Facebook Apologizes for Threatening to Shut Down Conservative Fan Page Over Post Critical of Obama Admin.

Facebook on Wednesday apologized for threatening to shut down the “Chicks on the Right” Facebook page because of a post critical of the Obama administration, Fox News’ Todd Starnes reports. The site claims the users were “incorrectly warned” by the site’s User Operation’s Team.

Mockarena, one of the two women who runs “Chicks on the Right,” a conservative website with more than 100,000 fans on their official Facebook page, reportedly received a notice on Wednesday informing her that she would be locked out of not only her “Chicks on the Right” Facebook page, but her personal page as well. Facebook accused her of violating the company’s standards with one of her posts.

The post in question was directed at White House Press Secretary Jay Carney. The post referred users to a website posting titled, “You Know What? Liberal Hypocrisy is Starting to Cause Me Actual Physical Pain.”

“Jay Carney can kiss my assular area,” Mockarena wrote.

However, shortly after Fox News reported on the incident, Facebook issued an apologetic statement.

“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience…Unfortunately, the users were incorrectly warned by our User Operation’s Team and we have already removed all associated blocks from the accounts,” Facebook spokesman Fred Wolens told Fox News.

Mockarena, who runs the website with Daisy, confirmed to Fox News that Facebook had lifted the blocks on both pages. Both ladies asked that their real names not be used for security concerns.

Wolens said their team reviews millions of pieces of content every day – and chalked up what happened to an innocent mistake.

“This team looks at hundreds of thousands of reports every week, and as you might expect, occasionally, we make a mistake and block a piece of content we shouldn’t have,” he said.

However, in the few hours since the original report was posted, Fox News has heard from a number of readers who said they’ve also been subjected to Facebook blocks over conservative content.

“I think people are starting to realize Facebook is not necessarily a safe place for conservatives,” Mockarena told Fox News. “They are targeting conservatives.”

She also said Internet trolls on the left are dedicated to “silencing conservatives” and spend their time racking up complaints on people’s pages so they are suspended.

“All those reports get funneled into Facebook and with enough complaints the pages are then shut down,” she added.

  Haven’t opened my FB account in over a year and don’t plan on it….FB is like Starbucks Coffee…I enjoyed it at first but then the price eventually caused me to go buy a good coffee maker…I don’t miss Starbucks as I don’t miss FB…

  Mark Zukerberg and his ultra liberal team of p****** have issued millions of those “We removed content you posted” to overwhelmingly people expressing conservative values lately. I know because many of the conservative forums are talking about it. I’ve had three of them recently… The last one I got was about a month ago which stated I was on a “three day suspension”.
  
  They can kiss my lily white a$$. I turned that three day suspension into a one month suspension by not logging in, contributing to any of the ‘support my cause’ things that friends, family, etc post. If they continue to piss in everyone’s cornflakes every time their delicate feelings are hurt because someone makes a comment about “Chairman Mao Obama” or his entourage of communists he surrounds himself with they don’t approve of – well then; we’ll see just how low that stock will go.   Why do people use facebook. It would be nice if a true conservative with know how would start a social networking site for just conservatives. No Libs, Progressives, Communists, Nazis, etc. etc. allowed. We do not have to be inclusive of those people in any way what so ever. After all we know they don’t want us around.   I’m amazed I haven’t been warned. I make all kinds of conservative comments and criticisms on some of the biggest liberal facebook pages. It’s hilarious for me to see the venom the liberals spit at me when I make my very civil and insult free criticisms. A log of what these liberals say back to me violates FB’s terms yet they are never dealt with.

  We’ve seen this with Amazon, and other sites. They stick to their guns when they are only facing whomever they’ve shut down, but when it goes public, suddenly it’s a “mistake” and you have their “sincere apologies”.
  
  Our freedoms will not die with a bang, they will go with a slow, eroding wimper and we’ll all wake up one morning and go “Gee, when did I lose control of my life? Where did my choices go?”
  
  This process of slowly silencing dissent is exactly what will cause that final domino to fall.
  
  I think it’s time to start a conservative competitor to Facebook. As a conservative I actually value liberal speech, so at least if liberals want to rant and rave on there, they would have their speech protected.

I’m pretty sure Facebook tolerates hate groups speech on a daily basis. Look it up. I’m pretty sure the Westboro Baptist Church have a page and some radical extremists that support terrorism as well. Facebook is as left as you can get. If they weren’t then their business would be in trouble.

  I’m proud to say I’ve been “suspended” twice in the last week for speaking my mind and just re-posting a few anti Obama pictures, gun pictures.. I laugh when I get the message that I’m not following the spirit of the policy and will be locked out for 2 days… If I’m just posting jokes, never happens, only when I’m doing something that comments to the left. So the next day I tried to get block but was able to post nearly a 100 animal pictures no problem, I think it took only about 15-20 right wing pictures to get shutdown

Taking away the 1st Amendment to freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and freedom of the press from the “Chicks on the Right” Facebook page . Does Facebook support President Obama’s agenda: taking away the 2nd Amendment which Protects an individual’s right to bear arms given to the people by the United States Constitution. Does Facebook have a signed posted out side their building: GUN FREE ZONE in California.

  MSJOE43, I understand what you’re trying to say, however, I would like to correct one thing. The Constitution of the United States DOES NOT give rights to people such as freedom to bear arms. That right, along with the other Bill of Rights are inalienable–that is people are born with those rights, because they are not transferable, the Consitution protects those rights, it does not confer them.

  I am not a computer junky – but you said exactly what I’m thinking. I am old enough to tell you “hardly anyone anywhere” tells the truth anymore. If you do, you are punished. Whether it’s in your job, on t.v., or wherever. That’s why I rarely post on any site actually. I feel there are eyes everywhere – except “reading the cables from Bengazi to save our men”. I just wanted basicaly one answer during Hillary’s questioning and didn’t hear it. Where excactly was she and Pres. Obama standng, sitting, doing while this was happening? That goes along with the eyes and ears that are supposedlywatching out for you and yours? Where were they all standing, sitting, etc? Did anyone hear any hard questions? I’m so disgusted, it’s hard to speak. They got Nixon -and no one was killed. But they can’t ask the President anything now? Please. I have never seen or had anyone stick up for me that way anywhere – in school, at a job, anywhere. Why can these progressives get away with “murder” and conservatives are spanked for asking a couple of hard questions – which don’t get an honest answer? I’ve been a fan of COTR (Chicks On The Right) for over a year now. These ladies are a breath of fresh air and a much needed voice for other Chicks On The Right like myself. The trolls are still trolling their site, but their impact has been minimized.

  Magyar, on the one hand you have a really good point, but then again, the idea is to s-p-r-e-a-d the word, see? If for no other reason, Facebook HAS been a usable venue for getting the conservative word out there. For myself, I can honestly say that through the entrance of many other news sites, such as MRC, cnsnews, and TheBlaze, we have all benefited to some degree. It’s just maybe time to re-evaluate FB’s standing as “worthy.”

  I was on for about 3 months a few years ago and hated it. Full of narcissists bragging and/or sad people begging for attention.
  
  The one good thing was seeing pix of family in different states……it’s very easy for family to upload pix of their kids and mass distribute.
  
  The ad tracking and advanced web page redirects wasn’t worth keeping an account. Bottom line…..I don’t trust Facebook.

  You are correct. I have been on this site since the beginning, and yes, the trolls do come on and spout hatred hoping someone joins in. I simply won’t reply or acknowledge them.

  What they do is post very nasty stuff wait for some one a agree then bait it more till the entire page looks bad
  I find it very hard to pick out the nasty from the just hate obama mad sometimes
  There are about 10 regular posters on here that post good ideas that chalenge a person to think
  The blaze is a good site for information and entertainment !

Aaaw did the Social Networking giant get a huge blowback from the half of the country that doesn’t believe in their Liberal views? Welcome to the new world Facebook. You know, the one where conservatives put their money/support where their values lie. I hope your stock falls to half its current value. Obviously it has affected your bottomline or you wouldn’t be apologizing.

  I did that too. I started a dummy acct because so many media sites and company web sites require a FB acct to comment or do business.
  
  But according to my FB page, I’m a 6’7″, Latvian, transsexual midget, unmarried with 11 children, and I was born in 1879! When in all actuality, I’m really not nearly that tall.
