Former GE CEO: Based on Inauguration Speeches, Obama Appears ‘Comfortable With High Unemployment and Huge Deficits’

Former General Electric CEO Jack Welch Criticizes Obama for Not Mentioning Jobs Numbers During Inauguration

(Photo: AP)

Former General Electric CEO Jack Welch came out swinging against President Barack Obama yet again the night of the inauguration.  Back in October, Welch was ridiculed for saying the administration may have manipulated jobs numbers ahead of the 2012 election, and yesterday his concern was once again unemployment.

“Inaugurals always magnificent…appears Pres. Obama comfortable with high unemployment and huge deficits..no serious mention,” he wrote on Twitter.

The Huffington Post has consequently labeled Welch an “economic conspiracy theorist” along with Rush Limbaugh, Karl Rove, Donald Trump, Ron Paul and CNN’s Erin Burnett (apparently she said that Federal Reserve policies have caused the price of food and gas to rise).

The Huffington Post also notes that the unemployment rate, currently at 7.8%, is roughly the same as it was when President Obama assumed office.  They do not, however, point out that the massive contraction in the U.S. labor force keeps the numbers lower than they would otherwise be.

Click here to read TheBlaze’s Becket Adams breakdown of President Obama’s first term “by the numbers,” which also includes an overview of the national debt.

The reaction on Twitter to Welch’s statement has been mixed.  While 305 people have retweeted the note and 57 people have “favorited” it as of this article’s publication, there have also been some frightening responses.

One man, who apparently likes to write in all capital letters, told Welch to “drop dead” and that even with all his money, he is still a “racist son of a bi***.”

Content warning:

In fact, President Obama did touch on the jobs situation during the inauguration, but it was limited to broad, sweeping statements.

“We know that America thrives when every person can find independence and pride in their work,” he stated. “When the wages of honest labor liberate families from the brink of hardship.”

He also said: “We, the people, understand that our country cannot succeed when a shrinking few do very well and a growing many barely make it.”

I’m no fan of many of the social programs being created that are destroying the nation I fought for but if we were going to socialize anything that would help the hardworking members of the late great united states, I would socialize legal assitance. The legal system and the costs of conducting business in a system that we have already paid for has systematically created slaves for the system. I wonder how many fathers couldn’t buy Xmas or clothes for their children due to having to battle in court for their natural given rights to be parents…. Someone get a useless whitehouse petition together and I’ll sign the damn thing.

The ruthless thug is more then comfortable with all the numbers. The only thing he cares about is that he takes this country down and he and that moose live lives of luxury and the more extravagant the better. His arrogance goes beyond any levels ever seen before.

No Obama’s very comfortable with his liberal agenda. He spoke on it yesterday and today Karl Roves group spit out an ad showing how blatant it is. Check it out: http://www.thedailycandidate.com/video/2013/jan/crossroads_ad_inauguration.html

Our Constitutional Republic died a peaceful death on 11/6/2012 with the election of that murderous, lying, despicable human being. The communist motto ” Forward ” that resonated with so many ignorant Americans will plunge us into many years of darkness. The welfare dependent Americans, unions, and illegal aliens have chosen for the rest of us the dark path of serfdom.

Entitlement reform is necessary, but people don’t really see the numbers… How about an APP that will let people view their own deposits and deficits.

lifetime deposits into social security…. into medicare… into medicaire part D
lifetime withdrals from s. security medicaire &medicaire part D
    total balance/deficit to date_______

    this years beginning balance ___
years expenditures _____ (click for itemized list)
    new balance.______

deficit offset by – ______taken from your children’s social security retirement savings
    ( enter social security numbers)
______ amount left in their SS accounts (discounting IOU’s)
    – _______ covered by taxes collected from other sources

bal. ________ added to the national debt,
to be paid with interest by your children and grandchildren

If people saw an honest accounting, how would it change the conversation?

Obama is also comfortable with increasing confiscation of wealth, destroying the job creators (unless they collaborate with the Marxist elites) and increasing the number of poor sheeple (government slaves) and thereby their power base. Will property rights be far behind? How much of our wealth and property have collateralized the “loans” from China?

And your successor is quite happy with moving business to China and paying no corporate income tax here. Moreover, Immelt thinks the Chinese economic model (slavery) should be implemented here. When the economy crashes, we will all be slaves, living on what the government gives us. Yet the elite like Obama, Soros and Immelt will have carved themselves a comfortable environment for themselves, where they will have all the luxuries that we are not allowed.

Those few, like the CEO of Solyndra, bobo?

This is the new normal. High unemployment, anemic economic activity, high regulation, stiffing of entrepreneurial enterprise, high taxes, graft and favors as an institutional and singular path to wealth, massive debt, massive inflation, a permanent welfare class, and the use of the shrinking middle class as false evidence that there isn’t enough of all the previous items.

Welcome to bobo land, the era of the decline and death of American economic liberty and prosperity.

You summed it up quite well and if you watched that diatribe that passed for an inauguration speech,I could only watch very little because my stomach wouldn’t allow me to watch too much of it,you could feel the rage emanating from the Marxist maggot. It’s true he wants to lower our standard of living and he’s doing it and the idiots cheer him on,we’ll see how cheerful they are when the dollar collapses and they’re starving.

Jack Welch knew how to run a business. I LOVED his “Bottom 10%” strategy. Every year he would fire the bottom 10% of his work force. You constantly had to train and fight for your job which created an A+ workforce every year. People hated the guy for this but there were MANY employees that became better people because of it.
