’6 Kids 4 Wives. Acquitted for Murder’: Read the Scathing Facebook Message Posted By Wes Welker’s Wife Attacking Ray Lewis

You may remember that after the New England Patriots lost to the New York Giants in last year’s Super Bowl, quarterback Tom Brady’s wife — supermodel Gisele Bundchen — ripped his teammates for dropping so many passes. Well, now another Patriots player’s wife is making headlines after letting loose on Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis following his team’s win over the Patriots on Sunday.

Anna Burns Welker, whose past life includes a Miss Hooters title, was angry over her husband Wes Welker’s loss. She was also perturbed that Ray Lewis — the team’s star linebacker — has been getting so much attention and praise. Lewis announced a few weeks back that he would retire after this season, and that kicked off a storybook run to the Super Bowl. But Lewis also has a bit of a checkered past, having been charged with murder back in 2000, only to cut a deal and get those charges dropped.

Proud of my husband and the Pats,” Anna wrote in a message obtained by The Big Lead. But what started out as sweet, quickly turned sour. “By the way, if anyone is bored, please go to Ray Lewis’ Wikipedia page. 6 kids 4 wives. Acquitted for murder. Paid a family off. Yay! What a hall of fame player! A true role model!

The Daily Mail explains exactly what Anna is referring to in her disparaging comments:

Lewis and a group of friends were at the Cobalt Lounge in Atlanta for an after party on January 31 when a heated argument breaks out between Lewis’ group and another set of clubgoers.

One witness later said they saw Lewis throw a punch during the scuffle but no one claimed Lewis held a knife.

After Jacinth Baker, 21, and Richard Lollar, 24, were mortally wounded, Lewis and an entourage of 10 piled into a Lincoln Navigator

The two victims died nearly instantly after being knifed to the heart.

Lewis was soon taken into police custody where he admittedly supplied police with false information.

He was then arrested and held without bail. Reginald Oakley and Joseph Sweeting were also arrested.

The trial began less than four months after the homicide.

Two weeks into the proceedings, Lewis agreed to testify against others in exchange for the murder charges being dropped.

He pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice and received a year of probation.

Even after testifying against Oakley and Sweeting, they were acquitted of murder and assault charges after a jury deliberated for five hours.

Lewis was fined $250,000 by the NFL and later reached a financial settlement with the victims’ families. A confidentiality clause kept the amount secret.

But reaction to Anna’s comments were swift, and she scrambled to do damage control by releasing a statement to Larry Brown Sports apologizing for the comments:

“I’m deeply sorry for my recent post on Facebook. I let the competitiveness of the game and the comments people were making about a team I dearly love get the best of me. My actions were emotional and irrational and I sincerely apologize to Ray Lewis and anyone affected by my comment after yesterday’s game.

“It is such an accomplishment for any team to make it to the NFL playoffs, and the momentary frustration I felt should not overshadow the accomplishments of both of these amazing teams.”

Lewis and the Ravens will take on the San Francisco 49ers in New Orleans on February 3.

I don’t see why she apologized. What she said is completely accurate. And the idiotic worship that is heaped upon a complete slimebag and murderer should be balanced out with a reality check. Who says it is of no consequence to me.

    NBA vs NFL

36 have been accused of spousal abuse
7 have been arrested for fraud
19 have been accused of writing bad checks
117 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses
3 have done time for assault
71 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit
14 have been arrested on drug-related charges
8 have been arrested for shoplifting
21 are currently defendants in lawsuits, and
84 have been arrested for drunk driving in the last year!

Can you guess which organization this is?

Is it the NBA or NFL?

Neither, it’s the 535 members of the U.S. Congress.

“No, Seriously, the NFL Really Does Have a Domestic Violence Problem”
By Justin Peters | Posted Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012

On Monday, two days after Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher murdered his girlfriend and then committed suicide, I wrote about domestic violence and the NFL. In that post, I looked at a San Diego Union-Tribune database of NFL arrest records and searched for incidents domestic violence or sexual assault. I found that 21 of 32 NFL teams, at one point this year, had employed a player with a domestic violence or sexual assault charge on his record.

Obviously, the NFL arrests database doesn’t include crimes that weren’t reported to the police, which makes it hard to compare NFL arrests against the NCVS statistics. What has been shown in research is that professional athletes are much less likely to be convicted of intimate violence crimes than are non-athletes. In a 1997 study, Northeastern University’s Jeffrey Benedict and Alan Klein found that the athletes in their sample who were charged with sexual assault were only convicted 31 percent of the time, compared with a 54 percent conviction rate for the general population. In 1995, Maryann Hudson at the Los Angeles Times found that athletes charged with domestic violence were only convicted 36 percent of the time, compared with a 77 percent general conviction rate. In a 2010 Harvard Law Review article, Bethany Withers wrote that “conviction rates for athletes are astonishingly low compared

Welker should have stuck to her guns despite the consequences. Back peddling like this just makes you look WEAK. To the dude up above who said, “we all have skeletons in our closets” well stabbing two people to DEATH in a club is not what I would call a skeleton, ya know? MURDER is pretty serious dude. And covering it up with money and a free pass and probation is disgusting. By definition, a “skeleton in the closet” is when you as a chick kissed some other chick in high school in gym class. Or smoked a little weed. Or stole a car as a teenager. Or something DUMB like that. However, it does not apply to stabbing to death two people as an adult. That is no skeleton dude! That is about all that means. But you are a dude so you don’t have a clue about that!

Sounds like sour grapes to me…she couldn’t handle the fact that the Ravens put a smack down on the Pats in the 2nd half and her bitterness shows.

Congrats to the 49ers and Colin Kapernick(?) and the Ravens and Joe Flacco, they deserve to be there.

why do any one of you even watch professional sports? Sports are a kids game, for children. All those players making millions to play with a ball. Most are drug addicts, steriod users (fake) Hi Lance, mean while all the hard working people who support these thugs barely get by. School teachers do more for society, have more of an impact on a childs life and get paid squat. In the beginning of pro sports athletes had to work a second job during the off season. They are now made to be idols, teams cause rivals, division… All planned to further divide. Hollywood, it;s all part of the Demonic Indoctranation that has and is taking place. All is not what it seems!!!

Dumb posting by her, too public, too emotional after a loss. But I’ve been saying the same thing for years to my fellow football fans. Two people are dead, and Lewis knows who did it. That doesn’t make him a hero, it makes him a coward.

How old is she? Oh that’s right, she’s from the generation that nevers grows up.

So, her husband LOST, and now she needs to justify it BY RIPPING THE OTHER PLAYERS.

Yes, I heard that your husband is an aboslute ANGEL, without SIN, and is, IN FACT, THE SECOND COMING OF JESUS CHRIST… NOT!

Get over it. You are probably upset that your hubby is home now and you have less time to spend with your BOYFRIENDS!

SORE LOSER! First off Lewis may be a thug but to personally attack him because of his past is ridiculous. The Murder charges were dropped and he was with a group and the individual who committed murder. He initially lied for his friend and then pled guilty to obstruction in return for his testimony. Granted LEwis is no pillar to society but get over it. Since the trial he has been nothing but a dedicated player who gives back to the community and generally represents himself pretty well.

Ray Lewis cries more than JOHN BOEHNER but none of the press has the guts to say anything about that. Yes, I also agree he got away with murder but it’s funny that no one (even on the Blaze) focuses on the 6 kids 4 wives part. It’s a shame that it is so normal that it is overlooked.

Anyone watch Pawn Stars last night? Dennis Rodmans ex-wife was selling some of his jersey’s for money so their child can go to college. All that was talked about was how long he played, greatest rebounder ever, team leader. Yet his sorry a_ _ can’t even pay after making over 100 million for his own child to go to college, 6 years from now, there will be the story on how the NFL cheated Lewis and that’s why he is broke. It is such a sad world.

Mrs. Welker is entitled to her opinion… she might be careful where she espouses it, as that could lashback on her husband, who I doubt is without his aggression associated confrontations over his lifetime.

Ray Lewis had some truly dark times, and questionable behaviors and colleagues… so much for a land of second chances, of Not Guilty verdicts meaning anything, and of people being able to change and grow…

I suspect this is the standard liberal line… mouth the platitudes, claim it is possible, until it opposes your desires, then tear down anything that is different.

I do not know Mr. Lewis. I hope he has better his life and the lives of those around him given his second chance. There are too many others who have never been made to face the consequences of their actions at all, and who continue to ‘misbehave’ at all levels of today’s civilization.
