Obama Slightly Flubs Inaugural Oath

While repeating the oath of office during Monday’s public swearing-in ceremony, President Barack Obama had trouble spitting out some of the words.
During the part where he was supposed to say “will faithfully execute the office of president of the United States,” Obama cut off the last portion, choked on his words a little, and then shook his head:
This story has been updated to correct an earlier version that said Chief Justice John Roberts did not say “the” while saying “president of the United States” during his administration of the oath. It remains unclear, then, what exactly threw the president off while he was reciting the words.

The actual swearing in took place yesterday, and Obama placed his had on a Bible “from his wife’s family” for that ceremony. Just thinking out loud here, but I am wondering if anyone actually looked inside the cover of that Bible. Why would he choose to use the significant and known Bibles of Lincoln and King for the “show”, and use one that no one had ever seen for the real deal. I try to not look at everything as a conspiracy……….just sayin’.

Posted on January 21, 2013 at 2:16pmYeah, as much as I dislike Obama…I really don’t feel the need to nitpick this one…it’s a big event, in front of lots of people, nerves are, I’m sure, in fully effect. Leaving out “the” from that part isn’t a big deal to me. Now if he left out upholding the constitution(not that he does so in practice) or something, that might be something…but not a big deal on this one.

This purposeful omission including the phrase of “under God” in His Royal Hindass’ inaugural invocation will now and forever be the soundbite heard around the world and understood for generations to come… Welcome to “The United State of America.”
