Whoops: ABC Anchor Thinks He’s Pointing Out Morgan Freeman at Inauguration…but It’s Not!

While covering President Obama’s second inauguration Monday afternoon, ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos thought he saw Hollywood legend Morgan Freeman in the crowd.

But he didn’t. It was NBA superstar Bill Russell. Whoops:

“George was providing the play-by-play for ABC this morning … when he started pointing out some of the famous people in the D.C. crowd … and mixed up one legendary black guy for another,” gossip news site TMZ notes.

Luckily for Stephanopoulos, someone off-camera quickly corrected him and he was able to apologize for his mistake.

What do you think? Trivial gaffe or bonehead mistake?

It nice to know the racist are out on the comment section today. Half of the comment on here are just as racist as Obama’s statement regarding his Grandmother or Samuel L. Freeman’s on politics.

I do prefer these racist to publicly state what they think and believe come out with their racism so we can know who and what they are. “transparency”

They don’t even look alike! Morgan the niece molester Freeman is light skinned and the legendary Bill Russel is dark skinned.

I’ve never seen Morgan Marxist Freeman with a tan near that dark. I believe Stephanopoulos can’t tell a black person apart from another. But remember you’re a racist if you’re not on the progressive band wagon.

First, you would think that the CELTICS hat Bill Russel was wearing would have been a clue for George S.

Second, I know how George S feels. When I first saw M. Obama in her new wig I thought that James Brown (The Godfather of Soul) had risen from the dead.

In the video, he doesn’t look like Freeman to me. I can see the resemblance in the images at the end, but that’s not what the reporter was seeing.

Eh, it’s no big deal… unless a Republican had done it, of course. ;)

Morgan freeman once played in a movie Bruce Almighty whose story line was if you give everybody everthing without them haveing to work for it it all comes apart. Seems like he should go back and watch his own movies.
