably have less than 4 years.

      The question is “Are you now where you want to be when it happens?”. Mobility will be limited when the Dollar crashes. The velocity of money will drop for a while, which means you can’t sell your house and move for a while. And when you can sell it, all new rules will apply, so selling it may be a lot like giving it away.

      It also means obama’s plans for managing the disasters he creates will be accepted, and it’ll be time to redistribute the wealth.
