Find Out Why There Were A LOT of Guns on the Set of Glenn Beck’s Show Tuesday

During his television program on Tuesday night, Glenn Beck brought in gun expert Paul Michael and historian David Barton to dispel a number of myths about firearms. In the middle of Beck’s Dallas studio sat a table full of various types of firearms — all unloaded of course.

Watch Beck and company go over the difference between “assault rifles” and regular rifles and other common misconceptions about guns:

Beck also discussed the importance of teaching kids to respect guns and about gun safety. Here are the four rules Michael taught kids on the show:

1. Even if you are not sure if it’s a real gun, don’t touch it. Ask someone to help you.

2. Always keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction.

3. Keep your finger off the trigger until you’ve made the decision to shoot.

4. Only take the safety off the firearm once you are ready to fire.

Just as a bonus, Beck also hosted some of the fastest shooters in America to prove that limiting magazine size isn’t necessarily going to slow down killers. Obviously, they couldn’t fire live rounds in Beck’s Dallas studio, but they still put on a good show.

Watch the impressive video below:

Finally, Beck tackled the anti-gun culture creeping into America’s school system. He referenced a recent case where a 5-year-old Pennsylvania kindergartener was suspended for using a Hello Kitty bubble gun and another where a little boy was suspended for using a “finger gun.”

“It’s not foolish, it’s not ignorance. It’s indoctrination and it’s by design,” Beck said. “Remember, the left has a grip on the education system.”

In CONTROL, Glenn Beck presents a passionate, fact-based case for guns that reveals why gun control isn’t really about controlling guns at all; it’s about controlling us. Find out more HERE.

The sad, pathetic FACT is that most progressives, would recoil in fear and revulsion at the mere sight of a pistol, as if it were a poisonous snake. These are the people who are leading us and seeking to gut the second amendment while our enemies are teaching their CHILDREN how to field strip and operate AK-47′s!! The future is GRIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What people need to understand is that the 2nd Amendment IS NOT about hunting or sport shooting; rather it was established by our Founders to protect the PEOPLE from an oppressive government! It would be very wise to go to the below Link and read “The History of the 2nd Amendment”!

Let me start by saying I applaud Glenn’s effort. His goal is true. But the thing about non-gun guys doing guns shows is this…they suck at it. In the first 30 seconds his ‘gun expert’ made two glaring mistakes. The 22LR is not the same caliber as 5.56×45, (.223 rem) and the magazine capacity of that AR was 30 rounds, (not 20). At that point I stopped watching…

I love Glenn. I love what he’s trying to do. But if you’re gonna dive into this pool….get it right.

With my 3 sons they were not allowed to even point a toy gun at anyone. At age 5 they all got a cricket singel shot bolt action made for kids and were only allowed to shoot targets with adult supervision. I bought all 4 of my grand sons a Cricket when they reached age 5 and were also taught not to point a toy gun or a BB gun at anyone. They can shoot as good as me. They are not allowed to play these crazy video games. Congress needs to shut down all of them and make Hollywood take all the gun sceans out of NCIS, CSI etc.since the Hollywood acters are the biggest anti-gun nuts around.

Why… probably because GB wants to utilize the situation to feed his audience and take his usual anti-administration pose. Well here is the independent, logical, rational voter take on the gun issue. No guns should be banned. ALL guns should be registered at ever step from manufacturing, wholesaler to the gun shop. And in respect to the conservative assertion that with rights come responsibilities, the registered owner of the gun should be criminally and civilly responsible and liable for any crime the gun is involved in, unless it was reported stolen within 72 hours. See simple and no trampling of the 2 nd. amendment. Case in point, if she were not dead Mrs. Lanza should be held criminally and civilly liable for the killings in Newtown, as there is no way her guns should have been so accessible. And by the way such registration does in fact reduce the use of a gun in crimes. There has been federal registration of machine guns since the 1930′s and there use in crimes is virtually zero.

Thanks Glenn! What an amazing show that kind of demystifies guns to those who may not know much about guns. I learned long time ago from one of your faves (Gavin DeBecker) “not to fear strangers, but to identify strangeness” in his book “The Gift of Fear”. I RAISED MY KIDS on that principal. The same holds true for guns….we do not need to fear GUNS, but possibly the holder of a gun, as well as the politician who demands we surrender some of our liberty to maintain ALL of our security. So I wrote a “piece” on what a gun is….from a gun’s perspective on my blog: http://lizlogic.wordpress.com/2013/01/23/only-a-gun/

Out of the 23 bills recently filed in New Jersey, three dealing with mental health evaluations as a condition of issuance of FID cards contain potential severe unintended consequences that could invalidate every FID card in the state. They are A3688 (sponsors: Mainor and Jimenez), A3667 (sponsors: Cryan, O’Donnell, and Jasey) and A3676 (sponsor: Jimenez.)
these bills would in effect make all legal gun owners in NJ criminals in as little as 5 days if passed. go to the New Jersey Association of rifle and Pistol Clubs, there is an interesting article by Evan F. Nappen, Attorney at Law (Exclusive to ANJRPC) regarding this pending legislation.

Education of guns is the key. I grew up in rural America and have been around guns my whole life (I’m 40 now), but I have met so many people and new friends from urban/big city America who have never seen a gun in person, never held a gun, never shot a gun, don’t know how to hold a gun, don’t know how to load a gun, don’t know how to aim a gun, don’t know the first thing about gun safety . . . so, since they didn’t own a gun or know how to operate a gun, they felt guns weren’t necessary. So . . . I take them out to our local gun range, spend about the first 45 minutes with them just going over several different types of guns (a revolver, semi-auto pistol, and either a shotgun or AR – or both), how you check a gun to see if it is loaded, show them how they work, how you load them, how to hold it, where the safety is, where to put your trigger finger, how to aim, and how to unload and prepare the gun to be handed to another person. After about 2 hours, they are getting good a shooting and I have yet to find one person (male or female) that hasn’t totally changed their attitude about a firearm after the FEAR goes away.
Several grown men (one a big Iowa kid and the other an Italian attorney from NYC) told me afterwards that just the presence of the guns raised their anxiety levels before I showed them how to safely handle and shoot a gun. Again, education is KEY.

We need more people like you to teach the uninformed. If we could only get our schools to endorse a gun education program, we’d be much better off. Most of our problems in society today come from bad parenting and/or bad education. I grew up in rural america also. My father was a gunsmith and an avid hunter. Needless to say there were always MANY guns in our house. There were 6 of us kids and we all knew not to touch a gun EVER without adult supervision. We respected guns, but were not afraid of them. you are spot on… and while the government mandating firearm ownership would be equally wrong, firearm safety used to be a part of grade school.

in rural America where loaded firearms are often close to the kitchen door the problems with kids accidentally shooting kids do not exist… kids in rural America have a better understanding of life and what can take a life and are raised with the respect to listen to what their parents say about ‘not touching’.

in fact, historically, the Presidents that have taken the reins and led America out of dark times are from rural areas… some hypothesize that rural America is more insulated from the social changes that contribute to societal problems. It may be more simple than that, kids who had to work the farm or who saw their parents laboring better appreciate what they have, and likely better appreciate how tenuous it can be and the importance of getting along and working together.

and through all of that, the firearm is a key component (and not just for hunting Mr Cuomo). a world where both parents have to work and where public schools push all to the lowest common denominator rather than trying to lift everyone up contribute to the acceleration of America’s problems more than the presence of firearms

    Dear Mr. banjarmon

Thank you for contacting me about protecting Second Amendment rights.

I grew up on a ranch in the Florida countryside and have been a hunter since I was a boy. I support a person’s constitutional right to bear arms.

In 2008, the Supreme Court of the United States affirmed that the Second Amendment protects a person’s right to possess a firearm, unconnected to military service, and to use that firearm for traditional lawful purposes like self-defense within the home. This is the law of the land.

I appreciate hearing your views on this subject. Hearing from you helps me to better serve you in the Senate.

      LAW OF THE LAND
The general misconception is that any statute passed by legislators bearing the appearance of
law constitutes the law of the land. The U.S. Constitution is the supreme law of the land, and
any statute, to be valid, must be in agreement. It is impossible for a law, which violates the
Constitution to be valid. This is succinctly stated as follows:
“All laws which are repugnant to the Constitution are null and void.” Marbury vs. Madison, 5
      US (2 Cranch) 137, 174, 176, (1803)
“When rights secured by the Constitution are involved, there can be no rule making or
legislation which would abrogate them.” Miranda vs. Arizona, 384 US 436 p. 491.
“An unconstitutional act is not law; it confers no rights; it imposes no duties; affords no
protection; it creates no office; it is in legal contemplation, as inoperative as though it had never
been passed.” Norton vs. Shelby County 118 US 425 p. 442
“The general rule is that an unconstitutional statute, though having the form and name of law, is
in reality no law, but is wholly void, and ineffective for any purpose; since unconstitutionality
dates from the time of its enactment, and not merely from the date of the decision so branding

The United States Constitution is quite clear on our rights under the 2nd Amendment.

“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

One does NOT need a law degree to understand those words and they do not need to be debated or interpreted by a Supreme Court.

We, the PEOPLE, are the militia and every one of U.S. American citizens has the GOD-given right to have firearms which enables U.S. to be the guardians against a tyrannical government. We now have a tyrannical government.

GOD Almighty, The 2nd Amendement, and those of U.S. who understand the importance of the Constitution, are the only things standing in the way of tyrants in this nation from making U.S. all slaves.

We did not elect people to go back to Washington, D.C. to take our GOD-given rights away but that is what they have done. They are following satan and not GOD.

For U.S. this is as much about religious freedom as anything. Once guns are gone will the “state” then tell U.S. what religion we will practice if any?

I choose to be a free man and worship GOD according to my own dictates.

No 2nd Amendment – No 1st Amendment or otherwise. Pretty simple concept.

“When dictators come to power, the first thing they do is take away the people’s weapons. … I do not believe that [our nation's leaders] have any desire to impose a dictatorship upon us. But this does not mean that such will always be the case. A nation rent internally, as ours has been in recent years, is always ripe for a ‘man on a white horse.’ A deterrent to that man, or to any man seeking unlawful power, is the knowledge that those who oppose him are not helpless.” –Ronald Reagan

“Shall not be infringed.” Te politicians are infringing and are becoming overbearing tyrants. Sheriffs around the country need to put the politicians back in line with rule of law…………THEY ARE CAUSING ANARCHY.

I could have brought some neat guns down, some WWII style and a few modern masterpieces. I can’t shoot as fast as those guys, but I can at least hit what I am shooting at, and the funny thing is, when I handle a gun, load, unload, or shoot, it is soooo automatic.

I no longer possess firearms due to my bi-polar, yet I maintain a fair degree of skill with then on the range when I go out with relatives, and the bow/arrow and sling and slingshot can bring down game. I still wish I could have a pistol or something for self-defense but again, my bi-polar makes it an non-option for me.

Obama wants chaos, anarchy and disorder to cause fear and have the people cry for the madness to stop. Then will come martial law and his dictatorship – I fear that enough people will believe his demand for absolute authority and power “for the duration” and give it to him, especially if he has a Democratic House and Senate who automatically give him whatever he wills.

      Hey Snow.

Getting a taser or pepper spray could be an option. Sorry you have Bi Polar. I do wish you good health and God’s healing.

      Snowleopard,

I too am sorry to learn you are bi-polar and wish you God’s blessing. Thank you for being honest and intelligent to know that at this point in time you shouldn’t have a weapon in your home. Hopefully some day there will be a medicine that will better control your condition and you can again have a weapon for home protection. Happy you have relatives that shoot with you at the range so you can still enjoy knocking down some targets.

Always love seeing the kiddos learn about weapons and especially when they begin to hunt.
