Tom Arnold Clarifies ‘Automatic Weapon’ Comments He Made on ‘The View’ in Exclusive Blaze Interview: ‘No One Is Ever Going to Take Away People’s Guns’ Unless…

On the issue of guns, actor Tom Arnold  is fed up with both the far-left and far-right, believe it or not.

In a wide-ranging exclusive interview with TheBlaze, Arnold explained that the issue of gun violence is far more complex than many are willing to admit. He said simply “taking the guns” isn’t going to fix the problem. At the same time, the veteran actor stands in support of President Barack Obama’s proposal for a ban on semi-automatic rifles and universal background checks. Many gun owners are adamantly against banning semi-automatic rifles.

“I think there’s a middle ground, in my opinion,” he told TheBlaze. “I think it represents both sides badly if people are screaming and yelling — some people saying, ‘let’s take away all guns’ and the other side saying ‘this is tyranny.’”

“No one is ever going to take away people’s guns in America. Everyone has the right to defend themselves, obviously,” he continued. “In my mind, the only way the government would take people’s guns is if they keep threatening the government on the basis of ‘tyranny.’ It becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. You say enough times, ‘the government is going to take my guns, I’ll stand up to them, I’ll shoot them,’ and the government will take away your f**king guns. That’s just the way it goes if you act crazy like that.

Arnold also addressed recent comments he made on ABC’s “The View,” during which he railed against people who own “automatic weapons.” As TheBlaze pointed out in a previous report, fully automatic weapons in the U.S. have been essentially banned since the 1980s. He said he actually does know what an “automatic weapon” is and realized his error after reading TheBlaze’s story.

“I actually meant semi-automatic,” Arnold explained. “But I stand by what I said.”

“I have fired semi-automatic weapons, I have fired automatic weapons, I’ve been to many gun ranges, obviously I’ve done it in movies,” he said. “But in my opinion, having these things in public is unacceptable. And I don’t care what people say about me for saying that.”

Arnold said he realizes that many people will disagree with his opinion on semi-automatic rifles, but “that’s OK.”

However, the average “sportsman, hunter or gun owner” is “horrified” when they see a so-called “assault rifle,” according to Arnold.

“They don’t want any part of it. They don’t want their kids around that. They don’t want their kids to be friends with people that have these,” he said matter-of-factly.

He also jabbed at the National Rifle Association, saying the group’s job is to “raise fear amongst rural people that all the guns are going to be taken away by the bad government so they can sell more guns.”

They do an excellent job of selling guns, but they aren’t looking out for the best interests of the children in these homes and at schools. And that’s just a fact,” Arnold said. He also believes there should be more of an emphasis on gun safety in America.

Meanwhile, some on the far-left are just as uncompromising, he added. “Super liberal people are saying, ‘don’t eat meat and zero guns.’ They do a disservice too, in my opinion.”

The Entertainment Industry’s Role in America’s Culture of Violence

As an expectant father, Arnold said he has been thinking more about the world he wants his son to grow up in. And being in Hollywood, he said it is evident that graphic violence in movies, TV and video games can have an impact on America’s youth.

“Hollywood definitely has a role,” he said.

Recent events, like the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary and in Aurora, Colo., have caused many in Hollywood to think about the implications of violence in movies and on TV, Arnold explained. He pointed out that the movie “The Expendables 2″ as well as some Quentin Tarantino films make violence look “cartoonish” as opposed to gory and graphic, which is more “acceptable” in some cases.

“I’m not sure where you draw the line,” Arnold admitted, “but we need to look at everything.”

And what about the media? The actor said all entertainers and talking heads should be held accountable for what they put out into the world. Arnold was particularly hard on radio host and conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, who he says is doing gun owners no favors.

“Alex Jones is the worst thing to ever happen to the gun lobby,” Arnold said, adding that spreading hate and boisterous conspiracies is not going to win an ideological argument.

Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh also made Arnold’s naughty list. Limbaugh has made a career out of spreading “fear” and “hate” among the far-right, he noted.

Tom Arnold currently hosts CMT’s hit series “My Big Redneck Vacation,” which returns for a third season this Saturday. The series follows the Clampet family as they travel across the United States and learn new cultures and values, leaving their personal “redneck stamp” on each destination.

“These are all gun owners. These are the kind of folks I grew up with,” he said, adding that guns are undeniably a part of the fabric of America. The show displays that in a positive way, he explained, without promoting violence.

Here’s a sneak peak at season three of “My Big Redneck Vacation”:

In CONTROL, Glenn Beck presents a passionate, fact-based case for guns that reveals why gun control isn’t really about controlling guns at all; it’s about controlling us. Find out more HERE.

I see TheBlaze is censoring replies. I had a reply that was on here earlier and now it’s been removed. Why? Because I mentioned about how Judens control Hollywood and I told everyone to listen to their handlers, the “chosen people.” All the “useful idiots” on TheBlaze can keep going on loving their enemy. The enemy that undermines them and fights them every inch. Keep loving your “chosen people” useful idiots.

Listen to the “weapons expert” Tom Arnold. Listen to your handlers, listen to the “chosen people.” Listen to your favorite “chosen person” Hollywood actor from Judenwood. Turn in your guns immediately to your local police department (Gestapo headquarters). The Judens don’t want Americans owning guns. The UN doesn’t want Americans owing guns. Turn in your weapons immediately, if not sooner. Listen to your handlers………that goes double to all the “useful idiots” on TheBlaze that love “chosen people.”

Maybe the ‘”street level” Jewish foks are for the 2nd, but the ones with the power are not. Actually, they are not really Jews at all. They are something else, evil actually. Silly is correct. The real Jews are in Israel, fighting for their very lives. The American incarnations are phoney NWO atheists that are seeking control and gain. Now, I have met many real Jews, and to a person, they were exemplary. The Hollywood and New York cretins are enemies of our country and will pay for their treachery, while their far removed brethren will prosper.

To say those Jews I mention aren’t really Jews is like saying the Nazis weren’t really Germans. They are Jews ethnically. I think that’s where the confusion lies. Jews are both a religion and an ethnicity. These Hollywood and media Jews are Jews by ethnicity. So they may not even practice Judaism, but they are still Jews and are still considered Jews even by fellow practicing Jews if their mother was a Jew, thus tying it by blood or ethnicity. So they may not be religious Jews, but they are ethnic Jews.

Most of my arsenal. I got “scary looking” .22 LR’s that will likely fall into play. And I use them to terrorize squirrells. Because if I don’t, I have a couple of cats that will capture them and bring them in the house. So I have found that as long as I comply with State Law, I can bag 12 squirrells a day (but I actually have only 1 “unconfirmed” kill over the past month or so). While I have not been too successful in actual “hits”, I have found that a magazine that holds more then 10 rounds at least keeps the squirrills in check. And the benefit has been that the cats have not had any squirrell targets to bring into the house. BTW, this predicated on the theory that the cats prefer to bring live animals in the house, not dead ones….and that has proven to be true for the past 3-4 years.

How far down this road do we have to go before the nut-jobs realize they do want to get ALL of our guns. That is their goal. You can show people that they have said so and they still don’t get it. Glenn confuses me when he says “Arrest me and everyone on the block” If you give them your guns you will not be arrested. They will grind your guns up into a pile and show it on TV. Good luck going to court and getting John Roberts to say they can’t do that. If you say you can’t have my guns they will come in and take them. You still will not be arrested. Maybe fined so they can get some more money. However if they realize that everyone will fight back they will think twice.

      Pip and others,
The prog websites are repleat with laughter and threats. They openly jest that they now control the US military and joke about how they are going to sick our sons and daughters on us. They speak of “rounding us up” and putting us in FEMA camps to be abused. They describe scenarios where it is they that are in control and describe bashing our heads in with blunt objects or shooting us wholesale. They know that they themselves cannot accomplish such things. They actually believe that others will do the dirty work while they eat pizza and play video games. Laughing while we march by in chains. This is what they envision and talk about openly. They are sorely mistaken. All partiots must be on deck to oppose these cretins. Many are just waiting for the shoe to drop so we can finish them off once and for all. Let the shoe fall now.

I have a good Canadian friend who is a Military Historian and has a small collection of FAL’s. (The FAL was the first post-WWII semi-automatic military rifle of the U.K. and most of the Commonwealth.) Canada, like Britain, has no Bill of Rights in their Constitution. Baby step by baby step the Canadian government passed restrictions on firearms over 30 years. No handguns, period. Universal registration. No semi-automatic rifles or shotguns. No more than 100 rounds of ammunition for any gun in your home. He still has his guns, but it is illegal for him to take them to the range to shoot them, to sell them, or even to take them out of his house. He cannot bring them south to the U.S. to shoot with us here because the Canadian government would not allow him to bring them back across the border. His view of our current 2nd Amendment controversy? “Don’t give an inch, because if you give in initially on something small, sooner or later you will lose all of your gun rights and never get them back.” To quote the former President of the NRA, Charlton Heston, “From my cold, dead hands…”

      Men,
It is backbone time. Do not bury your guns. Fight back. Do not be caught in your homes with your wives and children, meet them far away. Get some tactical sense for God’s sake. If they catch you at home, you will have to surrender or get murdered. Listen to Sun Tsu,. Strike when you can win, and recede when the enemy has the advantage. Hit the outposts. Draw them away from your true objectives with diversions and then hit the target hard. Blend into the populace like a chameleon and then strike like a dragon when their backs are turned. Make note of the whereabouts of the enemy and make them pay if they betray. Do not enter battle like a fool. First, know your objective and above all, know your enemy better than he knows you. Envision your desired outcome and work to that end. Be smart. Do not throw your lives away or ever surrender. Make them count .

Gun control, be it from the Beck-right or the Brady-left, is only control, the guns are the incidental instrumentality. MOLON LABE Obama Oedipussy Rex father killer and “mother marrier”.

Redglen, I’ve been listening to Glenn Beck and I really haven’t heard him advocate gun control. Not sure what you’re talking about. He’s spoken a lot about how he has bought several guns for protection and goes to a gun range. He’s dispelled the mistaken terms such as “assault weapons” and explained that semiautomatic weapons are just ones that you don’t have to reload after firing each round. All in all I’d say he’s pretty supportive of gun rights. He can certainly have guests on that he may fully or partially disagree with, just for a lively and open discussion, can’t he?

Atta boy Tom you tell em nobody’s taking your guns away, you make your magnificent gay Marxist ruler proud. Just keep lying I mean assuring the subjects that I won’t take their guns away,I need more time to convince the idiots to simply surrender them to my regime. The other way will get messy and I need to get the number of legal gun owners low enough the easy way first before I order my pawns to round them up the hard way. I don’t want to lose too many pawns,I need to win after all.

We are already living in tyranny. Largest prison population on the planet. No right to due process. No right to any sort of privacy. No real right to property. No right to self determination. I mean I just don’t know what else the government has to do for people to understand this. Obviously they could use their new seized powers more aggressively on us, but as it stands now they have so many stupid laws they can just get rid of any political adversary they want. Label them a terrorist or insane and… People seem to think they’re free just because the TV or a ‘patriotic’ song tells them they are without any real concept of what freedom means. Perhaps these Hollywood types are just so coddled they don’t have any concept of reality. I don’t know anymore.

Okay Tom a little lesson is in order for you,the second amendment wasn’t written so we could go hunting or target shooting. It doesn’t contain qualifiers or anythig that says we need a permit or what type of firearm we may buy. It was written to ensure we maintain our constitutional republic and never sink to the level of a democracy which leads to a dictatorship.

I don’t know a shooter who would even look sideways at a “assault rifle”. Candidly I have yet to see an AK other than the Galil that impressed me but that’s another discussion for another day. Just who does he think is buying up every AR, AK, M1A1 ad infinitum?

Saw some Sig’s today model 400′s at the gun store today going for $1800, very nice, tempted to pick one up but I’m set & going to direct the electrons toward more ammo.

Last month they were going for less than $1000

Hold what you’ve got. Don’t “register” a thing
