On Monday evening, Glenn Beck marked the inauguration of President Obama, by hosting an array of guests who would likely never find themselves on the receiving end of an actual invitation to the presidential inaugural ball. Complete with a satirical “red carpet,” entertainment and banquet tables adorned with center pieces and guests clad in black ties, Beck’s “misfits ball” offered viewers a taste of what a presidential inauguration might look like if it met a celebrity-roast.
Sen. Rick Santorum, Utah Mayor Mia Love, Dana Loesch, historian David Barton and others participated in the event to discuss politics and and the prospect of moving forward as conservatives and libertarians in 2013. Topics ran the gamut, from Obamacare to entitlements, religion to business and of course, the future of the Republican Party, which Santorum does not believe will be changing anytime soon.
Below are video segments from the affair. The first features Beck and his guests as they focus on politics:
Below Beck and his guests discuss religion and whether the conservative right has lost its way. Notable religious leaders including Pastor John Hagee joined David Barton and others in the conversation:
In the segment below, Beck hosted guests he considers to be great business minds of today. Right to work, labor unions and other issues impacting businesses today were among the topics discussed:
Of course, everything is simply talk if no one actually takes initiative, which is why Beck also hosted a series of grassroots activists currently advocating for smaller government, including Freedom Works and Misfits Politics:

Jan. 22, 2013 at 9:41amThe only relevant information from that fanatic freak is from Santorum who believes the GOP will not change anytime soon. Radicals like him cost the GOP the Whitehouse twice now. Either change and be part of the discussion to better this nation or remain obstructionists and live in a past that is long since dead.

Jan. 22, 2013 at 8:42amGlenn, you said that Mitt Romney was gonna win. I followed you & listened to you for the past 4 years & you told all of us followers Romney was winning!! I believed you when you told me that Obama was a communist & a marxist…but….Obama won the presidency again!! This time by an even larger margin than Obama’s first election. I’ve spent all my hard earned money on your tv programs & your seed storage programs. Did you lie to me???

For the low, low price of $129.99 I got myself a new pair from Glenn I feel like a super hero when I wear them and my rebel flag shirt and walk through the trailer park.People stop and ask “is that a brick of gold in your pocket or are you just glad to see me” all the time.I’ll be wearing them to Glenn’s next “restoring something or another get together” It’s so cool to hear Glenn has cornered the denim market!

Glenn is a man, just a man. I didn’t listen to him about Romney because Glenn was clearly infatuated with him. Romney was no conservative, compared to Obama Romney may look conservative but that is as far as it goes. You have got to listen to your own conscience and do your own homework and research. We conservatives set ourselves apart from the pablum fed libs that take whatever they are told by the MSM for the truth. Don’t listen to Glenn for all the answers, he does not have them. Find them in the Bible and in the fruits of good men.
Before anyone misreads this, this does not mean Glenn is a bad person.

So I guess you never heard Glenn ever say “Question With Boldness”? I also assume you have never listened to Glenn ever say “Don’t take my word for it, do your homework”?
Don’t blame Glenn for the millions of useless Americans who didn’t vote because Romney wasn’t this or that enough that would have tipped the election in his favor.
I guess if Glenn ever told you to jump off a bridge…..

Jan. 22, 2013 at 11:10amIf any of these people become too big, where they start becoming a serious threat to the o’bobo machine, they will eventually become co-opted. Look at how Romney just laid down and died; look at Christie now praising the o’factor; look at Bainer (not sure on the spelling); look at the big church mega preachers like Olsteen and Graham who chose “to take Obama at his word”; look at the big time CEO’s who have back peddled on their critical views of this administration, such as the Whole Foods CEO; look at the big time generals like Patreous, Powell, and McChrystal, who all tow the party line, even though they’ve been run through the ringer.
Big name people everywhere of every creed and color are being co-opted by this dill-doe. There is certainly more afoot here than just our dear leader’s charm and charisma. There is no modern day George Washington that is going to save us; he too would be co-opted. Somehow, one way or another, we’re going to have to look to ourselves (and of course our Lord almighty) to get through these times.

Jan. 21, 2013 at 8:09pmI’d like to say, I truly respect the libertarian movement in this country. I think you have more good ideas than bad, and yes you have both. But your over all ideology is sound. Your biggest problem is “Marketing” I like Ron Paul but he didn’t sell it, Rand may be a little better, but with a country so f’d up as it is……spouting pure logic will not work…….baby steps. Soccer moms aren’t going to buy into legal heroin. Libertarians are probably the best hope for the country if they can market there product, small gov, very appealing, personal freedoms very appealing, personal responsibility not so much, got to ease them into that one. We’ve got several gens counting on government, we need to ween them off like a heroin addict taking methadone. These are obscure concepts to liberals and progressives. Progressives have been patient, taken over the media, the schools and now the have the gov. It ain’t going to be easy and will probably end with a fight. But those are the facts.

Jan. 21, 2013 at 9:11pmWith all due respect, it sounds like your saying that libertarians need to compromise or tone down their message in order to gain more members and votes. That’s exactly what republicans and democrats have been doing for decades, and look where it’s gotten us. They don’t stand for anything as a party, they just want the votes and power. Libertarians have had a solid message since their party started- Freedom, individualism, Constitution. If that message can’t win over a majority of votes, well, then America deserves what it gets.
If you think baby steps need to be taken to lure people into the libertarian movement, then I would argue that small steps should be taken to reform the republican party instead. The republicans have more votes, and more attention. Lets not try to change or corrupt a libertarian party that has solid principles.

Jan. 21, 2013 at 9:36pmWith all due respect, it you can’t sell the product, you ain’t got no product. Capitalism 101. You are not selling Libertarianism. You do not have to sell out in order to get your message, but you do have to connect with people who do not agree at the moment and hopefully convince them otherwise. So get off your high horse and figure out how to make people understand what your saying. Cause what your doing is not working. IMHO Sir

Your broad brushstroke perception of libertarianism is naive. There are many different types of “libertarians” and they are all 1,000 times better than what the republican party pushing us towards. The title of “libertarian” is outdated anyways – the only people who say it are wanna-be’s like Glenn Beck. There is no “libertarians”, only shades of small government and Constitutionalism……
The political spectrum is not R verses D…..It is complete government control on one side, and no government control on the extreme other side….Read the book Glenn Beck used to talk about before he got full of himself – “The 5,000 Year Leap”

Jan. 22, 2013 at 10:38amStelex, you are right. Campaigning on legalizing heroin is not going to work. The core issues need to be won first and then slowly and smartly move to those issues. I do not believe in drug use, but, society better governs social issues. Just like alcohol prohibition caused more problems than it fixed, a smart drug policy would also most likely be better than what we have today. Illegal drugs fosters crime. Mpst likely, those who do not use illegally would not use publicly.
